Episode Tournament
« on: October 14, 2012, 10:29:53 AM »
Is it possible if we started another tournament, this time with all 120 episodes in it?

I'd be personally against it. It would take too long.

I'd still be pretty against it, unless we figured it out a way to break the episode amounts down in brackets. Or however else we'd figure it out. And, as long as it wasn't an outright game in the temple games section.

It would be where TRJ did his Tourney, and they will be in brackets that I'm planning just in case

Something's totally wrong with those rankings GM1. Cricket Cage ahead of Alhambra? :?

I hate both episodes, The Red Jaguars only went because of the failed tiebreaker by the Silver Snakes, so with that reason, Khan is surprisingly ahead of Alhambra, even though both will be kicked out by Atocha and Billy the Kid if we did the Tourney

You could always double up the matchups. Believe me, I have hosted plenty of tournaments that had way more seeds than 32 like we used for the "Best Legends Win Tournament". If you did it that way, it would take almost the same amount of time as the Legends Win tournament. I personally don't think of it as a bad idea and it would be nice to look at a whole episode than just a temple run.

I could even host it or set it up if you like. I have done plenty of tournaments on other forums and I could make an 120 seed tournament last about a month like the previous one I made. There is really not much to it. ;)

Since brackets are usually set up in intervals of 2^x, the closest interval would be 128. Since there were 120 episodes, four match ups could go unopposed in the second tier and move directly into the third round.

There are 120 episodes, and you can split them up into two brackets:

Bracket 1:
20 Season 1 episodes
20 Season 2 episodes
20 Season 3 episodes

Bracket 2:
20 Season 1 episodes
20 Season 2 episodes
20 Season 3 episodes

Too bad we are 8 episodes short of a perfect bracket. But there are ways around that. ;)

We could give the 8 episodes from the Quarter Finals in my Best Legends Win tournament a bye. That would be Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress, Egyptian Queen, Pirate Captain, Apanuugpak, Emiliano Zapata, Bandit Queen, Freydis, and Atocha would just move onto immediately the next round. Just an idea.

Here are my plans, we would use the 128-seed bracket, give the eight episodes that I seeded earlier a first round bye, then matchup just like the best win Tourney

I'd say most of those, not Egyptian Queen, Emiliano Zapata, and Atocha, I was thinking Annie Taylor, Catherine the Great, and John Sutter instead of those episodes

I'd have to agree with TRJ's list of eight episodes to earn the bye over GM1's list. TRJ's list was garnered from everybody's input in a previous bracket, not just a thrown-together list made by one person.

This is what I like the best. Episodes are split up in groups of 20 in two different brackets. Not sure if anyone is still up for this idea or this is what you are talking about right now, but I like this set up the best.
