Introduction forum poll

Allright everyone. It is time to decide once and for all how we wish to do this. Make your vote and then comment if you like. No specific time limit on this poll. When it becomes clear that there is an obvious winner, I'll make my decision.
Crazy, but that's how it goes.

Two whole forums might be stretching it a little.  I say leaving it to a topic either here, in the Steps of Knowledge or the Dark Forest might be a better idea.
If you have seen all 120 full episodes of Legends, copy and paste this into your profile for all to see.

The Room of the Ancient Warriors | Legends: The Rediscovery (Season 3 resumption date TBD)

Favorite episode: The Levitating Dog Leash of Nostradamus
Favorite season: Season 2, very closely followed by Season 3
Favorite team: Blue Barracudas

EDIT: I use the word forum because that is what my admin page refers to one as. By forum I mean: (The Steps of Knowledge, The Heart Room, The Dark Forest) Does that clear it up? I did not mean a whole other web site in case that is what you thought. I'm not quite certain what you are or aren't refering to.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Perhaps this will clear up the confusion: http://phantomsden.6.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=367

When you say "two forums" my first thought is that you think that I plan to make a whole other web site devoted to introductions for this forum. If not, please clarify, I'm just trying to understand what it is you think I am referring to when I say forum.

(I'm sorry if this sounds offending or makes me sound ignorant but I am a little bit off today.)

That was what I was thinking.  Even thou I get now you meant a section, I stick by my choice, just make a single topic within an "information" section, maybe here.

The flux of new members isn't sufficient enough to warrant an introductory thread.

Forum, definitely.  I thought a sticky would work, but we tried it once and it didn't.

I've been thinking about this some more... and I don't know if having a thread is practical. And nor do I think it is worthy of a whole additional forum. So, I guess I'm saying we don't need an introductory thread or forum at all, but it wouldn't hurt to add a notice in one of the main announcement topics to invite newbies to feel free to introduce themselves in the first topic they post in.

A thread is just so impersonal and quickly gets confusing and jumbled up, plus, a lot of people will get looked over.  I've run a whole lot of forums, and as I've been saying, a whole section just works best.

Maybe the newbie could just make a topic in the Dark Forest, if they want.

Well, here we are and I'm still not sure where to go with this. The majority is to have a single post, but as many have said we tried that and it didn't work, but at the same time, many are against the idea of another forum just for introduction threads. So I am at a loss with this.

If we append the description of the Dark Forest to read, "for new members, this is also the place to come in and announce your presence," then I think we get the best of both worlds.

I don't think it's necessery.  The Jester's Court can probably host some introduction conversations.
