Well I have an actual excuse this time.
The internet was down in my area for most of the day.
Anyway, all things aside this topic still needs to be adressed. How we go about it doesn't matter at this point, as long as we decide what it is we want to do.
For over a year now we've been discussing the concept of moving the forum. This could mean many different things.
What we need to do is identify our choices of action and move from there.
Now we have a few choices. As I see it our main choices include:
1. Complete Forum Move: This would entail closing up shop and simply moving to a new forum with a new host. A complete new start.
2. Change of Venue Move: We move away from a forum host and establish a different kind of community. A facebook group has been discussed, however I feel that that would be just a fraction of the new community we would establish. This could be anything from a chat group to a complete website depending on what direction we go in.
3. Technical Move: While I'm not very tech savy I know several of the members here are. After having the forum backed up, if there is anyway we can transfer the data to another site, that could be a possible choice. Again, I am not sure at all if this is a possibility, but I feel it does need to be mentioned.
4. No Move: We stay where we are despite the problems Forumer has given us.
Now no one of these choices is perfect. What we need to do is discuss which of these are possible and what it is we want to do.
Ladies and Gentlemen, we ARE the Legends of the Hidden Temple community. When I started this forum it was nothing more than an experiment. While this is by no means a large community by the standards of the internet, we have proven to be an established community. The fact is, while the discussion mainted here is mostly through regulars, we have become a hub for the Legends fandom.
The fact is, this is not a choice that I alone should be making, this is something we all need to decide on. I'm open to anything at all, feel free to make suggestions. My main concern is that our community continues to exist. What we've established here in the last 5 years is pretty nice, and I know that no one wants to see it die.
Thank you very much, and sorry for the late post.
