Legends of the Hidden templepx]Wild Jungle[/i]
Episode 39 - "The Broken Sword of Lexington and Concord"
[/size]

The camera makes its way through lush greenery, and the palms move away as ambient animal noises are heard. Portions of a temple are shown, and suddenly the jungle ends, and we see Olmec?s face light up and shout, ?LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE!?

The show?s title card?a pendant of life?crashes together on the screen, and the camera shifts to focus on the temple and its rooms. ?With your guide, Kirk Fogg! And here he is now!?

The pendant splinters and Kirk is seen crawling out of the Jungle Crevice to run right into the center of the stage and up the Steps of Knowledge as he begins his narration.

?Thank you, thank you!? says Kirk. ?It's nice to see you! Thank you, Olmec. Welcome to the Hidden Temple. The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards. Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple. Which one are we going to hear about today??

Olmec replies, ?The Legend of The Broken Sword of Lexington and Concord!?

?Ooh, the Broken Sword of Lexington and Concord!? says Kirk. ?Well, the legend is set and one of these six teams will have the chance to retrieve the Broken Sword? Will it be The Red Jaguars??

At this point, the camera focuses on each team as they are introduced.

?The Blue Barracudas??
?The Green Monkeys??
?The Orange Iguanas??
?The Purple Parrots??
?Or the Silver Snakes??

?They?re going to have to pass some tough mental and physical tests,? continues Kirk, ?and in the end, only one team will have the right to enter Olmec?s temple, but first they have to cross the moat, and Olmec?s gonna tell us how they have to do it today.?

Olmec instructs:
?Before you, an ancient rope hangs into the Moat. When Kirk gives the signal, jump into the water, swim out to the rope, and bring it back to the shore. Then the first player will grab the rope and swing across. When you reach the other side, throw the rope back to your partner?who will then swing across. When both partners have reached the other side, run over and hit the gong!?

Kirk hits the Silver Snakes? gong to demonstrate, which?in turn?lights up a bright silver.

?The first four teams to hit their gongs will go on to the next round,? finishes Olmec. ?So teams,? says Kirk, ?are you ready??

The teams excitedly reply, ?Yeeaahhhh!?

Kirk then asks, ?Olmec, are you ready??

?This rock is ready to roll!? replies Olmec.

?Alright, then!? shouts Kirk. ?Teams? On your marks, get set?GO!?

Six players take a running jump into the mist, disappearing behind the fogginess of the Moat, but then reappearing, pulling the rope back to the start. ?It?s fairly even at this point,? says Kirk as the players begin to swing across, ?but now they have to get across and don?t stop in the middle? Oh, no, the Silver Snakes are down in the Moat!? The Silver Snakes? boy drags his feet far down in the water, while the other five teams pull ahead and reach the deck.

?We?re looking for four teams!? reminds Kirk. ?Who?re they gonna be? It looks like?? Kirk?s voice trails off as the camera shows the first five teams having their second players swing across. ?It?s close?but it looks like Red in! Purple in! Orange in! Blue?no, Green in! We?ve got our four teams!? The sudden wave of teams banging down on their gongs finally end as the Silver Snakes are left with the second player swinging across.

?Alright, nice job!? yells Kirk, running over to the Purple Parrots. ?Going onto the Steps of Knowledge are the Purple Parrots?and the Orange Iguanas?and the Green Monkeys?and the Red Jaguars. The Silver Snakes and the Green Monkeys came up a little short, but they?re not going away empty handed. We?ve got a great gift for them, and here?s what it is.?

Dee reads the prize:
?You want speed, action, and excitement? Get a yo-yo! You want?the hottest yo-yos? Get a Duncan!?

Wild Jungle EP: The Broken Sword of Lexington and Concord
« Reply #1 on: September 16, 2009, 03:25:42 AM »
The screen transitions to a shot of the four teams atop the Steps of Knowledge. ?As the quest continues,? says Kirk, ?it?s now time for Olmec to tell us about The Broken Sword of Lexington and Concord. But teams?pay attention, because your knowledge of the legend can bring you a step closer to Olmec?s temple.?

Olmec narrates the legend:
?One of the greatest figures in the American Revolution was Thomas Gage. Originally from England, he often had to stick close to George Washington, who would later go on to serve an opponent to him. But perhaps the most famous of his deeds was to start the Battles of Lexington and Concord.

??Hey look, everyone?? said a worried Gage to the colonists. ?The British are coming to search the town of Concord.?

??What do we do?? wailed some terrified soldiers. ?If they take our weapons, we?ll be helpless and we will surely fall against the British!?

??That?s the point,? said Gage firmly. ?We are leaving this rat?s nest.?

The men grabbed their supplies and fled, and when the British came, their search was largely unsuccessful. But they were surprised when Gage, leading a large army of colonists, chased the British all the way back to Charlestown, starting the great Battles of Lexington and Concord. All that was left in the abandoned town was a broken sword which the British did not take. Your quest is to find the Broken Sword of Lexington and Concord and bring it back here.?

?Thank you Olmec,? says Kirk after a short pause, ?but tell us?where is the Broken Sword??

?The Broken Sword of Concord can be found?in the Vine Drop,? reveals Olmec. A spotlight focuses on the split sword lying the front railing.

?Alright,? continues Kirk. ?Teams?you are now standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, Olmec?s gonna ask you a question. If you think you know the answer, stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. If you?re right, you?ll move down to the next level, but if you?re wrong or run out of time, I?m gonna have to give the other teams a chance to answer. The first two teams that make it to the bottom level?will be one step closer to Olmec?s temple. Olmec, we?re now ready for your first question??

Olmec asks: ?Did Thomas gage fight in?World War Two, the Civil War, or the Revolutionary War??

The Green Monkeys stomp down: ?The Revolutionary War??

?That is correct,? says Olmec. ?Alright, step down Green Monkeys!? says Kirk as they move down to the second step. ?Still a long way to go? Olmec, next question.?

Olmec asks: ?Which of these American Presidents did Thomas Gage fight in the war alongside?George Washington, George Bush, or??

The Orange Iguanas ring in: ?George Washington!?

?That is correct!? declares Olmec. ?Nice job Orange Iguanas!? comments Kirk, as they step down to tie-up with the Green Monkeys. ?Next question??

Olmec asks: ?Did the men flee from?Boston??

The Red Jaguars buzz in quickly: ?Boston???

?Incorrect,? replies Olmec. ?The other two choices were?Lexington, or Concord??

After a short pause, The Orange Iguanas hit their panel: ?Um?Concord??

?That is correct!? announces Olmec, allowing the Orange Iguanas to move down another step. ?Now the Orange Iguanas are just one step away from the temple games!? commentates Kirk. ?Remember, we?re looking for two teams? Next question!?

Olmec asks: ?Did the Revolutionary War take place in?The Age of Exploration, The Age of Colonization, or The Age of sailing around the world??

The Orange Iguanas stomp in: ?Colonization???

?That is correct!? shouts Olmec as the excited Orange Iguanas hop down to the bottom step. ?We?ve got our first team going into the temple games!? says Kirk. ?It?s the Orange Iguanas! But remember?we need one more team. So Olmec, next question please??

Olmec asks: ?During the American Revolution, were the British soldiers known as?Torries, Tummies, or??

The Purple Parrots interject: ?Torries!?

?That is correct,? says Olmec. ?Good job Purple Parrots?they?re on the board!? says Kirk. ?Still time for the Red Jaguars to catch up? Next question!?

Olmec asks: ?Was the Boston Tea Party??

The Green Monkeys cut him off: ?Um?when the Americans threw the tea into the sea??

?That is not one of our three choices,? says Olmec. ?Was the Boston Tea Party?a riot, a dance event, or??

The Purple Parrots ring in: ?A riot.?

?That is correct!? utters Olmec, as the Purple Parrots move down to the third step. ?Woah, Purple Parrots are coming from behind!? says Kirk. ?Now they?re just one step away from the temple games! Olmec, next question.?

Olmec asks: ?The colonists brought items that the British would have taken if they had searched the town of Concord. Were they?weapons??

The Purple Parrots stomp down first: ?Weapons!?

?THAT IS CORRECT!? booms Olmec. ?We?ve got our two teams right here!? says Kirk, running up to greet the two teams on the bottom step. ?They are the Orange Iguanas?and the Purple Parrots! The Green Monkeys and the Red Jaguars played a great game as well? They?re not going away empty handed, though; we?ve got a great gift for them and here?s what it is!?

Dee reads the prize:
?It?s a savings bond from Sketchers Footwear. Makers of fun, exciting, cool shoes, sneakers, and boots! Sketchers?it?s the ?S?!?

The screen wipes to reveal Kirk with his hands on the two remaining teams? shoulders. ?These two teams are going to be playing for the rights to enter Olmec?s temple? And they?re gonna do it, right after this!? The camera flies rapidly over the Moat, across the Steps of Knowledge, then focuses in on the Anaconda?s Sanctuary. The pendant-shaped logo joins together to form the show?s title card, then the screen finally fades to commercial.

The logo splits down the middle and disappears, and the camera zooms out from an extreme close-up of the plants near Olmec?s base.

?Welcome back to Legends,? says Kirk, standing  in front of The Jungle Crevice with the two teams. ?Now the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest?so let?s hear it for Joel and Jessica of the Purple Parrots! And Sam and Kelli of the Orange Iguanas!? The audience cheers along with the teams, as Kirk points the players in the direction of their respective temple games. ?Alright! So, guys can go get ready for the second temple game, and girls?come over here and get ready for the first?? The players walk off in different directions as Kirk continues his narration.

?In the temple games, teams are competing for pendants of life?? Kirk grabs a pendant out of his pouch and holds it up to the camera. ?The winning team will need those pendants to protect themselves from the dreaded temple guards, as they make their way through the temple. There are three temple games, and Olmec?well, will you please tell us about Temple Game #1??

Olmec explains:
?During the Revolutionary War, whole cities were brought down with a single charge of an attacking army. In this game, you?ll be capturing an impenetrable fortress?until you can break it down. When Kirk gives the signal, run through the first stone wall and grab the sword behind it. Then, run back to base camp and place it in the sheath. Then run through the next wall, grab that sword, and do it again! The first player to sheath all four swords, or the team that?s further along at the end of 60 seconds?wins!?

?Maybe it?s not so impenetrable, is it, huh?? laughs Kirk. ?Alright? Let?s put 60 seconds on the clock!?

The clock slams down into the corner of the screen. ?On your marks, get set?GO!? Kelli and Jessica both run into the first wall?but it seems harder than it looks, as Kelli has to body-slam till all the blocks fall over. Jessica takes a small lead and sheaths the first sword, but the Orange Iguanas are hot on their tail. [0:51] ?These are two tough teams!? comments Kirk, as the two girls learn their lesson and take a good run-up before they smash open the next wall. ?It?s neck-and-neck so far!? says Kirk, right as Jessica stumbles a bit. ?Oh, no! That might cost ?em a little time, but she?s recovering? Still pretty close at this point??

[0:38] Kelli now takes the lead?a small one, but a lead nevertheless. Meanwhile, Jessica has trouble sheathing her second sword. ?Orange Iguanas gone to get the third sword!? commentates Kirk, as Jessica runs to break down her third stone wall. ?It?s gonna come down to the wire!? Kelli sheaths the third sword, runs back for the fourth, however Jessica isn?t catching up all that fast. ?It looks like? If she can put that sword in?YES! It?s over!? The clock freezes with 15 seconds left and fades off-screen.

?Alright, come on over here!? says Kirk, helping Jessica step off the raised platform. ?It was a pretty close match? But Kelli sheathed all the four swords first, so she gets the half pendant of life with her Orange Iguanas!? The audience cheers; Kelli and Jessica high-five each other as Kirk holds up a half-pendant. ?The Purple Monkeys can catch up in the next game?it?s worth a half-pendant; Olmec, tell us about it.?

Olmec narrates:
?The Revolutionary War wasn?t a one-day affair?it lasted for years and years. Each new day was a tiring one too, and in this game you?ll experience the hard work of being a soldier. When Kirk gives the signal, climb up onto the wheel and shift your weight so that it spins. Each full turn that you make clockwise will represent one more battle fought. The player to fight in the most battles at the end of 60 seconds wins!?

?Since when does war make you dizzy?? asks Kirk jokingly. ?Alright? Anyway, let?s put 60 seconds on the clock!?

The clock slams down into the corner of the screen. ?On your marks?get set?GO!? Both Joel and Sam jump up onto the wheel and manage to hold on, with Joel on the edge of the wheel and Sam resting at a 45-degree angle from the centerpoint of the wheel, but resting near the middle. ?Alright, this game?s gonna take a lot of strategy, a lot of stability, and a lot of hard work!? comments Kirk, walking around the game area to keep track of what?s happening. [0:39] Both players are still on the wheel; the score is now 7-5 Orange, but Joel keeps spinning harder and faster?eventually flying off.

Unable to catch up to the Orange Iguanas? now substantial lead, Joel ?sits-out? for the rest of the round, eventually losing 13-10 when the ceiling lights flash?TIME IS UP!

?That?s it, time?s up!? says Kirk. ?Yeah, just come on? Come on down, let it easy now?? The players slide down onto the padded mats, then run over to Kirk to find out the results. The spotters bring the scorecard holders into the view of the camera.

?Alright,? says Kirk, ?so the Orange Iguanas got?13 rounds, and the Purple Parrots only got 10 rounds? The Orange Iguanas get another half pendant of life! We?re going into the third and final game, and it?s worth a full pendant?Olmec, tell us about Temple Game #3?

Olmec continues:
?People often fled their hometowns for the safety of their lives, and now it?s your turn to save the people. When Kirk gives the signal, run around, jump up, grab a stranded person, then spin back round and place it in your bin. At the same time, your partner will grab another stranded person, then run back round and place it in the bin. The team to rescue the most players at the end of 60 seconds wins.

?The Purple Parrots need this game!? reminds Kirk. ?Let?s put 60 seconds on the clock??

The clock appears onscreen once again. ?On your marks, get set, GO!? The two teams begin spinning around and around?but neither seeming to get the key rhythm needed to perfectly time a jump and a drop of a stranded man. ?They?re still looking to score!? remarks Kirk, as the two teams just swing helplessly around and around until the Purple Parrots finally score one-nil. ?Alright, Purple Parrots have got one in?? ?but they?re going to need more, because Sam scores a perfect shot in the basket.

[0:32] The two teams start to miss again?but this time, missing the bucket. Finally, the teams get the hang of what they?re supposed to be doing and begin scoring more points. ?Oh, no!? says Kirk, running to get a better view of the game. ?It looks like? Orange score! Purple score! Stranded villagers are flying all over! It?s coming down to the end, folks?? The audience begins to count down: ?10?9?8?7?? Joel gets another in his bucket?but we?re OUT OF TIME!

?Alright, alright?let?s check it out!? says Kirk, running over to the spotters who bring the baskets into the view of the camera. ?Let?s count up here? The Orange Iguanas got one?two?three?four?five men! And?the Purple Parrots got... One?two?three?four?FIVE men, it?s a tie?they each get the full pendant. That means the Orange Iguanas have two pendants, the Purple Parrots only had one? The Orange Iguanas are going to the temple!?

The crowd cheers along with Sam and Kelli, still attached to their rotating lever. Kirk walks over to console the Purple Parrots, also still held inside their contraption. ?The Purple Parrots played a great game also? They?re not going away empty handed?we?ve got a great gift for you, and here?s what it is!?

Dee reads the prize:
?It?s the iPod Shuffle from Apple! Compact design, holding up to 1 gigabyte of songs and other cool stuff! The second-generation iPod Shuffle, from Apple!?

?They?re tough, and they?re tenacious!? says Kirk, celebrating with Kelli, ?and they?re going to Olmec?s temple, retrieving that Broken Sword? And they?re gonna do it, right after this!? The camera runs along the footpath from Temple Game #1, knocking down each replaced wall. The camera knocks down the fourth, zooms in rapidly towards the Orange Iguanas? gong, then fades out.

Wild Jungle EP: The Broken Sword of Lexington and Concord
« Reply #3 on: September 16, 2009, 08:20:08 AM »
The camera zooms out from a lizard sitting on the front pillar of The Room of the Tropicana Birds, then fades to Kirk with his hands on the Orange Iguanas? shoulders.

?Welcome back to Legends,? he says. ?Sam and Kelli have proven themselves worthy and now have earned the right to enter Olmec?s temple. But first, Olmec?s going to give them some information to help them retrieve that Broken Sword of Lexington?and Concord!?

Olmec begins his rundown:
?You could start by climbing through the Tigers' Den and climbing down into the Jungle Crevice. Crawl through the pit, then race into the Treasury of the Monkeys. Find the right bunch of bananas, and you could choose to go up into the Anaconda's Sanctuary, or into the Tropical Forest. If you escape, you might have a chance to enter the Secret Woods. Reach into the log and find the key, or plow through the wall and into the Lion Cage.

?There, ride the elevator up, and into the Catfish Cove. Find the correct bucket, and open the door to the Shriiiiine?of the Silver Monkey. Assemble the statue, and you may be headed for the Vine Drop?where you can grab the Broken Sword. Pull the vines to open the doors, and race up to the Wildebeests' Hideout. Turn the correct horn, and swing on the vine across the Jungle Crevice. Then, pass thru the Room of the Tropicana Birds, race down the stairs, and back through the temple gates. The choices are yours and yours alone. You won two pendnats in the temple games. Who's going first??

?I am!? replies Sam.

?Very well, Sam!? replies Olmec. ?When Kirk gives the signal, you'll race through the gates into the temple, and make your way towards the Secret Sword. Hidden inside the temple are temple guards assigned to protect three specific rooms. You can trade your pendant for an extra life and go on but if you're caught without a pendant, you'll be taken out of the temple...and it will be Kelli's turn to enter and try her luck. If you can reach the Broken Sword, all the doors of the temple will instantly unlock and the temple guards will vanish. Return through the gates with The Broken Sword of Concord in three minutes, and you will both be handsomely rewarded?and here's how!?

Dee reads the team?s prizes:
?   For just going into the temple, you?ll both receive a telescope! Bushnell?s high-tech astronomical telescope, complete with power zoom lens, and tons of fun, from Bushnell.
?   If you can grab the Broken Sword before three minutes is up, you?ll also get this PlayStation! The ?PS3? package from Sony includes two games to get started with. Plug it in, and everywhere just gets better, from Sony.
?   And if they can bring the Broken Sword out of the temple before three minutes is up, you?ll both be cruising to the Bahamas! A seven-day cruise aboard Norwegian Cruiselines, with indoor pools, basketball and volleyball courts! Norwegian Cruislines?it?s different out there!

?Let?s see if we can get these Orange Iguanas to the Bahamas!? exclaims Kirk. ?Let?s put three minutes on the clock!?

The clock slams down in the corner of the screen. ?Olmec, lower your gate!? The gate lowers as Olmec moans and the lights around him switch off. ?On your marks, get set?GO!?

?There he goes?into the temple?? sounds a voice-over, as Sam is seen running up the stairs and reappears seconds later in the Tiger?s Den. ?Plenty of time, plenty of pendants?? Sam maneuvers around the craggy cavern, climbs down lower, then opens the lower door to the Jungle Crevice. [2:41] He stomps around the foam blocks slowly, but manages to get through the rubble and opens up the door to the Treasury of the Monkeys, sliding down the crawl space.

Grapes hang on vines from the ladder today, but before Sam can grab a single pile, out jumps the first? ?Temple guard!? yells the voice-over, as the guard emerges from the back doors. ?Scared him, scared me! But he?s got a pendant, he can go on?? Sam hands the guard a pendant after a small jump back, then proceeds to climb the ladder to swipe the entire large pile of fruit off the rung. Three bunches of grapes fall to the floor, and Sam runs around the ladder to pick them up. ?Alright, now he?s gotta put those grapes on the table at the front to open a door?? He places two bunches on, and the altar immediately glows, opening the door to the Tropical Forest. [2:17] ?Alright, now he?s going into the Swamp!? comments the voice-over as Sam crawls into the shaft leading to the Tropical Forest. He appears crashing through the thick foliage and landing his feet in the ?waters?, but before he can maneuver around any more plants, the headdress of a second TEMPLE GUARD arises from the murk and captures him with 2:05 left on the clock!?

?Oh, no, he?s out, and now Kelli is in the temple!? shouts the voice-over as Kelli is seen running up the stairs, then sliding down into the Tiger?s Den, climbing lower to reach the bottom crawl tube. ?She?s got to make up a little bit of time now!? says the voice-over. ?You?ve gotta motor, Kelli? You?ve gotta motor right through that Jungle Crevice!? [1:52] Kelli has a little trouble getting through the mass of blocks and moss in the Jungle Crevice, but manages to dive into the Treasury of the Monkeys, squeezing her way between the altar and the ladder. ?This is a tough Orange Iguanas team!? says Kirk, switching back to the regular voice. ?She?s going into the Tropical Swamp! Right into the forest of the?? Kirk is cut off as Kelli heads back to the Treasury of the Monkeys, and mist machines block the view of the camera. ?No, you?ve got to turn around and head through the Secret Woods!? says Kirk. ?Go forward! You wanna keep moving forward??

[1:36] The camera switches angles to reveal Kelli stomping back through the swamp water and opening up the upper door to The Secret Woods. ?Alright, nice move, into the next room!? observes Kirk. She enters the room, pushes away some random ashes and debris on the ground on her way to the half-burned log, then begins searching in the shredded wood for the key.  After about fifteen seconds of rummaging?no key. ?Bust through the wall!? reminds Kirk, and Kelli runs headfirst towards the wall, and it crumbles down for her to enter the Lion Cage. [1:11] Kelli opens up the cage door, crouches under the bar to get inside the elevator within, then slowly begins to rise up towards the second floor.

[0:59] The elevator arrives in the upper cage?cage door already open?and Kelli crawls out of the elevator. ?Alright, now get the fish in the right bucket!? says Kirk, as Kelli begins touching inside of the buckets, possibly looking for something inside. ?No, you wanna grab the fish in the back?that?s it!? Kelli finally gets the cue, grabs a fish off of the fish hooks in the back of the room, then brings it to the front railing. She places it in the stage-right bucket?and nothing happens. ?Try another!? says Kirk, urging Kelli on?who is now in the back of the room again, grabbing another fish. She places it in the middle bucket, and the door to the Shrine of the Silver Monkeys slams open.

[0:39] ?Alright, now go?go?go! Assemble the monkey!? yells Kirk. ?Ooh, nice move?she grabs two pieces!? Unfortunately, this does her in?the head of the monkey topples over the railing. ?Place the base first!? yells Kirk. ?Use the base first?? The head comes flying back over the railing and hits the temple guard door, right as Kelli starts to place the middle?the opposite way. ?This part gives ?em the trouble!? comments Kirk, with 26 seconds left on the clock. ?It?s upside-down I think?? Kelli gets the difficult middle part in place, then chases after the head in the back of the room. ?Slam it down!? says Kirk. ?Jam it?there you go, now go inside the Vine Drop and get that Broken Sword! Grab it?SHE?S GOT IT! ALL THE DOORS ARE OPEN!?

[0:09] ?Go! Go hard?go fast!? yells Kirk as the final few seconds tick down. Kelli runs as fast as she can up the side stairwell after the stone slab has lowered, but it?s a little bit too late?we?re OUT OF TIME!

?Alright, time?s up!? says Kirk as the ceiling lights signify the end of the run. ?They got to the Broken Sword of the Concord with almost no time left! They get the telescope and the PlayStaytion? We?re outta here?check us out next time for another great Legend of the Hidden Temple: Wild Jungle style. Bye!

The credits scroll as various ending scenes are shown: the assembled Silver Monkey, a small cluster of lily pads floating in the Moat, and a large muddy footprint lying among the foliage next to the Steps of Knowledge. Finally, the camera fades out, and the light bulb-Nickelodeon logo is shown as an electric buzzing noise is heard.

Summary:

The legend is pretty accurate to history; on the contrary, the episode title of "The Broken Sword of Lexington and Concord" didn't make much sense, since the sword was supposedly found in Concord. Nevertheless, it was an interesting legend and an average Steps of Knowledge round.

The temple games were my favorite part of the episode for me. The first one was something new - players run through four stone walls (kinda like the one in The Secret Woods) and behind each is a sword which they have to bring back to the first position and then sheath it. It looked like it was too easy, though, as Kelli finished it with about 17 seconds to go. The second temple game was the frequently-used giant pendant game, which let the Orange Iguanas win yet another half-pendant. The final game had the teams work together in a rotating lever to collect as many stranded people from a town in a minute. The final score was a tie, but with two pendants, Sam and Kelli moved on to Olmec's Temple.

The Orange Iguanas were overall, an okay team. Nowhere near above average, but not too low past the qualifying level of knowledge and athletic ability for Wild Jungle, which IMHO isn't all that high. Anyway, Sam started off low, passing through the Jungle Crevice, and into the Treasury of the Monkeys, where he met his first temple guard. He was taken out in the next room, which Kirk misnamed as "The Swamp". Kelli was an okay runner, and she even tried shortcuts in the Secret Woods, but she made a few mistakes...

1. She had some trouble in The Tropical Forest, almost even backtracking
2. She tries to pry off the buckets in the Catfish Cove

And finally, the third and funniest mistake she made was dropping the head of the monkey over the railing. Not too common in an episode of Legends.

She had a little trouble with the Silver Monkey, but she laid hands on the Broken Sword with about ten seconds remaining, but time ran out before she reached The Wildebeests' Hideout. If she was a little bit faster, she might have gotten a close victory.

Trivia and Records
This is the first time ever in Wild Jungle history where a contestant drops a piece of the monkey over the edge, and the first time in Legends history that the head has been dropped over. Also, strangely, grapes were used in the Treasury of the Monkeys instead of bananas... and this was an episode where Olmec said "find the right bunch of bananas" instead of just "find the right bunch of fruit". And lastly, Kirk accidentally refers to the artifact as "The Secret Sword" before the second break, a possible mix-up with the episode filmed directly before this one, "The Secret Script of Miguel Cervantes".

Funny how her name was Kelli, almost like the Kelly in "The Jeweled Necklace of Montezuma." Still, I'm happy the piece being thrown back didn't take her head off. :P
