Best Legends Win - Day Eight: "Annie Taylor" vs. "Cleopatra"
« on: August 28, 2012, 12:54:23 AM »
Welcome to the Legends of the Hidden Temple "Best Legends win" tournament. In this tournament, we are trying to figure out the best win in the history of Legends. Every day I will hold a series of different matchups that will feature two wins on the show. Your job is to pick what episode you believe is the better of the two. After 24 hours. the episode with the most vote will proceed onto the next round.

RULES:
- Each matchup will be open for a total of 24 hours. Once that window of time is up, the winner of the poll will be revealed.
- You are allowed to change your vote anytime during the 24 hour window. But the last vote before time is up is the one that will be final.
- All you have to simply do is select which of the two wins that you feel deserves to progress longer.
- You don't have to reveal your vote to the public, that is only optional. Your vote will be confidential until the 24 hour time frame is up.
- Please vote in the poll! The more people that vote, the more fun this tournament will be. All it takes is less than 30 seconds to vote.
- Have fun

In yesterday's matchup, "The Secret Map of the Bandit Queen" beat "The Silver Horseshoe of Butch Cassidy" 5-0. That means "Bandit Queen" will advance to the next round.

***FEATURED MATCHUP***

"THE LUCKY PILLOW OF ANNIE TAYLOR"

VS.

"THE SNAKE BRACELET OF CLEOPATRA"

I gotta go with the classic temple win right here - "The Lucky Pillow of Annie Taylor". Missy was a very exciting contestant to watch in the temple and her high emotions made this win very memorable. She may have not been Gator or Jarrid fast, but it was good enough to score the first solo win on the show. Just a great win you can never get tired of. I will admit that I like "The Snake Bracelet of Cleopatra" also, and I thought Robert and Tracy were above average contestants. However, their win was no very hard and exciting. And "Annie Taylor" is a classic, so its hard for other wins to compete against this one.

Definitely Annie Taylor. Even though Missy beelined for a direct path and wasn't so fast, she still deserved to win. I don't know how anyone could ever dislike this run.

People think you need to be Zac or Gator fast in order to be a good win. Or you have to face a layout like Jarrid and Jessica to be considered a quality win. While those contestants were amazing, other contestants like Missy, Tarrah, and David also had some solid wins even if they were not on par with the runs above. After all, I don't see how Missy being the first and one of two center of the temple wins being a fluke at all. She used all her shortcuts, was fast most of the time, and the run is exciting to watch on almost every view.

Exactly. Just because she wasn't fast and had sort of an easy path, doesn't make her a terrible player. I never understood why some people think a temple run is bad and undeserved if you don't move fast. There's so much more to a temple run than just speed. Plus, those center of the room runs were hard, and Missy overcame those obstacles. Since teams both before AND after her had such a hard time reaching their respective artifacts in the center of the room. Not to mention, Missy's emotional personality and the audience's complete and utter excitement is what added on to what an amazing run this was. I love this episode and temple run, if we ever picked an absolute "best temple run of all time," I think this one would be it. Well, either that or Lost Hornpipe.

Most definitely would I want to see this win go all the way also. And you're right, just for the fact that this run was the first center of the temple win should put it high on top of many lists. I mean look at most of the center of the temple runs on the show, and most of them came up short due to bad decisions made by the players ("Joan of Arc", "Ivory Elephant", "Henry Morgan", "William the Conqueror", "Annie Oakley"). Missy avoided the mistakes these players made and even won with plenty of time on the clock. If the likes of "Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress" or "The Lost Hornpipe of the Pirate Captain" didn't win, I would love to see "Annie Taylor" win.
