Episode 112px]

The camera swerves through a thick rainforest, and after multiple turns, it eventually stops in front of an ancient temple.  The eyes of giant stone head next to the temple gate light up red as he begins to speak:
"LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE!"
The show's logo forms as two halves of a Pendant of Life come in from the sides of the screen and merge; the show's name appears above the logo as the camera pans across the entire temple.
"With your guide, Kirk Fogg! And here he is NOW!"

On this final word, Kirk emerges from a thick patch of jungle plants and shrubs, then runs into the foreground and up a wide set of steps to greet the crowd. "Thank you! Thank you very much! Nice to see you! Thank you, Olmec! Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple.  The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards.  Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures of his temple.  Which one are we gonna hear about today?"

Faint orange lights underneath Olmec turn on, and the camera cuts to a close-up of him as he replies:
"The Priceless Flute of Leleiohoku."

"Ooh, the Priceless Flute of Lay-o-hook-o!" Kirk says in response as the camera cuts back to him. "So, the adventure is set, and one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the Priceless Flute! Will it be:
"Landon and Sarah of the Red Jaguars?" the camera pans to each team in order, their first names briefly appearing at the bottom of the screen?
"Walter and Jennifer of the Blue Barracudas,
"Matt and Theresa of the Green Monkeys,
"Josiah and Haley of the Orange Iguanas,
"Robert and Raquel of the Purple Parrots,
"Or Craig and Linda of the Silver Snakes?"

"They'll have to pass some tough physical and mental tests," Kirk says, "but in the end, only one team will earn the right to enter Olmec's Temple.  But first, they have to cross the Moat, and here's how they'll do it today?
"One player from each team is holding an ancient surfboard.  When I say 'Go,' he'll put the surfboard into the Moat, and he'll stand on it and go across by climbing hand-over-hand on the knotted rope above him.  Once the first player's across, it's his partner's turn to pull back the surfboard and he'll make it across."
"As soon as the second player jumps down onto the deck, it's his job to run over here and hit the gong." He hits the top button on the Red Jaguars' gong? which lights up red? to demonstrate. "The first four teams to hit their gongs will be going on to the next round.  Are you ready, teams?"
The players all cheer and shout in response.
"Olmec: Are you ready?" asks Kirk.
"Cowabunga!" Olmec replies.
"A-all right!" Kirk laughs in response. "Teams: On your marks, get set, GO!"

The event begins, and the boys on the Blue Barracudas, Orange Iguanas and Purple Parrots? along with the girls from the other teams? put their surfboards in the water and stand on them while using the knotted ropes over their heads to guide them across. "This is tough! You gotta keep your balance? Orange Iguanas gotta go back!" Kirk comments as the male Orange Iguana loses his balance on the surfboard and his feet touch the water.  On the other hand, the Red Jaguars, Purple Parrots and Green Monkeys get their first players across very quickly. "They're getting their first partners across, now their second partners have to pull back the surfboards and it?s their turn!" The first players from the Blue Barracudas and the Silver Snakes make it across as the other teams (except for the Orange Iguanas) pull hand-over-hand on the tether ropes on their respective surfboards, reeling them in.  After just a little more than twenty seconds, the second players from the Red Jaguars, Green Monkeys and Purple Parrots are already heading across, with the Blue Barracudas about to follow suit.
"These teams are fast! I think we got our first? two teams!" Kirk remarks as the Purple Parrots and Red Jaguars hit their gongs within a second of each other.  Around the same time, the male Orange Iguana makes it across, prompting his partner to pull on the rope to get her team's surfboard back to her side.  However, it's too little, too late? the Blue Barracudas gong in only two seconds after the Red Jaguars, and the Green Monkeys, whose second partner had a bit more trouble crossing the Moat, hit their gong shortly afterwards, locking into fourth and ending the Moat after only thirty-five seconds.
"That's it! We got our four teams!" declares Kirk, and the camera switches to him high-fiving the male Red Jaguar in front of his team's gong. "Everybody was fast, but the Red Jaguars blazed across, and they're goin' on to the Steps of Knowledge? along with the Blue Barracudas?" he holds for applause as the camera goes down the line to show each of the other winning teams? "and the Green Monkeys? and the Purple Parrots! The Orange Iguanas and the Silver Snakes gave it a great effort too.  We got a great gift for them for playing and here's what it is." Josiah, Haley, Craig and Linda will each be receiving a $50 U.S. Savings Bond provided by Starkist Tuna.

Faint orange lights underneath Olmec turn on, and the camera cuts to a close-up of him as he replies:
"The legend of the Missing Mast Piece of the Prisoner of War."

"Oh, the Missing Mast Piece of the Prisoner of War!" Kirk says in response as the camera cuts back to him. "So, the legend is set, one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the Missing Mast.  Will it be:
"David and Rebekah of the Red Jaguars?" the camera pans to each team in order, their first names briefly appearing at the bottom of the screen?
"Mike and Stephanie of the Blue Barracudas,
"Zach and Jessie of the Green Monkeys,
"Damon and Ashleigh of the Orange Iguanas,
"Jos? and Lydia of the Purple Parrots,
"Or Trent and Emily of the Silver Snakes?"

"They'll have to pass some tough physical and mental tests," Kirk says, "but in the end, only one team will have the right to enter Olmec's Temple.  But first, they'll have to cross the Moat, and here's how they'll have to do it today?
"Each team is standing in front of an ancient fishing net hanging up above, and a giant fishing-hook/zipline at the end.  When I say 'Go,' both players on each team are gonna climb up onto the steps and grab onto the fishing net, and then they're gonna climb hand-over-hand across the net.  When they get to the end, they're gonna both grab onto the fishing hook and slide down to the other side."
"As soon as both players jump down to the deck, they're gonna have to run over here and hit the gong." He hits the top button on the Red Jaguars' gong? which lights up red? to demonstrate. "The first four teams to hit their gongs will be going on to the next round.  Hey, teams: are you ready?"
The players all cheer and shout in response.
"Olmec: are you ready?" asks Kirk.
"C'mon, I don't have all day," Olmec replies.
"Ta-ake it easy!" Kirk shakily replies, laughing during his response. "All right, then, teams: on your marks, get set, GO!"

From the beginning of the round, there is a distinct gap between certain teams as all six hoist themselves up onto box-like platforms at the starting line, then reach for the nets and traverse across.  The Green Monkeys in particular fall behind, in part because their female player misses the net altogether when she tries to jump for it. ?Green Monkeys off to a rough start? they both gotta go back, but the other teams are doing great so far!? As the other teams make their ways across, a few players almost lose grip on the nets as well, and have to rely on scattered dangling ropes (complete with fishhooks and plastic fish) for leverage.  Even so, this doesn?t prevent the female Orange Iguana from losing her grip on her team?s net and taking a seven-foot plunge into the water about seventeen seconds into the round.  The male Purple Parrot falls off only a few seconds later, but just before his partner could reach the fishhook/zipline at the end of the net.
?Purple Parrots were close, but now they gotta go back!? Kirk remarks as the other teams approach their fishhooks. ?This is tough, but you gotta keep climbing!? The Red Jaguars and the Silver Snakes are the first to get to their fishhooks, approximately thirty seconds into the round.  Both teams ride the ziplines down to the deck, and run over to hit the gongs? the Red Jaguars are a split second faster, placing first at the :36 mark. ?We got our first two teams! We still need two more!? The Blue Barracudas are the next team to reach their zipline, and they ride it down to the stage floor as the Green Monkeys inch closer to their fishhook.  The Barracudas stand up, and the boy hits his team?s gong, placing third after forty-one seconds. ?The Blue Barracudas are in! Still looking for one more team!? The Green Monkeys reach their fishhook/zipline soon after, and ride it down just before the Orange Iguanas can even reach their fishhook.  They bang their gong, ending the round after a full fifty-three seconds.
?That?s it! We got our two? I mean, four teams!? announces Kirk, laughing off his mistake as the camera switches over to him standing by a jumpy pair of Red Jaguars, high-fiving each other in front of their gong. ?The Red Jaguars made it across first, and they?re going on to the Steps of Knowledge? along with the Blue Barracudas?? the camera goes down the line to show each of the other qualifying teams, with Kirk pausing to let the audience cheer? ?and the Green Monkeys? and the Silver Snakes! The Orange Iguanas and the Purple Parrots gave it a great effort.  We got a great gift for ?em and here?s what it is.? Faint orange lights underneath Olmec turn on, and the camera cuts to a close-up of him as he replies:
"The Lost Letter to the Sacramento Union."

"Ooh, the Lost Letter to the Sacramento Union!" Kirk says in response as the camera cuts back to him. "Well, one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the Lost Letter.  Is it gonna be:
"Benjamin and Amber of the Red Jaguars?" the camera pans to each team in order, their first names briefly appearing at the bottom of the screen?
"Kevin and Marianne of the Blue Barracudas,
"Nikhil and Taylor of the Green Monkeys,
"Anthony and Katherine of the Orange Iguanas,
"William and Shelby of the Purple Parrots,
"Or Scott and Samantha of the Silver Snakes?"

"They'll have to pass some tough physical and mental tests," Kirk says, "but in the end, only one team will have the right to enter Olmec's Temple.  First, they have to cross the Moat, and here's how they have to do it today?

The players all cheer and shout in response.
"Olmec: are you ready?" asks Kirk.
"This rock is ready to roll!" Olmec replies.
"All right then!" Kirk says in response. "On your marks, get set, GO!"

On "Go," the twelve players hoist themselves up onto box-like platforms at the starting line so that they can reach the overhead nets, and then begin to cross.  The teams move at a rather slow rate? especially the Green Monkeys and the Orange Iguanas? but the Purple Parrots are the first team to even come close to their fishhook/zipline, a little more than twenty seconds into the round.  However, the Blue Barracudas are the first team to have to restart; their female player falls loses grip on the rope net and takes a seven-foot fall into the water, forcing her partner to drop down and go back as well. "The Blue Barracudas have to go back? they both have to go back 'cause they have to cross together!" The Purple Parrots, Red Jaguars and Silver Snakes all get to their fishhooks within seconds of each other (roughly a half-minute into the crossing), and all three teams ride them down to the deck, then run over to the gongs.
"We got the Purple Parrots? Red Jaguars? Silver Snakes!" Kirk declares as the three teams lock in to first (:34), second (:36) and third (:37) respectively. "Still looking for one more!" At this time, the Blue Barracudas are a little less than halfway across the net and the Green Monkeys and the Orange Iguanas are approaching their respective fishhooks.  Both teams ride their fishhooks down to the deck, and it becomes a footrace, but only one team can place fourth.  As soon as the fourth gong sounds, the Moat crossing ends, having lasted for forty-four seconds.
"We got our four teams right here!" Kirk announces, and the camera cuts over to the him standing with the Red Jaguars behind their gong. "The Red Jaguars did a great job getting across; it was a tough match.  But they're going on to the Steps of Knowledge, along with the Green Monkeys?" the camera goes down the line to show each of the other qualifying teams, with Kirk pausing to let the audience cheer? "and the Purple Parrots? and the Silver Snakes! The Blue Barracudas and the Orange Iguanas gave it a great effort.  We got a great gift for 'em for playing and here's what it is." "Let's get rockin'!" Olmec replies.
"All right!" Kirk says in response. "On your marks, get set, GO!"

As soon as Kirk says "Go," the players hoist themselves up onto solid platforms just before the Moat itself so that they can reach the nets, which are hanging approximately seven feet above the water.  The Blue Barracudas and Purple Parrots are the first to start traversing across, and the other teams are significantly behind.  Some players nearly falter and have to rely on the occasional dangling rope for leverage, but the female Green Monkey falls before reaching any of these, ten seconds into the round. "Green Monkeys having trouble, but the Blue Barracudas are blazing!" The male Green Monkey is forced to go back along with his partner; the other teams keep plugging along, and the Blue Barracudas reach their fishhook/zipline first, twenty-one seconds into the round.  The Red Jaguars fall next, followed by the Purple Parrots, whose female player loses grip on the net on her way to grab the zipline.  On the other hand, the Blue Barracudas hit their gong, placing first after twenty-six seconds.
"We got our first team? here come two more!" Kirk remarks as the Orange Iguanas and Silver Snakes reach their ziplines shortly after the Blue Barracudas hit their gong.  The Silver Snakes place second after thirty-one seconds of Moat crossing, with the Orange Iguanas a moment behind. "We got three teams? still looking for one more!" At this time, the other three teams are just starting across the Moat again.  They begin to traverse across the nets, albeit a little slower than before this time. "We're just waiting for one more team? This is tough! They gotta move fast but they can't let go? and who's gonna be first?" Time elapses, and soon the Red Jaguars and the Purple Parrots are both close to their ziplines, while the Green Monkeys are only about halfway there (1:02).  A couple seconds later, the male Green Monkey slips and falls off the net, and his partner is forced to jump down after him. "It's two teams? a race to the finish!" The fourth gong is heard, ending the round after a minute and eleven seconds.
"And that's it! We got our four teams!" The camera cuts over to Kirk with the Red Jaguars by their lit-up gong. "The Red Jaguars made it across? just edged out the Purple Parrots! They're going on to the Steps of Knowledge, along with the Blue Barracudas?" Kirk holds for applause while the camera goes on to show each of the other qualifying teams? "and the Orange Iguanas? and the Silver Snakes! The Green Monkeys and the Purple Parrots gave it a great effort too; we got a great gift for 'em and here's what it is." The Dark Forest / Artists?
« on: October 18, 2010, 07:42:44 PM »
Well, obviously I'm not the only person here who writes... :P But I'm not the only person here who draws, paints or makes visual art of any sort, am I?

I'm pretty sure some members have heard me talking about an original comic I want to launch at some point... I'm not quite ready to draw things out yet, admittedly; at this point I still can't draw consistent characters, so I want to get better at that before I create anything bigger than a basic storyboard. :?

Possible discussion?

"Jake and Sam of the Red Jaguars?" the camera pans to each team in order, their first names briefly appearing at the bottom of the screen?

"Let's get rockin'!" Olmec replies.
"All right!" Kirk says in response. "On your marks, get set, GO!"

The Moat crossing begins, and both players on each team climb up onto boxy platforms on the starting side of the Moat to help them reach the fishing nets hanging about seven feet above the water.  Soon thereafter, the players begin to make their ways across on the nets, but the Red Jaguars develop a notable lead over the other teams in very little time. "Some of the teams having trouble?  You wanna keep moving, but you wanna hold on until the end? It's not easy!"
Sure enough, along the way some players nearly falter, but there are scattered dangling ropes which the players can use for leverage.  The Red Jaguars get to their fishhook/zipline after about twenty-four seconds, and both ride it to the far side of the Moat.  When they touch the floor, both get off, and the female Jaguar hits her team's gong first, after only twenty-nine seconds. "We got our first team, and here come the? ough, Green Monkeys gotta go back!" Just as the Blue Barracudas get to their zipline as well, the female Green Monkey loses her grip on the net and falls into the water, forcing her team to restart thirty-one seconds into the round.  A few seconds later, the Blue Barracudas land on the other side of the Moat and place second. "The Blue Barracudas are in! We need two more teams? and here they are!" Mere seconds later, the Orange Iguanas and Purple Parrots lock in within a second of each other, and the Moat crossing is over in forty seconds.
"We got our four teams!" Kirk declares as the camera switches over to him standing by the Red Jaguars and their gong, an arm slung around each player's shoulder. "The Red Jaguars blazed across the Moat? great job by both players! They're going on to the Steps of Knowledge, along with the Blue Barracudas?" the camera goes down the line to briefly show each of the other qualifying teams, with Kirk allowing for applause? "and the Orange Iguanas? and the Purple Parrots! The Green Monkeys and the Silver Snakes gave it a great effort too.  We got a nice gift for them for playing and here's what it is."

"The legend of Ka?ahumanu's Favorite Gown."

"All right! So the adventure is set," Kirk says in response as the camera cuts back to him, "and one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the Gown.  Will it be:

"Above each team, there's an ancient fishing net with a giant fishing hook at the end.  When I say 'Go,' they'll get up onto the steps and grab to the fishing net, and climb hand-over-hand across the net.  Then they'll each grab onto the fishing hook and slide down to the other side."

"What do you expect?" Olmec replies.
"All right then!" Kirk says in response. "Teams: On your marks, get set, GO!"

Immediately, both players on each team hoist themselves up onto solid platforms at their side of the Moat so that they can reach the overhead nets.  The players hang a foot or two above the water as they make their ways across the netting at different paces.  After a while, the Green Monkeys lead with the Blue Barracudas and Orange Iguanas not too far behind? the other teams try to reach for the occasional dangling rope (some of which actually have plastic fish attached to hooks at the bottom) for stability, but the female Silver Snake completely loses her grip and drops into the water approximately fourteen seconds into the round. "This is tough! You gotta both get on and both stay on the entire time!" Sure enough, the other Silver Snake drops down and follows his partner back towards the starting line.  Shortly after, the other teams approach their respective ziplines, and both players grab on.
"I think we got our first team! " Kirk remarks as the Blue Barracudas ride their zipline down.  Sure enough, they are the first team to reach the opposite side of the Moat, and light up their gong after just twenty-three seconds.  The Red Jaguars follow suit shortly after, clocking in at twenty-six seconds. "There's two? three teams!" The Green Monkeys bang their gong next, completing the challenge in twenty-eight seconds. "Just need one more?" The Orange Iguanas ride in on their zipline just as the female Purple Parrot falls into the water, and the round ends after thirty-one seconds when the Orange Iguanas lock in.
"And that's it!" Kirk remarks, and the camera cuts to him standing next to the Red Jaguars by their gong.  He high-fives the male Jaguar before continuing with his narration. "The Red Jaguars made it across with blazing speed, and they're going on to the Steps of Knowledge? along with the Blue Barracudas?" the camera goes down the line to briefly show each of the other qualifying teams, with Kirk pausing to allow the audience to cheer? "and the Green Monkeys? and the Orange Iguanas! The Purple Parrots and the Silver Snakes gave it a great effort too; we got a great gift for 'em and here?s what it is." Chris, Samantha, Nicholas and Emily will each be receiving a copy of Aliens in the Attic on DVD.

Episode 106

"The legend of ?Iolani Palace's Missing Armrest."

"Well, the legend is set," Kirk says in response as the camera cuts back to him. "and one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the Missing Armrest.  Will it be:
"Zach and Emma of the Red Jaguars?" the camera pans to each team in order, their first names briefly appearing at the bottom of the screen?
"Stephen and Jessika of the Blue Barracudas,
"Hunter and Danielle of the Green Monkeys,
"William and Lizzie of the Orange Iguanas,
"Jason and Alycea of the Purple Parrots,
"Or Damian and Hannah of the Silver Snakes?"

"They'll have to pass some tough physical and mental tests," Kirk says, "and in the end, only one team will earn the right to enter Olmec's Temple.  But first, they'll have to cross the Moat, and here's how they'll have to do it today?
"One player from each team is holding an ancient Hawaiian surfboard.  When I say 'Go,' he'll put the surfboard into the Moat, stand on it and go across by climbing hand-over-hand on the knotted rope over his head.
"This rock is ready to roll!" Olmec replies.
"All right!" Kirk says in response. "On your marks, get set, GO!"

On "Go," the female players from the Red Jaguars, Blue Barracudas and Green Monkeys put their surfboards in the water and stand on them, as do the male players from the other three teams.  It doesn't take very long for the male Orange Iguana and the male Silver Snake to make it to the other side? they only need about twelve seconds to reach the far end of the Moat with the help of their knotted ropes.  The female Blue Barracuda and the girl from the Green Monkeys make it across a few seconds later as well, prompting their partners to pull on the ropes tethered to their respective surfboards.  However, both of their partners? along with the female Orange Iguana? lose grip on the rope during their frantic pulling, which enables the female Purple Parrot to catch up to the Silver Snake.  Both girls get their surfboards just under thirty seconds into the round.
"Everybody's doing great, they gotta keep their balance," Kirk commentates as the other players follow suit, "and I think we're gonna see who's first in a minute!" The male Blue Barracuda and the female Silver Snake actually start to fall behind, having trouble staying on the surfboards. "It's tough to keep your balance, but our teams are doing good! Who's gonna be first??" Within three seconds (:41 to :44), three different gongs light up. "We got Purple Parrots? Green Monkeys? Red Jaguars! We need one more team?!" The other team members struggle for the lead, but thanks to the female Silver Snake finally losing grip on the surfboard, the girl from the Orange Iguanas manages to make it to the other end before her, and ends the round after fifty seconds.
"That's it! We got our four teams!" Kirk declares, and the camera cuts to him celebrating with the Red Jaguars around their gong. "The Red Jaguars made it across, no problem at all, and they're going on to the Steps of Knowledge, along with the Green Monkeys?" the camera goes down the line to show each of the other qualifying teams, with Kirk pausing to allow the audience to cheer? "and the Orange Iguanas? and the Purple Parrots! The Blue Barracudas and the Silver Snakes both gave it a great effort, and they're not going away empty-handed.  Here's what we got for them?"
Dee reads the consolation prize:
"Look at the entertaining fun you'll have when you strap on Moon Shoes! Super excitement is yours when you bounce higher than ever! Don't leave earth without Moon Shoes, from Big Time Toys!"[/size]

Faint orange lights underneath Olmec turn on, and the camera cuts to a close-up of him as he replies:
"The Yamato Arrow of Empress Jing?."

"All right! Well, the adventure is set," Kirk says in response as the camera cuts back to him, "and one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the Arrow.  Will it be:
"Nik and Kelsey of the Red Jaguars?" the camera pans to each team in order, their first names briefly appearing at the bottom of the screen?
"Ethan and Brenda of the Blue Barracudas,
"Leo and Emily of the Green Monkeys,
"Jay and Kendall of the Orange Iguanas,
"Matthew and Megan of the Purple Parrots,
"Or Quinten and Teresa of the Silver Snakes?"

"They'll have to pass some tough physical and mental tests," Kirk says, "but in the end, only one team will earn the right to enter Olmec's Temple.  But first, they'll have to cross the Moat, and here's how they'll have to do it today?
" When I say 'Go,' one player from each team will? step? onto one of the steps in front of him and move, one at a time, until he makes it across.  But, if he takes too long, the step will sink and he'll fall into the water, and then he'll have to go back and start again.  Once the first player's across, it's his partner's turn to follow him."
"As soon as the second player jumps down onto the deck, it's his job to run over here and hit the gong." He hits the top button on the Red Jaguars' gong? which lights up red? to demonstrate. "The first four teams to hit their gongs will be going into the next round.  Are we ready, teams?"
The players all cheer and shout in response.
"Olmec, are you ready?" asks Kirk.
"I was sculpted ready!" Olmec replies.
"All right, then let's get started!" Kirk shouts in response. "On your marks, get set, GO!"

On ?Go,? all the teams except for the Blue Barracudas and Orange Iguanas (who do the opposite) send their female players to cross the Moat first.  The male Orange Iguana has a rough start? sinking at the first step for taking too long? while the other players make quicker progress and are all at the second or third step after the first seven seconds of the round.  Nobody else has to restart for a while; eventually the female Red Jaguar is the first player to get to the other side, requiring twenty-one seconds.
?Red Jaguars across, other teams right behind?? Kirk narrates as the Silver Snake joins the Jaguar. ?You gotta move fast, you gotta keep moving!? The male Orange Iguana has to restart again at the :23 mark.  Soon after, the other teams? first players make it across, allowing their partners to start.  Most of the second players progress at a fair pace, but the boys from the Red Jaguars and Purple Parrots each sink and have to go back about thirty-six seconds after the challenge began; the male Silver Snake soon follows suit, while the Blue Barracuda and Green Monkey safely progress onward from the third step. ?This looks tough, but I think we?re gonna get our first team in a moment?!? Sure enough, the male Green Monkey soon makes it to the deck and hits his team?s gong, placing first after forty-six seconds.  Shortly after, the male Orange Iguana finally makes it across.
?We still need three teams? here come the Blue Barracudas!? Kirk remarks right before the second player from the Blue Barracudas bangs her team?s gong at the :51 mark.  Soon after, the male Silver Snake has to restart once again, while the Red Jaguar and Purple Parrot are working on the fourth steps. ?Still waiting for two more teams?? Trying to make his way to the final step, the Purple Parrot sinks, having to restart fifty-nine seconds after the Moat crossing began.  The Orange Iguana has to do the same mere seconds later, putting the Red Jaguars and Silver Snakes in the lead out of the four remaining teams.  The Red Jaguar soon hits his team?s gong, in fact, at which point the Silver Snake is only moving on from the second step. ?Looks like it?s anyone?s game now? We need one more team!? He moves on at a decent pace while the other players follow and try to catch up, eventually being only one step behind him.  However, the Snake holds onto his lead, and hits his team?s gong a minute and twenty-one seconds after the start of the round.
?That?s it! We got our four teams!? Kirk announces, and the camera switches to him high-fiving the Red Jaguars around their gong. ?Red Jaguars stuck it out and they made it over with a flash.  They?re going on to the Steps of Knowledge, along with the Blue Barracudas?? the camera goes down the line to show each of the qualifying teams for a few seconds, with Kirk pausing to allow for applause? and the Green Monkeys? and the Silver Snakes! The Orange Iguanas and the Purple Parrots gave it a great effort.  We got a great gift for ?em and here?s what it is.? Jay, Kendall, Matthew and Megan will each be receiving a copy of Aliens in the Attic on DVD.

Faint orange lights underneath Olmec turn on, and the camera cuts to a close-up of him as he replies:
"The Written Draft of the Zimmermann Note."

"Ooh, the Written Draft of the Zimmermann Note!" Kirk says in response as the camera cuts back to him, "Well, the adventure is set, and one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the Written Note.  Will it be:
"Dylan and Melissa of the Red Jaguars?" the camera pans to each team in order, their first names briefly appearing at the bottom of the screen?
"Chase and Renee of the Blue Barracudas,

"They'll have to pass some physical and mental tests," says Kirk, "but in the end, only one team will earn the right to enter Olmec's Temple.  But first, they have to cross the Moat, and here's how they'll have to do it today?
"Each team is standing in front of a balance beam.  When I say 'Go,' one player from each team will get up onto the balance beam and try to walk to the other side, but if they fall in, they gotta go back and start walking across over again."
"As soon as the second player steps out onto the deck, it's his job to run over here and hit the gong." He hits the top button on the Red Jaguars' gong? which lights up red? to demonstrate. "The first four teams to hit their gongs will be going on to the Steps of Knowledge! Hey teams: Are you ready?"
The players all cheer and shout in response.
"Olmec, are you ready?" asks Kirk.
"You better believe it!" Olmec replies.
"All right!" Kirk shouts in response. "On your mark, get set, GO!"

On ?Go,? the first players on each team (boys for the Green Monkeys, Orange Iguanas and Silver Snakes; girls for the other three teams) step onto the balance beams and start to make their way across the Moat, and after a while, the Blue Barracuda, Green Monkey and Silver Snake gain a significant lead over the other teams.  However, eighteen seconds into the round, the male Green Monkey loses his balance and falls off the beam into the drink. ?This isn?t easy? they gotta keep their balance on the balance beams and make it across!? Around the same time, however, the first players on the Blue Barracudas, Purple Parrots and Silver Snakes make it across, prompting their partners to start to cross.  The Red Jaguars are a little further behind, along with the Orange Iguanas, but it doesn?t take much longer for them to get their first players across.
?I think we got our first team!? Kirk declares as the boy on the Blue Barracudas moves along the balance beam quickly, beating out the other, more cautious players.  Thirty-seven seconds into the challenge, he gets off the balance beam and rings his team?s gong. ?Yes, it?s the Blue Barracudas! And here come the other teams!? The male Purple Parrot and the female Silver Snake make it across after a little more than forty seconds of the challenge; the Parrot bangs his team?s gong a moment sooner than the Snake. ?We still need one more?? a fourth gong sound is heard. ?That?s it! We got our four teams right here!?
The camera switches to the Green Monkeys celebrating around their lit-up gong; Kirk high-fives them when he runs onscreen. ?Green Monkeys blazed across first, no problem at all! They?re going on to the Steps of Knowledge, and so are the Orange Iguanas?? Kirk holds for applause as the camera briefly shows each winning team? ?and the Purple Parrots? and the Silver Snakes! The Red Jaguars and the Blue Barracudas gave it a great effort too.  We got a nice gift for them and here?s what it is.? Dylan, Melissa, Chase and Renee will each be receiving a $50 U.S. Savings Bond provided by Starkist Tuna.

"Oh, the White Flag of Tamika Higa!" Kirk says in response as the camera cuts back to him, "Well, the adventure is set, and one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the White Flag so we can return it to its rightful owner.  Will it be:

"Each team is standing in front of a balance beam.  When I say 'Go,' one player from each team will start to walk onto it and try to make their way to the other side, but if they fall in, they gotta go back and start walking it all over again."

"Are you ready, Olmec?" asks Kirk.
"Ohhh yeah!" Olmec replies.
"All right!" Kirk shouts in response. "On your marks, get set, GO!"

As soon as Kirk says ?Go,? the boys on each team? except for the Purple Parrots, who send out their female player? get on the balance beams and start to cautiously make their way across the Moat.  After about fifteen seconds, although no players have made it across, the male Red Jaguar has a bit of a lead.  However, a few moments later, both he and the female Purple Parrot lose their balance, fall into the water and have to restart. ?Looks like this is harder than they thought! They had to keep their balance, now they gotta go back!? After almost thirty seconds, the Green Monkeys and Orange Iguanas are the first teams to get one player across the Moat; the Silver Snakes closely follow their lead.
?Teams falling left and right!? Kirk declares forty-five seconds into the round, when the male Red Jaguar falls again and the female Orange Iguana does the same. ?We need four teams? here?s our first team, it?s the Green Monkeys!? As he says this, the female Green Monkey lights up her team?s gong. ?We still need three teams, who?s it gonna be?? After fifty-four seconds of the challenge, the girl on the Purple Parrots falls into the drink and has to start over.  The girl on the Blue Barracudas manages to get to the other side not too long after, however, and lights up her team?s gong exactly a minute after the round began.
?Blue Barracudas are in, but we?re still looking for two more teams!? The other teams? players are almost even at this point, thanks to the players on the Orange Iguanas and Purple Parrots slowing down and becoming a little more careful and the female Silver Snake moving a little faster.  Eventually it comes down to a race between the teams other than the Red Jaguars to get to the gong first; the Orange Iguanas and Silver Snakes hit their gongs at the same time, but the female Purple Parrot is a split second behind.  The Moat crossing ends a minute and thirteen seconds after it began.
?And that?s it! We got our four teams!? Kirk announces, and the camera cuts to him celebrating with the Blue Barracudas around their gong.  He high-fives the boy on the team before continuing. ?Blue Barracudas made it across no problem, and they?re going on to the Steps of Knowledge, along with the Green Monkeys?? the camera goes down the line to show each of the qualifying teams, with Kirk introducing them and then holding for applause? ?and the Orange Iguanas? and the Silver Snakes! Faint orange lights underneath Olmec turn on, and the camera cuts to a close-up of him as he replies:
"The legend of the Weaving Shuttle of Arachne."

"Ooh, the Weaving Shuttle of Ariadne!" Kirk says in response as the camera cuts back to him. "So the legend is set, one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the Weaving Shuttle.  Will it be:
"Juan and Marissa of the Red Jaguars?" the camera pans to each team in order, their first names briefly appearing at the bottom of the screen?
"Kenny and Crystal of the Blue Barracudas,
"Justin and Jacqui of the Green Monkeys,
"Trevor and Vanessa of the Orange Iguanas,

"Or Chad and Kristin of the Silver Snakes?"

"Each team is standing in front of five swinging steps: one by itself, and then two pairs.  When I say 'Go,' one player from each team is gonna climb out onto the first step, and then he's gonna pick one step from each of the two pairs until he makes it across.  But two of the steps are gonna sink in if the player steps onto them and he's gonna fall in, and then he's gotta go back and try again.  Once the first player's across, it's his partner's turn to cross."
"As soon as the second player steps onto the deck, it's his job to run over here and hit the gong." He hits the top button on the Red Jaguars' gong? which lights up red? to demonstrate. "The first four teams to hit their gongs will be going into the next round, so teams: are you ready?"
"YEAH!" The players all cheer and shout in response.
"Olmec, are you ready?" asks Kirk.
"I was sculpted ready!" Olmec asks in response.
"All right!" Kirk laughs a reply. "On your marks, get set, GO!"

As soon as Kirk says ?Go,? the first players on each team (boys except for the Orange Iguanas and the Purple Parrots) grab onto the rods suspending the first swinging steps across the Moat.  All except the male Green Monkey and the female Orange Iguana choose the left step in the second row, however, and consequently sink and have to go back.  However, the Monkey and the Iguana both incorrectly choose the right platform in the final row, and have to restart as well.  Delays, mistakes and hesitancies by most of the players mean that the boys on the Blue Barracudas and Silver Snakes are the first to get to the other side, after about twenty seconds of Moat crossing.
?This is tough! You gotta remember where your partner went!? Kirk remarks as the female Blue Barracuda sinks on the stage-right step in the final row, which her partner never stepped on, thirty-six seconds into the round.  In the meantime, the male Red Jaguar misses the last step altogether and falls into the water, and therefore has to restart as well, but the female Silver Snake makes it across in relatively little time and runs over to bang down on her team?s gong. ?We got our first team, it?s the Silver Snakes! Still looking for three more teams, who?s it gonna be?? After forty seconds, the Green Monkeys become only the third team to get a player across to the other side, but the Orange Iguanas and Purple Parrots are not too far behind.  Their partners speed along whereas the female Blue Barracuda delays her team, which translates to the Green Monkeys and Orange Iguanas locking in at almost the exact same time, after about fifty-five seconds. ?Still need one more?!? The Blue Barracuda narrowly beats out the male Purple Parrot, who is just getting off the final step.
?And that?s it! We got our four teams!? Kirk announces; the camera cuts to him running over to the Blue Barracudas? gong and high-fiving the male player there. ?The Blue Barracudas just barely beat out the Purple Parrots, it was close! They?re going on to the Steps of Knowledge, along with the Green Monkeys?? the camera briefly shows each of the other qualifying teams, with Kirk holding for applause from the audience? ?and the Orange Iguanas? and the Silver Snakes! The Red Jaguars and the Blue? I mean, the Purple Parrots aren?t going away empty-handed.  Here?s what we got for them.? Episode 101

"The legend of the Thrown-Away Battle Plan of Pyrrhus."

"Well, the adventure is set," Kirk says in response as the camera cuts back to him, "and one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the Battle Plan.  Will it be:
"Cal and Katy of the Red Jaguars?" the camera pans to each team in order, their first names briefly appearing at the bottom of the screen?
"Scott and Lily of the Blue Barracudas,
"Michael and Colleen of the Green Monkeys,
"Jake and Nikki of the Orange Iguanas,
"Andrew and Emily of the Purple Parrots,
"Or Matt and Tori of the Silver Snakes?"

"They'll have to pass some tough physical and mental tests," Kirk says, "but in the end, only one team will earn the right to enter Olmec's Temple.  But first, they'll have to cross the Moat, and here's how they'll have to do it today?
" When I say 'Go,' one player from each team will? step? onto the steps in front of him one at a time until he makes it across, but if he takes too long, the steps are gonna sink and he'll fall into the water, and then he'll have to go back and start again.  Once the first player's across, it's his partner's turn."
"As soon as the second player jumps down onto the deck, it's his job to run over here and hit the gong." He hits the top button on the Red Jaguars' gong? which lights up red? to demonstrate. "The first four teams to hit their gongs will be going into the next round.  Teams: Are you ready?"
The players all cheer and shout in response.
"Olmec, are you ready?" asks Kirk.
"You should know that by know," Olmec replies.
"All right, well, I guess I should!" Kirk laughs in response. "Teams: On your marks, get set, GO!"

On cue, all the teams except for the Purple Parrots send their female players first.  The first players reach out for the first steps with very little trouble, but the Red Jaguar and Purple Parrot delay a bit and fall behind the other players.  On the other hand, the female Blue Barracuda is the only player already on the third step after only eight seconds.  In fact, the Red Jaguar spends too long on the second step and it sinks, signifying that she has to go back and restart (:10). ?Red? Orange Jaguar has to start over, Blue Barracudas are blazing!? Kirk remarks as the Orange Iguana also sinks, at the third step, around the same time, but other teams progress to the last few steps.  Eventually, the Blue Barracudas and Green Monkeys become the first teams to get a player across, approximately eighteen seconds into the round.
?This game? You gotta move fast or you?re gonna go back! Silver Snakes?!? Kirk shouts out hurriedly as the Silver Snake spends too long on her last step and it sinks, forcing her to start over after a twenty-second crossing attempt.  Eventually, the male Purple Parrot becomes the third person to successfully cross, after twenty-six seconds.  The remaining players? rates of travel fluctuate wildly, with some moving much quicker than others and some having to restart at different points.  Impressively, the Red Jaguar picks up speed and crosses the Moat thirty-one seconds into the round, prompting her partner to cross. ?We?re looking for four teams, it?s anybody?s game?!? Eventually, the male Blue Barracuda makes it across and locks his team into first place, forty seconds into the round.
?We got our first team? we need three more!? Kirk declares as the other teams inch toward the finish line.  The Green Monkey delays a bit too much and sinks at the fourth step after forty-four seconds, while the male Red Jaguar proves himself to be much faster than his partner.  However, it is the Purple Parrots who place second, right as the female Orange Iguana sinks at the final step once again and has to restart. ?Orange Iguanas gotta go back, but they can catch up? we still have room for two more teams!? The female Silver Snake finally makes it across after forty-seven seconds, but four seconds later, the male Red Jaguar gets to the other side and hits his team?s gong, earning them third place. ?Still looking for one more team!? Kirk remarks; at this point, the other teams? players are around the first or second step, but the Orange Iguanas are the only one of the three teams that still doesn?t have their first player on the other side. ?This could be down to the wire!? After a while, however, a gap develops? the Green Monkey takes the lead, followed closely by the Silver Snake, and the Orange Iguana falls behind.  After a minute and six seconds of Moat crossing, the Green Monkey slams down on his team?s gong? a split second before the Silver Snake? and ends the round.
?That?s it! We got our four teams right here!? Kirk announces, and the camera switches to him celebrating with the Red Jaguars around their round. ?Red Jaguars started off a bit rough, but they blazed across, and going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Red Jaguars?? he pauses to allow the audience to cheer, while the camera goes down the line to show each of the other qualifying teams? ?and the Blue Barracudas? and the Green Monkeys? and the Purple Parrots! The Orange Iguanas and the Silver Snakes gave it a great effort too.  We got a great gift for them for playing and here?s what it is.? Jake, Nikki, Matt and Tori will each be receiving a $50 U.S. Savings Bond provided by Skechers.

The Treasure Room / Rediscovery EP: The Secret Water Scroll of Nefermesi
« on: August 13, 2010, 06:01:00 PM »
Author's Note: This is one of the episodes of my independent project, Legends: The Rediscovery.  More information on the project can be found by following this link.

Episode 100px]

"The legend of the Secret Water Scroll of Nefermesi."

"Well, one of our six teams will have a chance to retrieve the Water Scroll," Kirk says in response as the camera cuts back to him. "Will it be:
"Pat and Katherine of the Red Jaguars?" the camera pans to each team in order, their first names briefly appearing at the bottom of the screen?
"Cameron and Kim of the Blue Barracudas,
"Ric and Natalie of the Green Monkeys,
"Tim and Marie of the Orange Iguanas,
"Geoff and Andrea of the Purple Parrots,
"Or Dalton and Monica of the Silver Snakes?"

"They'll have to pass some physical and mental tests," Kirk says, "but in the end, only one team will earn the right to enter Olmec's Temple.  First, they have to cross the Moat, and here's how they'll have to do it today?
"Each team is standing in front of five swinging steps: one by itself, and then two pairs.  When I say 'Go,' one player from each team will step out onto the first step, and then he'll pick one step from each of the two pairs until he makes it across.  Two of the steps are gonna sink if the player steps onto them and he'll fall in, and he's gotta go back and try again.  Once the first player's across, it's his partner's turn."
"As soon as the second player steps onto the deck, it's his job to run over here and hit the gong." He hits the top button on the Red Jaguars' gong? which lights up red? to demonstrate. "The first four teams to hit their gongs will be going into the next round.  Hey teams: are you ready?!"
The players all cheer and shout in response.
"I SAID 'ARE YOU READY,' TEAMS!"
"YEAH!" the players reply even louder this time.
"Olmec, are you ready?" asks Kirk.
"You know it," replies Olmec.
"All right!" Kirk says in response. "On your marks, get set, GO!"

The first players on each team (the boys, except for on the Blue Barracudas and Silver Snakes) grab the first swinging steps by the suspending rods as soon as Kirk shouts ?Go,? and they make their way out to the second row of steps. ?Here?s the transition: They gotta pick the right one and swing to the side, and it looks like?? All but the male Red Jaguar and the female Blue Barracuda fall by incorrectly choosing the left step out of the pair, but those two have to start over as well when they decide to stay to the right for the last row.  The other players are the first to start on their second attempt, but all those four players sink at the final step and have to restart.  The first team to get a player across is the Blue Barracudas, a whole thirty-two seconds into the round, followed closely by the Red Jaguars.
?But the hard part is remembering where you went? and you gotta move fast!? Kirk comments as the first players on the other teams also make it across; they get a little more of a chance to catch up when the second players on the Red Jaguars and Blue Barracudas mistakenly step on the left platform in the second row, which their partners did not move onto.  Eventually, the female Purple Parrot makes it across first, then bangs down on her team?s gong after a full fifty-six seconds of the round. ?We got our first?? two more gong sounds are heard almost simultaneously? ?three teams! We need one more, and it?s?!? The female Red Jaguar and the female Orange Iguana approach their respective gongs, but only the former?s lights up, ending the round after a minute and three seconds.
?We got our four teams right here!? Kirk announces as the camera switches to him high-fiving the male Red Jaguar near his team?s lit-up gong. ?Red Jaguars just edged it out, it was close, but they?re going on to the Steps of Knowledge, along with the Blue Barracudas?? the camera goes down the line to show each of the qualifying teams, with Kirk holding for applause? ?and the Purple Parrots? and the Silver Snakes! The Green Monkeys and the Orange Iguanas gave it a great effort too.  They?re not going away empty-handed, we got a great gift for ?em and here?s what it is.?
Dee reads the consolation prize:
?Look at the entertaining fun you?ll have when you strap on Moon Shoes! Super excitement is yours when you bounce higher than ever! Don?t leave earth without Moon Shoes, from Big Time Toys!?

The Treasure Room / Rediscovery Interview with Amber Paxton
« on: August 09, 2010, 09:32:05 PM »
Author's Note: This is not an interview with a real Legends contestant.  Rather, this is an interview with a character in one of the episodes of my fanfiction series, Legends: The Rediscovery.  The interview style is meant to closely resemble that of nicklegends? for instance, the things I said are in bold and Amber's answers to my questions are not.

Amber Paxton, Temple Run Victor, Orange Iguanas, Henry the Navigator's Missing Maps, Season 1

Thanks in advance for talking about your experience on the show, Amber.

No problem. :) Everyone went home after that, but all the kids that made it to the show got a phone call.

What was Danny like as a partner?

He was nice and all, but I don't think we would've been friends outside of the show.  He was an outdoorsy guy and I was the opposite at the time, although I actually started becoming more active after the taping because it was tougher than it looked... :o After that, I started looking up the original episodes on Youtube, and they were fun to watch... I think the first one I saw had another Orange Iguana like me get some helmet out of the temple.

The whole experience was a lot of fun and winning the grand prize made it even better.  I was 12 when I was on the show-- now I'm 16 and I'm happy its still on TV.  Brings back memories, you know? :)
