Best Legends Win - Day Sixteen: "Benzibab" vs. "Geronimo"
« on: September 04, 2012, 11:06:07 PM »
Welcome to the Legends of the Hidden Temple "Best Legends win" tournament. In this tournament, we are trying to figure out the best win in the history of Legends. Every day I will hold a series of different matchups that will feature two wins on the show. Your job is to pick what episode you believe is the better of the two. After 24 hours. the episode with the most vote will proceed onto the next round.

RULES:
- Each matchup will be open for a total of 24 hours. Once that window of time is up, the winner of the poll will be revealed.
- You are allowed to change your vote anytime during the 24 hour window. But the last vote before time is up is the one that will be final.
- All you have to simply do is select which of the two wins that you feel deserves to progress longer.
- You don't have to reveal your vote to the public, that is only optional. Your vote will be confidential until the 24 hour time frame is up.
- Please vote in the poll! The more people that vote, the more fun this tournament will be. All it takes is less than 30 seconds to vote.
- Have fun

***FEATURED MATCHUP***

"THE RUBY EARRING OF BENZIBAB"

VS.

"THE MOCCASINS OF GERONIMO"

This matchup right here is the last matchup for round one. Starting tomorrow, we will head into the second round of the Tournament and we will be down to 16 wins there. As the number of participants narrows down, hopefully we will have closer matchups. And the Freydis/Sforza matchup is still open for another half hour. I will edit in the results like usual once we are done.

Anyways, this matchup features two wins that I can hardly stand at all. Neither wins impresses me and I never understood the hype with either one of them. But for this matchup I am going with "The Ruby Earring of Benzibab". IMO, this win felt more deserving than "The Moccasins of Geronimo". In favor of the Silver Snakes team in "Benzibab", both Annie and Kevin were fast contestants. Their layout was simple, but they still finished with over a minute on a clock. That was no fluke right there. Although I remember everyone in the past gushing over this win. Its really not that great IMO and they wouldn't have had all that time if they were forced to take a tougher way like the "Imperial Wizard" and "Lost Taj Mahal Turban" kids did.

"The Moccasins of Geronimo" has to be the most overrated win on the show. I can't believe I placed this win in my top five at one time. Mitchell had to be the luckiest contestant on the show. Him opening the Treasure Chest was just dumb lucky and he was lucky that it opened for his temple run. That is the only reason people probably like this run because of the fact that the useless Treasure Chest works for him for once. But other than that, he basically walked through every room of the temple and the only exhausting objective he had to complete was spinning a Sundial. Oh yeah, let's not forget that he tried assembling the monkey at the end of the run. Maybe Kimberly was taking notes during his temple run.

Benzibab, easy choice right there. But I agree, neither win was impressive at all.

I have to say, though, that Mitchell knew exactly where he wanted to go. And although he wasn't the speediest contestant ever, he never hesitated and didn't get turned around upon switching floors three times.

By the way, is there any way to switch my vote after I choose one and enter it? I can be really indecisive, so as we eliminate more episodes and the match ups get harder, I may end up flip-flopping, even after I "decide" on my choice...

If you need to change your vote, just state what win you want to vote for and once the final results come out, I will adjust it according to said vote. Starting with the next matchup, I will allow anyone to change their vote at anytime before the poll ends. ;)

As for Mitchell, I don't he was a dumb player at all. I just felt that he was rather lucky with his layout. People say that he was a strategist by using the Treasure Chest, but I think he only used it because it was the first thing that opened in the room. I mean almost every contestant that entered that room would open the Treasure Chest, since it was the titular feature after all. He's even lucky that it opened for him. Look at other teams that screwed by the treasure chest not working - "The Golden Cup of Belshazzar", "The Golden Chains of Zenobia", "The Silver Saddle Horn of Hannibal". And it didn't help his case that he started assembling the monkey after grabbing the Moccasins. After watching other solo runs compared to this, there is nothing special at all about it IMO.

Benzibab, no contest. But the fact that it advances and Galileo doesn't saddens me.

I guess I haven't specified my vote yet. I went with Benzibab as well. More harder objectives were completed in this win.
