The Heart Room / Something weird with the temple guard
« on: July 18, 2006, 09:12:34 AM »
I forget what episode it was, but there was one where a player got caught in the Swamp, and the guard pulls him toward the Dark Forest doors.

If you want to hear a crazy Temple Guard sound effect, listen to the guard from The Silk Sash of Mulan when he captures the guy in The Laser Light Room. I can only describe him as a bird with a sore throat yelling at someone :?

The Heart Room / Kirk's Fogg-Ups - What are your favorites?

Also, someone was having some trouble with a room (I think it was the swamp), and he says "Some people never escape from the (name of room)."  When he said that, the contestants partner just shot him this vicious glare.

Something similar happened with the Dungeon. Whenever a contestant went in there, Kirk would make a comment about the skeletons, calling them former contestants. Also, in the first season, whenever someone used the ladder in the Dungeon/Mine Shaft/Well, he always said they were heading to the Pirate's Cove/Torch Room, and then immediately correct himself and say the Shrine.

The Heart Room / Worst consolation prize?
« on: July 10, 2006, 10:26:18 AM »
I remember they also gave away Disney movies, like The Return of Jafar and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I used to have The Return of Jafar, but I've never seen it. Other episodes had Chef Boyardee and Nestle Quick as the consolation prize.

The Temple Games / Re: Legends of the Hidden Temple Trivia

I believe it was the second-fastest Temple Run in the history of the show, right after the Mask of Shaka Zulu.

The Heart Room / Favorite example of bad editting on the show?
« on: July 05, 2006, 05:32:32 PM »
In The Secret Battle Plan of Nathan Hale, it is very obvious that the Temple Run was filmed at a different point than the rest of the show. It's a combination of Olmec's announcing of the artifact's location (he says it in a completely different voice), the fact that we don't see the artifact itself, and during the Temple Games, you can clearly see the Battle Plans on the Throne in the Throne Room. In my opinion, this is one of the worst editing errors in the history of the show.

The Heart Room / Season 2 Golden Moments
« on: July 05, 2006, 03:55:54 PM »
Quote
Olmec: Michelangelo painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel on wet plaster...
(Orange Iguanas kid rings in, cutting him off)
Kirk: Orange Iguanas!
Orange Iguanas: Uh, a scaffolding?
Olmec: That is not one of our three choices.

Speaking of The Missing Eye of David, another season two golden moment was that four-way tie on the second-to-last step on the Steps of Knowledge. The only other episode where that happened was The Paintbrush of Leonardo da Vinci.

The Heart Room / Name that Jennifer!
« on: July 05, 2006, 03:48:22 PM »
Jennifer from The Melted Head of Madame Tussaud. She was able to get knocked over by a swinging boulder, get up and win the game. She also spent the rest of the episode screaming at her partner, which not too many players ever did.

The Heart Room / Worst consolation prize?
« on: July 05, 2006, 03:45:01 PM »
The worst consolation prize had to be Agree Shampoo, which they gave to whoever lost the moat crossing in season one. I mean, do you really think these kids want a hair care product? I know I don't. The kid is already upset at not even qualifying for the Steps of Knowledge, then discovers his/her prize is shampoo. I'd settle for tuna or Ring Pops any day.

The Heart Room / Favorite Season?
« on: June 29, 2006, 03:54:01 AM »
Even when I was a kid, I disliked season three. Season two is my personal favorite. The variety of rooms, interesting temple runs, and the almost absence cheesy humor by Kirk Fogg (season three) made this season my favorite. The temple games were also pretty interesting. Season one gets second place for me.

The Heart Room / Kirk's Fogg-Ups - What are your favorites?
« on: June 28, 2006, 03:02:13 PM »
There was an episode recently that featured the Green Monkeys and the Silver Snakes. The Green Monkeys won the final temple game, and Kirk was trying to console the Snakes. He then called them the Silver Monkeys, and announced their parting gift. It just goes to show you how little Kirk knew about the show he hosted for three years.

The Heart Room / Season 3 Golden Moments
« on: June 28, 2006, 02:59:13 PM »
One of my favorite Temple Runs in season three that hasn't been mentioned is The Lion-Headed Bracelet of Chandragupta. Andrea was really smart, and although she got stalled by the door from the King's Storeroom to the Room of the Ancient Warriors, she figured out how to fix it rather than go around and find another way.

Another golden moment for me is during the third temple game from The Melted Head of Madame Tussaud. It was the game with the swinging boulders. As soon as the boy came back, Jennifer stood directly in the path of the boulder. It knocked into her, and she literally flew backwards! She then got up and helped win the game for the Orange Iguanas.

The Heart Room / Dumbest person/persons?
« on: June 27, 2006, 12:15:09 PM »
There are way too many dumb players to name, but here are a few I remember:

Kim from John Henry's Lost Hammer--She kept banging on the doors, thinking that was how you progressed. As soon as I saw that, I gave up hope on the entire run.

Ryann from The Walking Stick of Harriet Tubman--The girl ran into the entrance her partner didn't use. Her time expired seconds later.

Akela from The Golden Pepperoni of Catharine de'Medici--I don't think I need to explain this one.

The Green Monkeys from The Electrified Key of Benjamin Franklin--Although they didn't make it to the Temple, the boy hit the gong on the tiebreaker before Olmec finished the question. As it turns out, the answer the boy gave was not even one of the three choices.
