Ten-year old contestants?

I think I've seen some people/sources say the players allowed on the show had to be between ages 11 and 14 during tryouts, but I've heard others say it was ages 10 and 14.

I know there were 15-year-old contestants, yes, but I don't remember any that were 10. :? Maybe somebody else remembers one?
