The Moat / Legends Interactive Game?

Hope I'm not breaking rules by doing this, but I give full support of this idea. Maybe you should trial run it with only four people instead of 12.

Soundstage 18 / Nick Rewind channel?

(I'm really enjoying this)

Yes, you want to make money off your shows but one must learn from the example of Who Wants to be a Millionaire, when you find something that works, and over saturate the market with it, then it gets stale and people stop watching. Spongebob's time will come and Nick needs to think about like after the show has ended.

This channel doesn't include even 2/3rds of whats available. In addition, one person cannot be the final judge of whats will suck and what will air well. "Family Guy" is constantly (and deservedly) argued to be one of the worst cartoons in prime time history, yet it still exsits. If you truly believe some of these shows "suck" then point out which ones.

I would stop short of giving the title quality to shows like Family Guy, 12 oz. Mouse. Shows that have to slam someone over the head trying to convince the audience that it's funny. In addition, you have to be careful of are subscribing to the theory that all viewers have a short attention span and can accept seeing the same shows over and over again. Wrong! That might work with young, impressionable children with malleable minds, but older viewers are a different breed altogether. Here I'm trying to address Nick's constant problem: shoving the same idea down someone's throat no matter how half-thought out (another word was supposed to be here, but no cursing) they appear to be.

The main demo of Nick lies between 2-14. The problem does not lie with the 2-6 yr. olds who actually do have short attn. spans, but with not trying to attract the 15-24 yr. olds who wants that nostalgic look
back. Unfortunately,  they always seem to run into Spongebob and Fairly Odd parents being run 5+ times a day (thats 60% of Nick's schedule). When a channel has to depend on a couple of shows for at least half of their air time just to hold a small demo like the 6-14 yr. olds, then there is a problem. A big problem.

Top 10 Combined Broadcast/Basic Cable shows among Kids 2-11 for the week of 5/28-6/3/2007 , 6a-6a:
K2-11 Total Delivery (000)
NICK: SpongeBob SquarePants (6/2; 9:30a) 2062
NICK: SpongeBob SquarePants (6/1; 4p) 2033
DSNY*: Hannah Montana (5/30; 7p) 1937
DSNY*: Cory in the House (5/30; 6:30p) 1920
DSNY*: Suite Life of Zack & Cody (5/30; 7:30p) 1899
NICK: Drake & Josh (6/1; 5:30p) 1856
NICK: SpongeBob SquarePants (6/3; 9:30a) 1844
NICK: Fairly OddParents (6/2; 10a) 1828
NICK: SpongeBob SquarePants (6/2; 3:30p) 1806
NICK: SpongeBob SquarePants (6/2; 9a) 1759

This channel serves to not only solve that problem, but make a dent into the adult swim market (notice I said "dent" not capsize).

As for quality, no channel can constantly pack quality entertainment into a channel day in and day out (especially when it runs 24 hours). Your idea couldn't be done without constantly using the hour block 3+ times, a slippery slope to the tar pit Nick is currently in.

From what I understand (very little): Nickelodeon owns the episodes it produced from '91-'94. The only episodes it couldn't air would be the revival eps and the feature length movie.

I thought about the quality of shows on and I agree, but the overall purpose of a show like this is to attract as many viewers as possible, especially in the late hours to dent the adult swims copies out there.

I can almost guess the ones youre describing:
Taina.
Weinerville
Cousin Skeeter
Hey Dude
Fraggle Rock <-Personally, if I were in charge of the world, I would force children to watch the entire series.

The idea behind the Nick Jr. thing would be toward parents who grew up with Nick Jr. and want to get their children into it. Sort of getting the kids to like something because of the parents.

Granted but doesn't it underscore the fact that the main channel is being upstaged quality-wise by a offshoot on satellite.

NOTE:

Personally, Kappa Mikey was a little over-the-top for my taste by almost bludgeoning you over the head with humor, but then again, I'm black and 17. Not many things amuse me. In addition, although Martin Mystery still produces episodes, it was removed from the Main channel in 2005 (I guess a mystery was too taxing on the average child's brain.)

Mine consisted of Kirk Fogg taking over the school with an army of Temple Guards who could infect others to become guards themselves. It was awesome.

No it won't, thats the problem, tweens eat this stuff up because it's packaged at an older audience. The tweens will watch hoping to appear older not realizing that teens don't watch Nick anymore and the few that do are disillusioned with it's craptastic choices.

I like this game:

1) Nickelodeon died when All That was perverted and brought back for a few dollars

2) Nickelodeon died when quantity came over quality in that now more and more shows are going one and done.

Examples:
6teen
Kappa Mikey (2006-2006)
Martin Mystery (2005-2005)
My Dad the Rock Star (2005-2005)
Super Duper Sumos (2005-2006)
Double Dare 2000 (2000-2000)
Just for Kicks (2006-2006)

Add the soon to be dead Mr. Meaty and El Tigre and we have a problem. Instead of fixing what obviously needs to be done, Nick is just plugging away hoping something will work and this new crop doesn't seem to be an answer.

3) Nickelodeon died when Butch Hartman was given a job.

Wouldn't it make better sense to have the programs geared for older audiences on at the prime time hour. So make the game shows on from 11:30 to 6:00 a la Adult Swim (obviously not repeating at 2:30). Also, make a few of the shows hour-long blocks while nixing a couple of the shows. (You're On, Pelswick, Nick Cannon Show, Caitlin's Way) These shows marked the beginning of the end in terms of animation and real-life quality.

On a bitter and somewhat jaded note:
Personally, I think Nick gives Butch Hartman too much credit for these shows. Too formulaic to be anything more than mindless drivel and the satire is attempts flails in the wind for attention by referencing (by now irrelevant) topics in a flede;ing manner. Even the show has to dash in a slew of snot and gross-out jokes just to justify it's being there.

It should be noted that Today was the only day since Legends re-aired that Oddparents was called for 7:30 correctly. Again, may just be a fluke. If not, get those petitions ready.

Well. Nice while it lasted.

EDIT: On second thought, wait for Monday before I would call for the death knell. This could be a production slip up [evidenced by the odd timing of the pull on a Friday instead of starting fresh on a Monday and without finishing the season to boot] or the actual end [Would make sense to make Oddparents into an hour instead of bringing back Danny Phantom for another mediocre run. My honest opinions are that most anything made by Butch Hartman is too formulaic for prolonged viewing]
