Got your PM, and now the review has been modified. I personally found Genghis Khan to be a completely average episode. I mean, the temple games are interesting I guess, but the rest of the episode too boring. The temple run wasn't that exciting, though it did have Becca and Taylor struggling to stay in camera frame. I would've liked this episode A LOT more if it wasn't for that Blue Barracuda girl. For god sakes Tammy, SMILE! She looked like she didn't even want to be on the show, and that she was embarrassed to be there. At least TRY to look like you're having fun. I'm glad her team didn't make it to the temple.

Overall, you wrote this episode much better than I did. My review of it was way too short, even after I slightly rewrote it. I don't know, I just didn't like what I wrote. This wasn't even my first review, so a "learning experience" doesn't cut it since I had been writing these things for a month at that point. I know I bring this up a lot, but I just didn't like anything I wrote. It looked too amateurish, which is why I never got into writing fanfics. Oh well, you did much better than I did. That's all that matters in the end. ;) Interesting that it made a 6.5 average, but I guess it really wasn't a bad episode after all. I do remember this being part of the "20 episode cycle," and it used to get paired up with Freydis too.

As for me, I'm gonna do Atocha next. I know it won't crack the 8 range, but I still want to rewrite it. Maybe you can rewrite Amulet after that. Since we both wrote those episodes side by side the first time around.

And I brought this up on the other page. Regarding how to arrange the new scores and table:

Also, this regards the OP and "new" averages. I was thinking of including both the original averages and the new ones in the OP. The chart would look a little something like this:

Author:Average:
The Red Jaguars
Purple Parrots Fan
8.9
8.8

Of course, the original author would have their names bolded. I figure we can include both averages in the chart in the OP as well. But I want to get your permission first. What do you think of this idea? ;)
I figure both our names are used in the collaboration reviews, both our names can be used in the rewrites too. And technically these rewrites ARE collaborations. But I just wanted to see if you were up for this. If not, we'll keep everything the same. ;)

I was thinking we can post both authors score in the original post and make a separate line for the average score. Same with the reviews that we both separately ranked like Annie Taylor and Lawrence of Arabia. We can also post the average score for each review we did together in the "Final Verdict" section too.

In the original post, maybe we should just post the average score we got? For example, Annie Taylor's score in the original pot will just say 8.6 instead of having both scores. Eventually, some of the lists will need to be updated too. (But not much will change anyways)

I'm not sure how that would work. Like, what exactly would the chart look like? What's an example of how that would even work at all?

Let's use Lawrence of Arabia for example:

"Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress"8.95The Red Jaguars: 8.9
Purple Parrots Fan: 9.0

In the "Episode Score" field we will post the average score that you can I got. While in the "Authors" field we can post our individuals scores. ;)

I like that idea, and we don't need to tamper with the "production day rankings" either. And also we can bold the name of the original author, so people will know who wrote what first. ;) And I'm definitely gonna rewrite Atocha next, like I've been promising to do for days now. So expect that to be coming up very soon.

And your above chart "sample" has been fixed. Just be sure to be careful when you update the chart in your above example. ;)

Also, here is a little "survey" for some feedback for this big project.

  • What episode did you have the most fun writing about?
  • What episode was the most painful to write about?
  • What episode score surprised you the most?
  • What episode score disappointed you the most
  • What was your most favorite round to write about?
  • What was your least favorite round to write about?

Here is how I feel:

And that is....? I guess I'll go first:

  • What episode did you have the most fun writing about?
I'd say episodes like Lucky Pillow, Applewood Amulet, Snakeskin Boots, and John Sutter were the most fun.
  • What episode was the most painful to write about?
I'm not sure, Geronimo I guess. Since it was my first episode review. And it was a pretty lame episode.
  • What episode score surprised you the most?
I'd say my score of Chandragupta. I knew it would rank kind of high, but I never expected it to rank at an 8.2 average. It was definitely surprise, but in a good way.
  • What episode score disappointed you the most
I'd have to say Blue Pearl disappointed me a bit. I was completely convinced it would rank in the 8 range, but it just barely made a 7 average. Oh well, still liked the collaboration we did. :mrorange:
  • What was your most favorite round to write about?
I'd say the temple run. Since I know all of them like the back of my hand.
  • What was your least favorite round to write about?
I'd say either the legend or temple games. The former because I was never interested in the legends. And some of them were downright lame. And the latter because it usually took the longest to write about.
[/list]

Those are my thoughts on your survey. Now it's your turn. ;)

Oops, I didn't realize I never completed the survey. Well, here are my thoughts:
  • What episode did you have the most fun writing about?

Most of the wins like Lawrence of Arabia, Apanuugpak, Atocha, Nostradamus, Catherine the Great, etc. were definitely fun to write about. I have to admit that I had the most fun with Golden Jaguar because I forgot how strong this episode was. It is definitely an underrated gem that is overlooked in a season with mediocre and bad episodes.

  • What episode was the most painful to write about?

I know I wrote for a lot of bad episodes like Golden Cricket Cage, Bifocal Monocle, and Cracked Crown. And while they weren't pleasant to sit through, I wouldn't say that I hated reviewing them either. Those episodes were eventful and at least they are memorable. I have to say the Bent Shaving Pan review was the hardest to write. Why? The episodes is so damn boring that it took me a couple of times to come back to write for it. Which is why I don't understand the love this episode gets. :?

  • What episode score surprised you the most?

I have to say Annie Oakley. I knew before I watched it that it was a strong episode, but to almost hit the 8.0 range? This episode was definitely one of the strongest temple loser performances on the show after Ivan the Terrible. It totally deserved a high score. I was also surprised to see Thornwood Gavel rank high too despite the disappointing temple run.

  • What episode score disappointed you the most

Most of them were honestly on point, but I have to say that I was shocked to see Atocha rank low. I thought it would rank closer to Applewood Amulet and Annie Taylor. Atocha was an amazing and fun episode to watch! But the really long moat hurt the episode score the most.

  • What was your most favorite round to write about?

The temple runs were always fun to write about because they were the ones I was most familiar with. I didn't even have to watch the temple run when writing most reviews. I also liked writing about the legends too even though it would be time consuming at times.

  • What was your least favorite round to write about?

Definitely the moat. Most of the moat crossings were the same for most episodes. At least every other round had different objectives for different episodes. But you had the same moat crossing for 4 different episodes. Not to mention, the Season 1 moats felt like the same thing every episode we reviewed.

Hmm interesting. Do you still want to rewrite episodes? We really haven't done them in a few weeks. I still want to do some rewrites, but only if you still want to. If you were to do another rewrite, which one do you think you'll rewrite next?

I really want to do Applewood Amulet or Sforza because I want to see how high those ones rank. I also kind of want to do Cosa Rara too and see if I get a low score to for that episode (God, I hope so. :P )

You should do Applewood Amulet next, and maybe I could do Atocha right after that. Since I've been meaning to rewrite Atocha for weeks now. Plus, when we were first writing these, I did Amulet first, and you did Atocha right after that. If we do that, then that will just leave Electrified Key from the Lucky Pillow filming day. I'll probably take that one up too sometime. Maybe Applewood Amulet will get a higher score for you? I mean, that's what happened with Lucky Pillow. You got a much higher score than me.

Alright, Atocha has now been rewritten. It actually ranked A LOT lower for me, but it was still a great episode. And I have now at long last finished it. :mrorange: Let me know what you think of it. ;)

Lucky Medallion is a great episode, but it is no surprise to me that the moat ranked really low. Hell, my score for the moat was generous in fact. The moat used on this day was a good concept, but boy was it time consuming. As evident by this moat crossing. At least the other episodes that day weren't as bad. The legend was good and it relates closely with Applewood Amulet's legend. But I still don't understand who or what Atocha is? The name was only mentioned during the last part of the legend.

Ty and Jennifer were an awesome team and very dominant. Especially Ty! Look how he dominates his individual game. The second temple game was the spinning horse game. Jennifer didn't even budge once while the Red Jaguar girl falls off her horse in like 22 seconds? The last temple game was really close. I am surprised that Jennifer and Ty lost this game though considering they dominated everything else. Luckily, they still won their tiebreaker and earned their rights to enter Olmec's Temple.

And the temple run was very memorable and exciting. Ty drops his pendant at the beginning of the episode (contrary to Youtube's beliefs, this was a total accident.), but he quickly catches it as he meets his first guard in the Ledges. I like how Kirk plays it off as Jennifer. Pretty clever even though we know it is not her. He will not meet a temple guard again as he takes the high road all the way to the artifact an scores the only bottom floor win of Season 2! This run was very exciting and memorable. Kirk's enthusiasm was through the roof in this episode! This is definitely one of the only male solo wins I like and one of the best wins recorded by the Orange Iguanas.

Overall, I think a 7.3 is pretty on target for Lucky Medallion. Despite the score, this is my favorite Oranges Iguana episode. Aside from the long moat, this episode has everything that makes a good Legends episode. Great sportsmanship and enthusiasm by Ty and Jennifer, close competition all the way through, dominating performance, and memorable all around. And Kirk was having a blast in this episode too. Nostradamus is a good episode too, but I felt it lacked the enthusiasm and competitiveness of Lucky Medallion. Both episodes are great, but I enjoy Ty's episode much more. ;)  :mrorange:

And it looks like I am up next. Maybe I will do Applewood Amulet. That is an episode I know that I can complete by heart for the most part.  You should do Electrified Key too. It is not a bad episode at all and very eventful at least. If this episode was a win, it would probably give Annie Taylor a run for her money.  :mrblue:

And if you do Amulet, and I do Electrified Key, then that will already be a full production day complete. I totally agree that if Electrified Key had been a win, this would've been THE perfect production day. Same could be said for the last ever filming day though. But I can't wait for your episode rewrite on Applewood Amulet. That might rank higher than mine, maybe even 9 range. :o

Also, you can totally tell that it was a camera guy, and NOT Jennifer who threw the pendant back to Ty. If you look carefully at the wide shot at the Pit, you can see a camera guy walking away. And standing very close to where the pendant would've been thrown back to Ty. We're not blind Kirk, we know it wasn't Jennifer who actually threw the pendant. This was also Renegade's favorite episode back in the day. And you could see why too. ;) :mrorange:
