The camera pans through a dense forest and stops in front of an ancient dark temple. The flames light up the base of the temple where a stone head breaks the silence:

"Legends of the Hidden Temple! With your guide Kirk Fogg!"

Kirk climbs out of the pit of despair. "Thank you! Thank you, Olmec! Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple! The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by the mysterious Mayan Temple Guards. Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple. So tell us, Olmec... what legend are we hearing about today?"

Olmec Replies:
“The legend of The Lost Alchemist Book of Nicholas Flamel!”

"So the legend is set," as Kirk replies, "that one of these six teams will have the chance to retrieve the Alchemy Book. Will it be:
"The Red Jaguars--" the camera goes to each cheering team at a time "the Blue Barracudas-- the Green Monkeys-- the Orange Iguanas-- the Purple Parrots or the Silver Snakes?"

"These teams will have to pass some tough physical and mental tests," Kirk says, "but in the end, only one team will earn the right to enter Olmec's Temple. First, they must cross the moat, and here's how they'll have to do it today:
Olmec replies: “In front of lays a metal pole that has fallen across the moat. One player from each team will shimmy across the moat to the other side. But be careful if you fall in you have to start over. Once across that signals the second player to start across the moat. Once on the other side of the moat it is the second player’s job to run over and hit their teams gong.” –as Kirk hits the Red Jaguars gong to demonstrate. “The first four teams to hit their gong goes on to the next round!”

As Olmec finishes, Kirk asks “Okay teams, are you ready?” The players cheer in response. Then Kirk turns and asks Olmec “Are you ready Olmec?”
Olmec replies, “This rock is ready to roll!”

“Okay teams,” Kirk says, “On your mark, get set, GO!”

The teams start off all at the same pace when shimmying across the poll. Eventually the Orange Iguanas and the Silver Snakes pick up the speed. As Kirk does the play-by-play, “The first teams to get their first player across are the Orange Iguanas and Silver Snakes!” Soon after that the rest of the teams get their first player across. Once that happened the other teams started off on the other side and it was close for all the teams besides the Orange Iguanas and the Silver Snakes. As Kirk continues the play-by-play, “We have our first two teams! Who else is coming?” As Kirk said this the Purple Parrots and the Blue Barracudas hit their teams gong just seconds before the Red Jaguars and the Green Monkeys. As this happens Kirk yells, “That’s it we have our four teams! They are the Orange Iguanas,--" as the camera pans to each team in order of qualifying “the Silver Snakes--, the Purple Parrots—and the Blue Barracudas!” Kirk then pauses just enough for an applause. “Very close match for the Red Jaguars and the Green Monkeys,” Kirk goes on “but they will not be going home empty handed, here is what they get!”

The Red Jaguars and the Green Monkeys both get a $50 gift card for iTunes.

The four teams are now at the top of the Steps of Knowledge accompanied by Kirk. "As the quest continues, it's now time for Olmec to tell us about the Lost Alchemist Book of Nicholas Flamel. Pay attention teams, because your knowledge of the Legend can bring you one step closer to Olmec's Temple." As he steps down the stairs to the bottom.

Olmec begins to tell the story:

“One of the most successful alchemists in the world is a man named Nicholas Flamel of France. Flamel was the most accomplished of the European alchemists. Due to the legend of him making a special stone, the philosopher’s stone. But that was not the only thing Flamel was the best at. He was also known for his work with hieroglyphics from ancient ruins left behind. When he was older he wrote down all his notes in a book he kept with him. Later he died, and was buried with the book, but when grave robbers came the book and the body was missing. So the book eventually made into the temple and it is your quest to find the book. And bring it back here!”

“Thanks Olmec,” Kirk says after Olmec finishes telling the story. “So tell us where is the Book of Nicholas Flamel at?”

Olmec Replies:

“The book can be found in the temple library!”

"Teams," Kirk begins "you are now standing on the Steps of Knowledge, and in a minute, Olmec will ask you a question. If you think you know the answer, stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. If you're first, your step will light up, and you'll have three seconds to answer. If you're right, you can move down to the next level, but if you're wrong or run out of time, one of the other teams will get a chance to answer. The first two teams to make it to the bottom level will be one step closer to Olmec's Temple. Okay Olmec, we're now ready for your first question."

Olmec begins:

“What was Flamel most famous for: A—“

The Girl from the Silver Snakes steps on the marker and answers “Alchemy..?”

“Correct,” says Olmec, so the Silver Snakes step down.

“What is the stone made by Nicholas: Cobble, --“

The boy from the purple parrots step down to stop Olmec, he says “philosophers stone…?”

“Correct,” says Olmec, “Okay,” says Kirk “Step Down.” So the Purple Parrots step down.

“What country did Nicholas Flamel come from: Great Britain, Spain or Fr—“

The boy from the Silver Snakes stomps down before the boy from Purple Parrots, he says, “France..?”

“Correct,” says Olmec, and then Kirk says, “Okay, Silver Snakes one more correct answer and you will be in the temple games!”

“What is the capitol of France: London, P—“

The boy from the orange iguanas stomps down before the Purple Parrots, so the boy shouts, “Paris!”

“Correct!” shouts Olmec in response. “We have a tie on the second step,” says Kirk to inform the audience.

“What was the other object Nicholas studied: Hy—“

Before Olmec could even say an answer, the girl on the Silver Snakes says, “Hieroglyphics!”

“Correct!” shouts Olmec, “Okay we have our first team here.” Says Kirk “We are looking for one more, continue Olmec.”

“What was Nicholas’s hobby besides alchemy: A bookseller, hiker, or—“

The girl from Orange Iguanas says, “A Bookseller..?”

“Correct,” said Olmec

“What Book did Nicholas receive when he bought a book from a stranger: Book of Abraham the Jew, Book of Pharaohs or –“

The girl on the Purple Parrots steps down and says, “Book of Abraham the Jew!”

“Correct!” yells Olmec, Kirk narrates, “We have a tie on the last step still anybody’s game.”

“At what time did Nicholas Flamel live:--“

The Purple Parrots jump the gun and can’t give an answer…

“Times up, I will read the answers, 1500’s, 1600’s or 1300’s.”

The Orange Iguanas ring in and shout in unison, “1300’s!”

“Correct!” yells Olmec

“Okay we have our two teams! The Silver Snakes and the Orange Iguanas!” As Kirk continues “It was right down to the wire for the Purple Parrots and a nice try by the Blue Barracudas, but they will not be going home empty handed and here is what they are getting!”

Both teams receive $50 gift card to Wal-Mart

Note: Some of the questions were outside of the story due to the fact that it would have taken paragraphs to do the story, so they were taken from the longer story the kids looked at.

“Now,” says Kirk, “the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest, so let’s meet our team players. On the Orange Iguanas we have Darcy. How old are you Darcy?”

“Twelve,” says the shy girl.

“And your partner’s name is Neil. And how old are you?”

“Thirteen,” says the boy confidently.

“Let’s give a round of applause for the Orange Iguanas!” yells Kirk

“Now for the Silver Snakes, Here we have Tori.” As Kirk reads off the card “How old are you?”

“Twelve,” says the excited girl.

“And your partner over here is Jade. How old are you Jade? Asks Kirk

“Fourteen,” says the boy standing by his partner.

“Now give a round of applause for the Silver Snakes!” yells Kirk once more.

“Why don’t you guys get ready for the first Temple Game, and the girls go over there for the second. Now,” he says, facing the camera “let me tell you what’s going to happen here. In the Temple Games, teams are competing to win Pendants of Life. The winning team will need those Pendants to protect themselves from the dreaded Temple Guards when they go into Olmec’s Temple. There are three Temple Games, and Olmec… tell us about Temple Game #1.”

Olmec begins:

“Nicholas Flamel had to mix chemicals together to make solutions for different things throughout his household and for other people. You will be doing the same, except it will be harder. On top of the slide there are three buckets filled with water and food coloring. Each player will start on the bottom and have to make it to the top on their knees. Once you dump a bucket you must slide back down and go back up. The first player to get all three buckets dumped or the one farthest along in sixty seconds wins!”

As Olmec stops explaining Kirk comments, “This is going to get messy, let’s put 60 seconds on the clock!” As Kirk says this the players are ready. And then he says “Ready, Set, Go!”

Both players stay at the same pace until they reach the top. From there Jade from the Silver Snakes tries to lung for one of the buckets but misses and slips back down the ramp. In the meantime Neil makes a grab for one of his bucket and gets it dumped so he slides back down. After that they were half way up the ramp before the lights flashed signaling the end of the game.

“Okay, let’s see how the teams did!” Kirk says, “The Orange Iguanas got one bucket dumped, while the Silver Snakes got zero so the Orange Iguanas get a Half Pendant of Life!” Kirk pauses for applause, the Kirk says, “Let’s go to the second temple game where the Silver Snakes can still catch up!” So Kirk runs over to the next game. “Alright Olmec please explain the second game.”

Olmec explains:

“When Flamel made solutions he had to put it in a phial and set it somewhere so it wouldn’t spill. You will be doing the same thing here accept the phials will be empty. Each player will start in the middle of the mat and go towards one corner and put three phials on that corner, then they will go to the other corner and put three there. While connected to a cord that is anchored in the middle. The first one to put all six phials on their corners or the one farthest along wins!”

“Okay,” says Kirk “Let’s get into position, Ready, set, go!”

Both girls start off at the same pace, meaning they were slipping the whole time until Tori thought of the idea of grabbing onto the edge of the mat to make it to the corner. After that both girls did the same thing throughout the whole game until the lights flashed ending the game.

“Okay, let’s go check how our teams did!” Says Kirk “The Silver Snakes have 5 phials on their corners, and the Orange Iguanas have 1,2,3,4, four phials on their corners. That means the Silver Snakes get the Half Pendant of Life! Let’s go to the last game!”

“Olmec!” says Kirk, “Tell us about the last game!”

Olmec starts:

“For Flamel it seemed important to remember the different types of potions to make for several different occasions. In this game we will be testing your memory. In front of you lay a table of twelve cubicles with a book inside each cubicle. When Kirk gives the signal, the first teammates crawl underneath and try to find a match. But if the two doesn’t match you must replace it with the book in hand. When you find a match bring it back to your team’s basket, and then it is the second teammates turn to go and find a match. The one to get the most matches in sixty seconds wins!”

“Okay,” says Kirk, “This is for the temple, Ready, Set, Go!”

Both teams start to try to find matches by going underneath. For about thirty seconds they kept switching out books for a different one. Eventually both teams found a match and went back to their baskets then their teammates went in to try to find one. As time started coming down to the end. The Girl from the Orange Iguanas ends up putting one more match into their team’s basket then the lights flash indicating the end of the game.

“Let’s see how our teams did.” Said Kirk as he ran over to the basket

“The Orange Iguanas have two, and the Silver Snakes have one. So that means the Orange Iguanas get a full pendant, and they are going to the temple!” Yells Kirk “The Silver Snake had a great match; they will not be going home empty handed. Here is what they get!”

The Silver Snakes get a 50 dollar card for ITunes.

"Olmec!" calls Kirk. “Neil and Darcy have proven themselves worthy and earned the right to enter your Temple. But before they go, can you give them information to help them retrieve the Lost Alchemy Book of Nicholas Flamel?”

Olmec begins, “You could start by running up the stairs to the Crypt. Grab the book from the skeletons and pass into the pit of despair, where you can jump down or swing across the monkey bars to the king's storeroom. Smash the clay pots to find the key which will lead you into the Library where you have to pull the right book, where it may lead you into the room of the three floor lights, where you must step on each light to enter the shrine of the silver monkey. There you must put the pieces together and may lead you into the lightning ball room, where you must make your own lightning. Once completed slide down the slide to the dungeon, where you must break down the wall to enter the temple bank, where you must spin a wheel to open the next path. Where you enter the room of the golden goblets, there you must fill the right goblet to open the doors. Then crawl back through the pit and through the cave of sighs and back through the temple gates! The choices are yours and yours alone!” pauses for a moment, “You won a pendant and a half in the temple games, who’s going first?”

“I am,” says Darcy nervously,

“Very well, Darcy!” replies Olmec as Kirk hands out the Pendants of Life. "Good luck to both of you."

Once Olmec finished, Kirk explains "When I say 'go,' you'll race through the gates into the Temple and make your way toward the Lost Alchemy book of Nicholas Flamel. But be careful though— the temple contains many locked doors and dead ends. Also beware, because there are Temple Guards assigned to protect three specific rooms. If you enter one of those rooms, the Temple Guard will jump out and grab you. You can trade your Pendant for an extra life and go on, but if you're caught without a Pendant, you'll be taken out of the Temple— and it'll be Neil’s turn to try his luck. Also there is another half of pendant hidden in the temple somewhere, if you can find it, it will award you and extra life. If you can reach the book, all the doors will unlock and the temple guards will vanish. Return through the gates with the book you will be handsomely rewarded and here is how!”

Just for making it to the Temple, Jon and Tori will each receive an XBOX 360, along with two new games.
-1000 dollar toys are us card
-4 day trip to Paris, France

“Sounds great,” says Kirk “Let’s get ready, on your mark, get set, Go!”

Darcy runs up into the crypt and pulls on the first book she sees and the door opens. As she goes down the stairs to the pit she swings across to go try the door leading into the library. It doesn’t open, so she tries the door going up into the kings store room, TEMPLE GUARD! She hands on her pendant and moves on (2:30). She finds the key in the first pot she breaks but none of the keys work (2:00). So she goes back to the pit and opens the door into the room of the three goblets, TEMPLE GUARD! “Oh, she got caught by a temple guard, go Neil!” As Neil runs he is very fast. He jumps down into the pit goes to the room of three goblets, there he fills all three cups at the same time, and finds the other half of the pendant near the third goblet. From there he enters the bank where he turns the wheel for the ladder going up to the shrine of the silver monkey, TEMPLE GUARD! (1:30) He hands over his pendant and starts working on the monkey which he did not have any trouble with it doing all three pieces at one time (1:15). So he enters the three floor light room where he runs across all three letting him into the library where he runs and grabs the book. “He’s got it!” yells Kirk as Neil starts crawling through to the pit (45 seconds). From there Neil Jumps down and goes towards the cave of sighs where he runs through the gate with 3o seconds left. As he runs through the gate Kirk yells “They did it! They get everything, they are going to Paris!” Darcy comes out and hugs Neil and they stand there celebrating. As Kirk says "We had a great time here today and I hope you did too. Join us next time for another great Legend of the Hidden Temple!"

Name of Artifact: The lost alchemist book of nicholas flamel
Season: 1
Layout: alchemist
Result: victory!
Time Remaining: :30
Team: Oange Iguanas
Pendants Won: 1.5
Location of Artifact: The temple library

These kids were really fast and really good through out the whole thing, the only scare they got through out the whole show was the purple parrots almost beating them in the steps of knowledge. Nothing else much to say, maybe the layout was alittle easy.

comments are welcome
