I think we should do something special for The Golden Earring and The Discarded Seal instead of just having one person decide who gets first and second. I say whoever gets to three votes for first place first is the winner. What do you guys think? TRJ (he started this topic), would you approve of this or do you have a better idea?

I like this idea. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on which one is the best lost. A poll will allow everyone to voice our opinions and get a good idea on which one is preferred.

I will start by giving one vote to "The Golden Earring of Henry Morgan".  These two are incredibly tough to decide between.  "The Discarded Seal of Ivan the Terrible" had a better team and a tougher layout, but ultimately I think "The Golden Earring" was much more exciting to watch.

I have to give this to "The Discarded Seal of Ivan the Terrible" since both players were basically flawless in the temple, but failed to acquire the artifact due to an impossible layout. I mean they did everything right including running fast, taking all the necessary shortcuts, and Travis even made it back to the platform in the Pit.

But I have to say "Henry Morgan" comes very close to being one of my favorite losses. You just gotta love how Shem completes the Observatory objective in four seconds and grabs the earring with two seconds remaining. Both him and Ashley are excited despite not getting the grand prize. But the one thing that turned me off from this run was Ashley putting the key back into the tree and going into the Mine Shaft to be taken out. But I guess that adds to the lost.

My vote goes to The Discarded Seal of Ivan the Terrible. I think this is my favorite episode where the item wasn't grabbed. Both players were great, but because of the extremely difficult layout, they didn't get to the seal. The Golden Earring of Henry Morgan was a great run too, but I like The Discarded Seal run more.

I'm also voting for The Discarded Seal of Ivan the Terrible. Travis and Elisa were a flawless team in the temple. They were fast, never hesitated, always took shortcuts, and were un phased by temple guards. But it was that one room away temple guard that prevented a last second grab from the team. This whole temple run was exciting from start to finish, and this team deserved better fate.

The Golden Earring of Henry Morgan was an exciting loss too. I love Ashley and Shem's enthusiasm when time was up. They were so excited despite only grabbing the earring at the last second. Furthermore, both players were fast and knew what they were doing. The reason I'm not voting for that one though, is because the team didn't take many shortcuts. Ashley found the key in the Dark Forest, but she didn't even try to use it. Had she gone straight up to the shrine, it would have been a solo victory. And the shrine/forest door does open after Shem completes the monkey. This team deserved better fate too, but I vote for Discarded Seal instead. So with the "first vote to 3 wins" rule, I guess Discarded Seal wins.

Seriously, why isn't the Pendant of Kamehameha in the top 25? It was by far one of the most memorable losses on the show and in season one. Sure, the temple guard capture would've been inevitable for the team. But the whole suspense of the run along with the unusual temple guard capture would've ranked around 12-15 for me for this run.
