Time for a new rating thread! I wanted to make this for the past couple of weeks, but didn't have time due to being busy studying. In this thread, we are going to rate all of the "center of the temple" runs. The center of the temple runs featured some of the toughest temple layouts on the show. As a result, we had a lot of teams fail to even reach the artifact. Just like the "bottom of the central" shaft rating thread, I will make a poll every day and we will rate each center of the temple run. When rating these runs, try comparing them to other center of the temple runs. Other than that, you know the rest. :mrred:
Results:
Day 1 - The Missing Portrait of Hans Holbein: 6.17 (6 votes)
Day 2 - Ponce de Leon and the Lost Fountain of Youth: 4.33 (6 votes)
Day 3 - The Lost Whale Bone of Pytheas: 4.75 (4 votes)
Day 4 - The Mussel-Shell Armor of Apanuugpak: 10 (5 votes)
Day 5 - The Golden Earring of Henry Morgan: 8.75 (4 votes)
Day 6 - The Marble Armrest of Xerxes: 1.20 (5 votes)
Day 7 - The Helmet of Joan of Arc: 5.75 (4 votes)
Day 8 - The Ivory Elephant of Scheherazade: 5.80 (5 votes)
Day 9 - The Golden Spider Web of Robert the Bruce: 3.60 (5 votes)
Day 10 - The Lucky Pillow of Annie Taylor: 9.67 (6 votes)
Day 11 - The Codebook of Mata Hari: 3.60 (5 votes)
Day 12 - The Leopard-Skin Cloak of Annie Oakley: 8.50 (4 votes)
Day 13 - The Comet-Embroidered Battle Flag of William the Conqueror
Featured Episode - "The Comet-Embroidered Battle Flag of William the Conqueror"
Players - Jonathan and Olivia
Pendants - 2
Rooms Entered - 9
Final Outcome - Failed escape
To start off, our first episode will be "The Missing Portrait of Hans Holbein". :mrblue:
-
I gave the Hans Holbein team a 6 for their temple performance. This temple layout was very brutal and this team was literally forced to enter every room of the temple. However, Rachel and Keith were too slow to face such a brutal layout. Rachel took too long to enter her third room of the temple and Keith kind of stalled in some rooms like the Room of the Ancient Warriors. It was a good effort, but they should've made more progress if it wasn't for a couple of mistakes. I thought that this was a good run, but it doesn't stack well compared to other runs from this room space.
-
I also gave Hans Holbein a 6. Rachel and Keith were a good team, they just got an impossible layout. Though they could've moved faster.
-
I am going to move onto our next run for this room space now. Hans Holbein will finish with a 6.17 score.
The next run we will cover is "Ponce de Leon and the Lost Fountain of Youth". I will also add a schedule for the remaining uncovered runs from this room space. ;)
-
I gave the Lost Fountain of Youth run a 4. This run was pretty boring and nothing exciting really happens. James and Jessica were such a slow team in the temple, and Jessica had no idea what she was doing as a second runner. The temple guard placement was really cheap though. This was one of those runs where it paid to encounter all 3 guards. But at the same time, the team moved slow and didn't take shortcuts. They weren't going to win either way. The only good moment from this run was the temple guard encounter in the Observatory. :P Other than that, it was boring and the team would've done better had not moved so slow...
-
Of course, you would put Annie Oakley last. :P
I also gave Ponce de Leon a 4. So boring, and Jessica was a horrible second runner.
-
Yeah, I'm giving them a 4, too. James didn't use shortcuts, and Jessica backtracked into the Observatory.
-
And Lost Fountain of Youth ends with a 4.33.
Next run from this room space is "The Lost Whale Bone of Pytheas".
-
I gave the Lost Whale Bone run a 5. Nothing really exciting happens in this temple run. Brittany and Damien did make it one room away from the artifact, but they really should've reached the Lost Whale Bone had they not moved so...freakin'... slow. -_- Brittany wasn't too bad with her speed and she actually made good time from where she was taken out in the Shrine. Damien was way too slow to be a second runner though. The kid had a clear path to the Shrine and he still took his time to get there. They weren't clueless kids as evident by their quick completion of their rooms, they just moved too slow between them. Other than that, this run was boring and forgettable.
-
I also gave this run a 5. So boring.
-
FASTER DAMIEN FASTER! gets a 4.75 final score.
Next temple run is "The Mussel-Shell Armor of Apanuugpak".
-
Mussel-Shell armor gets a perfect 10 from me. This was one of the best, if not the best, temple run on the whole show. The whole run was exciting and Gator was the best player to enter the temple. Amanda didn't do too bad in her path to the Dark Forest, but Gator was simply leagues better and was easily the star of this run. It was awesome to see him run through the bottom floor of the temple with the camera having a hard time keeping up with him. This is how you run in the temple, folks! Amanda's cheering and Gator's speed make this run amazing.
-
I also gave it a 10, for obvious reasons. Gator owned everything.
-
And another superb ten to Gator's Episode  :monkeys2:
-
Time to update this thread. As expected, Mussel-Shell Armor and Gator get a 10.
Next run up is "The Golden Earring of Henry Morgan". :mrsilver:
-
I gave Henry Morgan a 9. Despite the flaws of this run, it was probably one of the most exciting losses on the whole show. This team would've definitely won though if Ashley used the Dark Forest key to the Shrine for a solo victory. Shem was a solid second runner and had the badass completion of the Stone Column. The best part of the run was when Shem reached the Golden Earring at the last second and both him and Ashley were very happy just for doing so. They should be proud too because center of the temple runs were never easy. This was a very exciting run and Ashley and Shem were a great team. Maybe it wasn't "Mussel-Shell Armor" perfect, but it gets a really high score from me. :mrsilver:
-
I also gave Shem and Ashley a 9, for same reasons. :mrsilver:
-
Thanks to the Legends Word Association game, I totally forgot about the William the Conqueror run on the list. :o I will add that as the last run that we will cover.
-
Henry Morgan ends with a 8.75.
Next run from this room space is "The Marble Armrest of Xerxes".
-
I gave Xerxes a 1. This is by far the worst temple run from this room space and there was NOTHING redeemable about it at all. Noelle and Pat were horrible players and did not deserve to go to the temple. The layout was hard, but these two didn't even come close. They still would've lost if the layout was easier. It should not take you a whole 3 minutes to complete the bottom floor of the temple when there were contestants who could complete it in less than a minute. :?
-
I also gave them a lowly 1. I don't care if they answered their tiebreaker question first, this team just didn't deserve to go to the temple. Levi and Candace would've done a much better job than them. The results would've been completely different if they had made it to the temple instead.
-
Give these losers the shit rating of 1. These two are disgraces to my team.   I'm referring to Pat & Noelle, the two slowpokes not knowing what to do.
-
I am going to update this thread now and move onto the next run. Xerxes ends up with a pathetic 1.20.
Next temple run is "The Helmet of Joan of Arc".
-
Joan of Arc is the only Red Jaguar run from this room space. Anyways, this run was just plain average and boring for the most part. But I don't think it was a bad run though. Eddie was a fast runner, but his temple time was short-lived. Mandy was too slow as a second runner though. She took her time moving through certain rooms and found the Tomb of the Ancient Kings key, but never tried the door to the Shrine. Instead, she took the slow Well Bucket and added two rooms on for no reason. This team would've done better if Mandy either used the Tomb key or Eddie went into the temple second. But still, the team did make it pretty far and this run is not a huge disaster. I will give it a 6.
-
Also gave it a 6, same reasons as TRJ.
-
Joan of Arc ends with a 5.75. :mrred:
Next temple run up is "The Ivory Elephant of Scheherazade".
-
I gave the Ivory Elephant team a 6. Brad and Ass Hair really should've made it to the artifact. They both made too many mistakes which was the reason why they lost. Monica wasted too much time on objectives at the beginning of the run, and Brad made some useless detours and missed the Shrine shortcut. They definitely weren't as bad team, but they did make some bad choices. They both made it far though in the temple taking into account the path they took. But they really should've done better.
-
Gave them a 5. Boring.
-
Ivory Elephant finishes with a 5.80.
Next temple run up is "The Golden Spider Web of Robert the Bruce".
-
I gave Robert the Bruce a 4. This temple run was boring, and the Green Monkeys were a mediocre team. Christine was a slow frontrunner and she didn't do that great in her four temple room tenure. Jeremy was kind of an idiot as a second runner. He struggled in a couple of rooms like the Shrine and Room of the Ancient Warriors, and he should've found the half-pendant in the Pit. This team wouldn't have won anyways and the most progress they would've made was the Jester's Court. Even if the layout was easier, I don't see this team winning. Boring run that I always skip.
-
I also gave them a 4. Hard layout or not, they were nothing special.
-
I am surprised to see someone give Robert the Bruce a 2. It was a pretty boring temple run either way. With that in mind, Robert the Bruce ends with a 3.60.
Next run we will cover is "The Lucky Pillow of Annie Taylor". :mrblue:
-
I gave Annie Taylor a 10. While Missy wasn't as fast or strong as Gator, she still did a superb job in the temple and the whole run is amazing. In fact, this is my most favorite win on the show. I don't care about the direct path or how convenient her layout was, she did everything right in the temple and that is why she won. She was the first center of the temple victor for a reason. Amazing win, and the ending is a classic. :mrblue:
-
I also gave it a perfect 10. Best. Run. Ever. :mrblue: You're insane and/or have questionable tastes if you don't like it. :mrblue:
-
Just to make a difference :?: I'll give it a 9. Though, it's one of THE episodes of Legends :mrblue:
-
And Missy's boobs get a 9.67. :mrblue:
And the next temple run will be "The Codebook of Mata Hari".
-
I gave Mata Hari a 3. This temple run is very forgettable and boring. Garrett was an okay frontrunner, but he struggled a little too much in some of his rooms. Especially in the Holes of Python. He made it one room away in order to be captured. Rinette though was a lost cause. She took her own sweet time to retrace his steps and watch how slow she moves through the Holes of Python. I would be a little sympathetic for this team for the one room away guard, but they moved slow and Rinette didn't seem like a competent player at all. Too boring and nothing special.
-
Looks like the results vary again. Either way, I personally gave them a 4. It was just a boring temple run, like TRJ said.
-
Mata Hari ends with a 3.60.
Our second to last run from this room space will be "The Leopard-Skin Cloak of Annie Oakley". :mrpurple:
-
I gave Annie Oakley a 9. This run was very exciting and memorable, and Chandra and Nick were a really good team. Their main downfall for this run though was that Chandra took the slow Mine Shaft elevator. The players still performed well though and Nick did a good job making it to where Chandra was taken out despite being taken out one room away. The temple guard layout was unfair though either way. So it was a good and exciting effort despite the Purple Parrots not winning. :mrpurple:
-
I also gave Annie Oakley a 9, for same reasons as TRJ. :mrpurple:
-
Annie Oakley finishes with an 8.50. :mrpurple:
No we can move onto our last run from this room space - the episode with the very long title. :mrpurple:
-
I gave the William the Conqueror run an 8. I know not a lot of people like this run due to the mistakes made by Olivia and Jonathan, but I happen to find it very exciting and a very good effort. Both players were really good, but they both made mistakes that contributed to their loss. Olivia shouldn't have wasted time in the Pit of the Pendulum and Jonathan shouldn't have wasted time in the other suits of armor. If it weren't for these two mistakes, this win would've been amazing and I would've given it a 10 like I did for Apanuugpak and Annie Taylor. Too bad they didn't win, but I thought it was exciting and a good effort.
-
I personally gave them a 7. It was a good effort, but too many mistakes brought the score down.
-
I'm surprised Annie Oakley got so many 9's. It was a pretty good run, but I'm surprised it got a score higher than an 8. :|
I gave the long title run an 8 as well. It was also fun to watch. If only they didn't make those mistakes.
-
Don't forget we are comparing Annie Oakley to the center of the room runs only. ;) While it may be weak compared to a lot of other temple runs, it was a good effort and exciting compared to other runs in that space.
