The four remaining teams now walk over to a set of stone steps, where Kirk continues to talk.
Kirk: As the quest continues, it's now time for Olmec to tell us about Thomas Edison's light bulb. But teams - you'll need to pay close attention, because this round can bring you another step closer to the temple.....Olmec?
Olmec begins to tell the day's legend....
"The world had always begun without electricity - meaning no television and electronics, but most importantly....no light bulbs. However, one clever boy managed to change all that. Thomas Edison, sitting in a chair, was eavesdropping on his parents one day."
Thomas' Mother: Help! It hurts!
Doctor: It's no use, sir, we have to give her an operation....or else it will be too late.
Thomas' father: In this kind of darkness? Not going to happen! The candles are not bright enough - there is barely enough light!
"Thomas quickly entered and thought of a great idea. He placed mirrors all around the room to reflect the light and make the room brighter. With that, the doctor was finally able to perform the operation. The operation went well, and Thomas' mother survived, but also gave Thomas - ironically - a bright idea. Thomas created a very powerful mirror-type object, called a filament, and placed it in a glass container to spread light, and created the very first light bulb....which has found its way to the temple! Your task is to find the Lost Light Bulb of Thomas Edison and bring it back here."
There is a short pause before Olmec's face darkens and Kirk speaks.
Kirk: Thank you, Olmec, but tell us - where is the Lost Light Bulb?
Olmec: The Lost Light Bulb of Thomas Edison can be found......in the Shriiiiiiiine of the Silver Monkey!
Kirk: Wow! Okay, teams! You are standing on the Steps of Knowledge, and in just a while, Olmec will ask you some questions about the legend. if you think you know the answer, I want you to stomp down on the ancient marker in front of you. Go ahead, try it!
All four teams step almost simultaneously on their steps, but the Silver Snakes' lights up first.
Kirk: Snakes - you stepped down first, so you would answer the question. If you are right, you move down to the next level. But if you are wrong or run out of time, we'll have to give another team an chance to answer. The first two teams at the bottom qualify for the next round. Are you ready?
Olmec: Was Thomas Edison a child, a doctor, or....
(The Orange Iguanas ring in.)
Orange Iguanas: A child when he made the exper....
Olmec: That is correct.
(The Orange Iguanas move down to the second step.)
Olmec: Who needed the operation. Edison's father, Edison's mother, or Edison himself?
(The Orange Iguanas ring in.)
Orange Iguanas: His mother!
Olmec: That is correct.
(The Orange Iguanas move down to the third step.)
Olmec: What was lacking for the operation? Tools, lighting, or a doctor?
(The Orange Iguanas ring in.)
Orange Iguanas: Lighting.
Olmec: That is correct.
(The Orange Iguanas reach the bottom step.)
Kirk: Whoa, that was quick! Now the Orange Iguanas are going to the temple games!
Olmec: How did Edison solve this problem? With light bulbs....
(The Blue Barracudas ring in.)
Blue Barracudas: A filament?
Olmec: That is not one of the three choices - the three choices are light bulbs, mirrors, or candles.
(The Silver Snakes ring in.)
Silver Snakes: Mirrors.
Olmec: That is correct.
(The Silver Snakes move down to the second step.)
Olmec: According to the legend, did the mother survive, develop a further illness, or di...
(The Red Jaguars ring in.)
Red Jaguars: Survive
Olmec: That is correct.
(The Red Jaguars move down to the second step.)
Olmec: Did Edison make the first light bulb when he was young, or when he....
(The Silver Snakes ring in.)
Silver Snakes: Uhh..when he was grown up!
Olmec: That is correct.
(The Silver Snakes move down to the third step.)
Olmec: What is the small powerful mirror in the middle of a light bulb cal...
(The Silver Snakes ring in.)
Silver Snakes: A filament!
Olmec: That is correct.
(The Silver Snakes reach the bottom step.)
Suddenly, the two bottom steps light up and flash wildly as an enthusiastic Kirk runs over to them.
Kirk: These two teams are moving on to the Temple Games. They are the Silver Snakes and the Orange Iguanas. Blue Barracudas and Red Jaguars gave it a great effort, and they're not going to go home empty handed. We got a prize for both of them, and here it is.
The teams will be each receiving a $75 Target gift card.
Kirk: Hold on to your horses - the competition's gonna get intense! These two teams will be competing for the rights to enter Olmec's temple....right after this!
The camera zooms in on some greenery near Olmec's base, before the two halves of the show's logo smash together, and the screen fades to commercial.
