VMA's, huh? I've actually been watching a lot of VH1 Classic lately for the music videos and That Metal Show, and I couldn't help cracking up whenever a commercial for the VMA's came up.  Background music was the Beastie Boys' "No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn" featuring Kerry King of Slayer performing one of the most evil-sounding guitar solos ever... which is a total disconnect from all the pop acts that were being announced.

No, I totally agree.  To be honest, there's so many ridiculous "more is better" ideas going on in X and Y that I think I'm stopping with Generation 5. :|

Buuuuut on the other hand, I've been considering getting the Gen 1 and 2 remakes some time because Gen 3 and 4 had the best game structures IMO.  Might as well grab them to enjoy the later generations' game structure with the nostalgic settings.

The Dark Forest / Why I fell off the face of the forum

Making a long overdue check-in on the forums.  I really didn't think it'd be almost three months since I even posted last, but let's face it, my interest in Legends is shot. I did watch the Legends episodes on '90s Are All That a few days ago, but it didn't really spark any interest, so I'm not sure if I'll really have anything to add to discussions of the show or whatnot.  Either way, I didn't really mean to put off updating people on what I've been up to or where I've been, but here's a few things I've been doing over the last few months:

- Taking prescribed antidepressants to muster up the energy to look for a job among other things
- Getting back into '90s first-person shooters like Doom and Descent, including playing them competitively online
- Keeping my interest in metal alive and well, including reviewing a song every night to build up writing skills
- Attending various career center seminars to help me figure out how to better market myself as a job seeker
- Reconnecting with friends offline and from other places online
- Renewing my enthusiasm for art with a new comic story called Hell Is Other Demons, which I intend to get off the ground for once

A lot of what I've been doing has been art- or music-related when I'm not gaming the night away, so between all those things and having no other way to contact most of you guys, I really haven't kept in touch very well and I'm sorry about that.  I might stick around for a while and check in from time to time, but I'd definitely like to stay in touch with some of you if there's some alternate way to do it.  I have AIM, Skype, Facebook and a deviantART account if any of those are doable.  Just PM me to ask for the Facebook account if you'd prefer to keep in contact that way, but I'll be happy to add you as a contact in any of those places since I'll probably be more active there than here.

Kind of pleasantly surprised that not even "The Lucky Pig of Amelia Earhart" was in the bottom 10.  I'm sure it's coming up soon, but still.

Olmecfan25 is our last hope for complete episodes
Aside from a few random episodes here and there, this is sadly the truth. :(
Unless you already got them all from the old links, at least. :P

I almost went with Heather and Casey, but Kim failing to find buttons for the doors for so long was definitely a bigger failure.  Kimberly actually wasn't on my radar since she did great until she entered the Room of the Ancient Warriors...

Kind of missed the vote for Purple, but I don't know if you wanted a tiebreaker, RJF. :P

I mean, if you're 18 years old now, I imagine you'd have to look for help on your own. :?

I'm currently seeing a social worker once a week to try and deal with my own depression, and the appointment to figure out if I need to have something prescribed to help is creeping up.  Have you tried looking around for a therapist?

But now that I'm out of school and the weather's been pretty decent here in Massachusetts since the middle of March, I've been working on finally getting my license and I can feel myself starting to improve.  I'm getting a little better at the right kind of thinking, and now I just want to work on calming my nerves and focusing without panicking...

I've been afraid of getting behind the wheel because I'm not good at thinking on my feet and I could honestly see myself missing some other driver doing something unexpected and not avoiding an accident in time where other people would survive.

Just caught up on the driving thing from the last page and man am I glad you're safe, TBK.  When you get to read this. :)

Might I ask why Olivia and Jonathan are even listed? I don't think their mistakes come close to anyone of the other Green Monkeys listed.

Anywho, I actually voted for (against?) Noelle and Pat.  Very bad Temple Run by Season 3 standards which felt even cheaper or more painful to watch because of the piss-easy tiebreaker question.  I would've otherwise picked "Pecos Bill's Lost Lariat," but I figured any team that missed winning only by a little wasn't as bad as only getting about halfway to the artifact in three minutes.

Seems to fit right in with Sturgeon's Law, too.  That is, "90% of everything is crud," but people often add that the other 10% is worth dying for.

Wow, $200k is just amazing. Good to know there are still some good people out there.
Indeed. Good people are out there, they just don't show their faces as often as the bad people do. :)
Exactly.  And for another example of how this works:

I don't know them personally, but I'm so glad it looks like they'll be able to afford those surgeries after all and return to a fairly stable life sooner than anyone could have imagined.
