The camera manoeuvers through a lot of plants and stops in front of an ancient Mayan Temple. Then, a talking stone head appears and says:
LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE! (The pendant logo appears and the background shows the whole temple) With your guide, KIRK FOGG! (The pendant logo breaks into pieces) AND HERE HE IS NOW!!!!

Kirk swings in to the set and lands. He then says:
Thank you very much! Thank you! Nice to see you! Nice to see you, Olmec! Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple. The rooms are filled with lost of treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards. Only Olmec knows the legend of each of the treasures of his temple. Which one are we gonna here about today?

Olmec: The Legend of the Torn Pages of Jane Austen!

Kirk: Oh, the Torn Pages of Jane Austen. Well, the legend is set, and one of these 6 will have a chance to retrieve the Torn Pages. Will it be... (The camera shows the team up close)

The Red Jaguars?
The Blue Barracudas?
The Green Monkeys?
The Orange Iguanas?
The Purple Parrots?
The Silver Snakes?

(The camera goes back to Kirk) They'll have to pass a lot of physical and mental tests, and in the end only on team will earn the right to enter Olmec's temple. But first, they'll have to cross the Moat, and Olmec will tell us how they'll have to do it today.

Olmec: Before you lies 3 vines hanging in the Moat. When Kirk gives the signal, swing on the first vine and grab onto the second, then swing again and grab the third vine and swing across. Once the first player is safely across, their partner will do the same. If your feet touch the water, you must go back and start again. As soon as the second teammate is across, run over and hit the gong!

(Kirk hits the Silver Snake gong to demonstrate)

Olmec: The first 4 teams to hit their gong will go on to the next round.

Kirk: Alright. Teams! Are you ready?

(The teams indicate they're ready)

Kirk: Olmec, are you ready?

Olmec: Oh yeah!

Kirk: On your marks, get set, GO!

(And all teams start off strong and made it to the 3rd rope but the Purple Parrots just missed by an inch. The other players of each team are swinging, but are struggling, except the Red Jaguars)

Kirk: We got our first team, it's the Red Jaguars! We still need 3 more.

(Easier said than done, because they are still struggling. Then, the first Purple Parrot makes it to the other side and her partner blazes across, becoming the 2nd team)

Kirk: What a comeback by the Purple Parrots! We still need 2 more!

(The 2nd Blue Barracuda and Silver Snake are hanging on to their 1st rope very tightly, then they swing across, but Silver fall while Blue makes it to the other side, and because Silver fell, Green is able to make it to the other side after quite a while)

Kirk: We got our 4 teams. (Kirk walks up to the Red Jaguars) Nice job, you guys. You 2 were blazing across the Moat. Going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Red Jaguars, and the Blue Barracudas, and the Green Monkeys, and the Purple Parrots. The Orange Iguanas and the Silver Snakes made a great effort, they're not going away empty-handed. Here's what we got for you.

(Kirk and the teams are now at the Steps of Knowledge)

Kirk: As the quest continues, it's now time for Olmec to tell us about the legend of the Torn Pages of Jane Austen. But teams pay attention, 'cause your knowledge of the legend could bring you a step closer to the Temple.

Olmec: One of the most beloved writers whose books have been the most widely read is Jane Austen. She lived in a small family who had to teach her everything because she couldn't afford for school.

Olmec: In her teenage years all the way until she was 35 years old, she experimented with literary forms, like the epistolary novel which she tried and abandoned. She also wrote 4 books, Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, and Emma.

Olmec: Suddenly, in December 1800, Jane's father, Reverend Austen, left the church ministry and moved the family to Bath. And 2 years later, Harris Bigg-Wither married Jane. In a better environment, Jane was able to write more, but things took a turn for the worst when her father died.

Jane's mother: I knew it would be too soon.

Olmec: Jane was so sad she didn't write as much, especially since her manuscript of Susan was never published. She did write in her diary which she cherished. But when her family moved to Chawton, she wrote even more because of the environment. She decided to tear away her diary entries of the struggle in her life. And those pages made it to the Temple. Your quest is to find the Torn Pages of Jane Austen and bring it back here.

Kirk: Thank you, Olmec. So where are the pages?

Olmec: The Torn Pages of Jane Austen can be found in the Dark Forest.

Kirk: Teams, you're standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, Olmec's gonna ask you a question. If you think you know the answer, I want you to stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. If you're right, you're gonna move down to the next level, but if you're wrong, or you ran out of time, I'm gonna give the other teams a chance to answer. The first 2 teams to make it to the bottom level will be one step closer to the Temple. Olmec, we're now ready for your first question.

Kirk: We've got our 2 teams right here. Awesome job! Going on to the Temple Games are the Red Jaguars and the Green Monkeys. Come on down, you guys. The Blue Barracudas and the Purple Parrots gave it a great effort, we've got something for them and here's what it is.

Kirk: These 2 teams will be playing for the right to enter Olmec's Temple, and they're gonna do it right after this!

(The pendant logo splits and the show fades to break)

(The show is back from break and the pendant logo splits)

Kirk: Welcome back to Legends. Now the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest. But before we get started, I wanna find out about our teams.

Kirk: On the Red Jaguars, we have Cheryl, who's into basketball and wants to be a model, and Jason, he plays the piano and wants to write his songs. Let's hear it for the Red Jaguars!

Kirk: And on the Green Monkeys, we have Tara, who's in her cross-country team, and Patrick, who likes baseball and wants to be in the NBA league. Hope you get there. Let's here it for the Green Monkeys!

Kirk: Why don't you girls get ready for the first game and you guys for the second, and I'll tell you what's gonna happen. In the Temple Games, teams are competing to win pendants of life. The winning team will need those pendants to protect themselves from the dreaded temple guards as they make their way through the Temple. There are 3 temple games, and Olmec will tell us about the first one.

Olmec: Jane Austen wrote a few novels that had a lot of chapters in them. You will starting writing your own chapters. When Kirk gives the signal, get onto the wheel and run to turn it. Every full rotation is one extra chapter you've written. The player who writes the most chapters in 60 seconds win!

Kirk: This games is about balance, so be careful with your speed. Let's put 60 seconds on the clock.

(The clock bangs down with 60 seconds)

Kirk: On your marks, get set, GO!

(And they start running with ease. Cheryl tries to speed up 10 seconds later while Tara is jogging on the wheel. Then, Tara falls and so does Cheryl)

Kirk: It's all about momentum, you guys. (0:43)

(Cheryl ran 3 full rotations and so does Tara. Seconds later, Tara falls, but Cheryl puts a little more speed)

Kirk: Green Monkeys better watch out. Red's leading 6-4. (0:30)

(Cheryl maintains her speed but falls with 12 seconds left, but Tara is still jogging.)

Kirk: Green really needs to speed up, but not too fast. (0:09)

(9 seconds later)

Kirk: That's it! Time's up! Let's check 'em out! Great job by both of you. Let's see the scores. Red has 9 rotations, while Green has 6. The Red Jaguars get the half pendant of life!

Kirk: The Green Monkeys can catch up in the next game. It's worth a half pendant. Olmec, tell us about it.

Olmec: Jane Austen always remembers what happened in her whole life. Your task will help you remember what she went through. When Kirk gives the signal, go onto the steps and continue your way across. If the step falls, you must go back and start again. The first player to get to the other side OR the player that's furthest along in 60 seconds win.

Kirk: You gotta remember everything, so let's put 60 seconds on the clock.

(The clock bangs down with 60 seconds)

Kirk: On your marks, get set, GO!

(And they start but already Jason has to restart while Patrick is on his second step)

Kirk: Remember, you might fall if you're not careful. (0:51)

(Jason starts to make progress while Patrick is halfway there.)

Kirk: Green Monkeys blazing right now. (0:39)

(And just when Kirk said that, Jason and Patrick both have to restart after falling from the 5th and 9th step)

Kirk: Better start motoring now. (0:28)

(Jason is able to make it to his third step when all of a sudden, he falls in. Meanwhile, Patrick remembers his path pretty clearly because in 18 seconds, he's on the other side.)

Kirk: That's it! We're done! Let's go check 'em out! Great job by the Green Monkeys, you were able to get all the way here correctly. The Green Monkeys get the half pendant of life.

Kirk: So both teams have a half pendant. The next game's worth a full pendant. Olmec, tell us about it.

Olmec: Jane Austen had to write a lot of drafts before she could write the full story. Your task is to get the drafts for her. When Kirk gives the signal, jump up, grab a draft and dump it in your bin. The first eam to get all their drafts (There were 12 drafts) OR the team that collects the most drafts in 60 seconds win.

Kirk: Alright, let's put 60 seconds on the clock.

(The clock bangs down with 60 seconds)

Kirk: On your marks, get set, GO!

(The teams start jumping and Tara gets the first draft in the bin and so does Cheryl)

Kirk: These teams are evenly matched now. (0:52)

(Jason gets the second scroll into the bin, but Patrick misses. The teams go on for 15 seconds and the score is 3-1 to Red)

Kirk: Red's leading, Green's gonna have to catch up. (0:36)

(Patrick and Tara improve while Jason starts missing. But, Cheryl has little difficulty.)

Kirk: Green and Red are neck and neck! (0:20)

(Cheryl's getting more scrolls and Jason starts catching up, but Green Monkeys starting to slow down and then... time's up)

Kirk: That's it! Let's count them up! Lte's see. Red has 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 drafts. Green has 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 drafts. It's a tie. They each get the full pendant of life!

Kirk: So both teams have a pendant and a half. It's a tie. We got to a tiebreaker. Let's bring out our tiebreaker pedestal.

(Teams stand behind pedestal after it is brought to the set)

Kirk: Alright, teams. Olmec's gonna give you a final question. If you think you know the answer, hit the gong in front of you. You have 3 seconds, and I must accept your first response. If you're right, you'll be going inside the temple in search of the Torn Pages. If you're wrong or ran out of time, the other team gets a chance to answer. All clear? Olmec, we're now ready for the final question.

Olmec: What was the name of the unpublished manuscript?
(Green Monkeys ring in)

Olmec: Incorrect

Kirk: Whoa! The Red Jaguars got it right! And they're going to the Temple. The Green Monkeys gave it such a great effort. They're not going away empty-handed, here's what they get.

Kirk: We'll see if the Red Jaguars can make it through Olmec's Temple, retrieve the Torn Pages of Jane Austen, right after this!

(The camera pans to the whole bottom floor and busts through the wall, showing the Quicksand Bog and the pendant logo crashes and the show fades to break)

Kirk: Welcome back to Legends! Cheryl and Jason have proven themselves worthy and have now earn the right to enter Olmec's Temple. But first, Olmec's gonna give us some information to help them retrieve the Torn Pages of Jane Austen.

Olmec: You could start by running up the stairs to the Crypt! Grab the book from the skeletons, and pass into the Pit of the Pendulum. Knock over the column, and climb into the King's Storeroom! Smash the clay pots to find the key, that will lead you into the Chamber? of the Sacred Markers. Match the symbols on the right, to those on the left, and pass into the Rooom? of the Ancient Warriors! Place yourself in the correct armor, and open the door to the SHRINE of the Silver Monkey. Assemble the statue and you may be headed toward the Room? of the Secret Password. Find the tablet with the correct inscription, and shout it out to open the door to the Pharaoh's Secret Passage. Slide down the tunnel to the Quicksand Bog, where you could smash through to the Dark Forest? but beware the Temple Guards that may inhabit the treeeeees! Find the key in the tree and you'll enter? the Jester's Court! Press yourself against the correct wall painting, and you'll gain entry to the Tomb of the Headless Kiiiiiings! Pull the vines to release their bones, and attach the missing skull to its proper king! Then, race through the pit, CLIMB through the Ledges, rrrrrrace down the STAIRS and back through the Temple Gate! The choices are yours and yours ALONE! You won 1 and a 1/2 pendants in the Temple Games. Who's going first?

Cheryl: I am.

Olmec: Very well, Cheryl. When Kirk gives the signal, you'll race through the gates into the Temle and make your way towards the Torn Pages. Hidden inside the Temple are temple guards, assigned to protect 3 specific rooms. You can trade your pendant for an extra life and go on, BUT, if you're caught without a pendant, you'll be taken out of the Temple, and it will be Jason's turn to try his luck. Hidden somewhere in the Teemple is the other half of your pendant. If you can find it and you are carrying the other half, you will get an extra life.

Olmec: If you can reach the Torn Pages, all the doors in the Temple will instantly unlock, and the Temple guards will vanish. Return to the gates with the Torn Pages of Jane Austen in 3 minutes and you'll both be handsomely rewarded. And here's HOW!

Announcer: First you'll get a colour TV! (Description)

Announcer: Grab the Torn Pages in 3 minutes and you'll also receive a game table! (Description)

Announcer: If you can bring the Torn Pages out of the Temple before 3 minutes is up, you'll both be going on a cruise to the Bahamas. (Description)

Kirk: Nice prizes. Let's see if they can get it. Alright Cheryl, get into position. Olmec, lower the gate.

(Olmec lowers the gate)

Kirk: Let's put 3 minutes on the clock!

(The clock bangs down with 3 minutes)

Kirk: On your marks ,get set, GO!

And there goes Cheryl into the Crypt. (2:55) And immediately... "Temple guard, right out the bat!" (2:52) She pulls the first book and goes to the Pit of the Pendulum. (2:47) She swings and knocks down the column, but drops down. (2:42) She goes to the back of the Pit and climbs up. (2:34) She then enters the King's Storeroom. (2:28) She breaks all pots but searches for the key. (2:22) "The key is in there somewhere." She finds the key and the first keyhole lowers the stone slab (2:17) and Cheryl goes into the Room of the Ancient Warriors. (2:13) She tries the right armour and then... (2:10)

"Temple guard! Go Jason!" And he slow jogs to the Room of the Ancient Warriors in 24 seconds. (1:46) The door to the Chamber of the Sacred Markers open, but Jason fits himself in the second armour and goes on. (1:40) He just stands there, looking hopeless and turning around and then... (1:35) He gets the half pendant from above the left column of markers. "He finds the other half pendant, but still needs to match the markers." For 10 seconds, he just stands there and then starts to put the markers together. (1:25) But, he puts some in the wrong places, but correects himself and completes the objective. (1:08) He heads down into the Tomb of the Headless Kings where... (0:54) "Temple guard! Lucky he has 2 half pendants." Jason tries forcing open the door to the Pit of the Pendulum (0:47) and then to the Jester's Court. (0:40) Then, he tries climbing back up. (0:32) Then, Kirk says: "Pull the vines! Find the skull!" (0:28) He pulls the vines, and the third one drops the skull. (0:23) The second king opens the door. (0:15) He presses onto the right painting (0:09) then the middle painting and the door opens. (0:04) " Hurry, GET THE TORN PAGES! 3..., 2..., 1...!" (Time's up)

Kirk: Aw! He almost made it to the Torn Pages! They would have had the game table. At least they get the TV. I hope Cheryl's happy, and she is. Join us agian next time for another great Legend of the Hidden Temple. Bye!

(The camera pans to the Torn Pages and goes through the top floor while the credits scroll)

Temple Run Summary

The Torn Pages of Jane Austen

Name of artifact

This temple design was made in a very unique way, like the Sacred Ring of Sultan Suleiman. This was more succesful and would have been a win if it weren't for Jason.

Cheryl was pretty fast in the rooms and knew what to do in each room, but she met her guards too early in the Crypt and the Room of the Ancinet Warriors. Jason was sluggish, and very slow-witted. He looked hopeless in the Chamber of the Sacred Markers, and was even more confused while in the Tomb of the Headless Kings after meeting the last guard. Fortunately, he found that other half pendant in the Chamber of the Sacred Markers. Time ran out while Jason was entering the Dark Forest so slowly. You know those episodes where the fast genius is paired with slow idiot? This is one of them.
