The slowness, the problems, the downtime, and now, the just general behavior of the Forumer staff make them look like the biggest assholes in the world.

Let's review the list of problems that we have encountered:
? Audio advertisements
? Unauthorized redirects of the page to advertisements
? Malware encountered in advertisements
? Popup to download virus-infected file
? Extremely slow after-post redirects
? Extremely slow?essentially unloadable?forum
? Inability to log in and post
? Text advertisements at the top and bottom of the page

And now, integrated with that last annoying little bitch, we have this message:
Quote
Reminder for Forumer admins: remember that in order to keep your forum active and working you must login and post at least once a month.
Reminder for Forumer users: if suddenly you cannot make new posts, the reason may be that your admin has let the forum become inactive by not logging on and posting.

Phantom, if you actually read this, I want you to know that I am in no way trying to treat your personal life as something trivial. I understand that everyone, even forum administrators, are entitled to their own life outside of the internet. That life is far more important.

But if you really are unable to make the commitment of keeping our forum active by posting at least once a month, for whatever reason it is, we really need to move off of Forumer. It's the only logical solution. If Forumer's given us - and continues to give us - all these annoying issues, and now if they give us a near-impossible rule to follow, we need to find a good, safe, stable, understanding forum host so that we can continue to post in HAPPINESS. It's seriously like Forumer WANTS us to leave them.

I will try and make a complaint to Forumer about this ridiculous new rule, but I highly doubt they will change it, looking at their previous responses to complaints.

I know, this has gotten out of hand. Seriously, "we will disable posts due to innactive admins." That is just STUPID. This is easily the WORST server ever. These people obviously do not care about their members. I am 100% all for the move OUT OF Forumer. And I'm not concerned about "having things remain the same" No, I want to be on a new server, ASAP.

We need a new server, there's no way around it. Seriously, now they'll kill us off if an ADMIN is inactive? This is getting just plain ridiculous... :x

I'd be happy to set something up, FWIW.

And yes, Forumer is crap.

I've sent an e-mail to Bryan about the new message. It's his call what to do next.

You know, it's interesting that this is happening cause I had this problem with my podcast. Unless I posted something at least once a month or so, the podcast would stay afloat, with the exception that people download the damn episodes so they too can keep my site up.

I know a couple website hosts that do the same thing.  I suppose it technically makes sense because the admin of a forum could be likened to the webmaster of a site, but this could be problematic nonetheless...

I'll try and speak to someone at support to see if I can't get the message taken off of the main page.

And this is a bit of a wake up call for me, I really need to log on more often and I apologize for letting it get this far. I'm going to make it a point to log on at least once a week from now on.

Beyond that, do we have any other concerns that need to be addressed?
