Another team rating topic! I know there is one already going on for the Blue Barracudas, but that one is almost over with. Plus, the Green Monkeys are a special team too and I would like to rate their runs. Especially since they have a lot of strong runs. ;) You know the drill now too. Like most rating topics, we will rate the runs on a score of 1-10. Remember to rate them on how they compare to other runs for that team only. ;)
First off will be "The Plumed Headdress of Cosa Rara". This was picked randomly BTW. I would never start off with such an awful run. :afro:

Players: Jessica and Justin
Pendants: 1.5
Outcome: Out of Time
-
I gave "Cosa Rara" a 2. I hate this temple run with a passion, and it is all because of a slow and lost cause runner named Jessica. :x She blew her run big time, especially when Jarrid cleared out a nice path for her with more than enough time. I feel like this run doesn't get the criticism it deserves. Everyone complains about contestants like Karisa, Kim, and Jackie for being slow second runners. But Jessica was just as bad as them but I hardly ever hear anyone complain about her. I know the layout was long, but it was like an easier layout for "Lost Hornpipe" and that Green Monkeys team won. This was one of the worst Green Monkeys temple run after "Dried Apple Half". Also, it was so BORING. :x
-
But aren't the Purple Parrots a special team too? Come on, the "loser team" label means nothing. ;)
And I gave this run a 3. Boring run, and Jessica was too slow.
-
Oh yeah, the Purple Parrots are special for being the underdog team. :mrpurple: The Green Monkeys though had the most temple appearances. Basically, every other day will be a S3 run since it accounted for 15/25 times in the temple.
And Cosa Rara is so boring and forgettable. Probably Green's worst run after Xerxes.
-
Xerxes and Dried Apple Half were even worse to me. Though Cosa Rara gladly takes third place.
And I really need to get started on my rehash topic of "Rate the Failed Escapes." Maybe tomorrow night, I'm too lazy to do it now.
-
I also gave it a 2. This is bad by Green Monkeys standards.
-
And the stupid episode about a talking horse gets a 2.50. :afro:
Next up is "The Lion-Slashed Jacket of Sacagawea".
Episode: "The Lion-Slashed Jacket of Sacagawea"
Artifact Location: Room of the Secret Password
Players: Mike and Lauren
Pendants: 1.5
Outcome: Out of Time
-
I gave Lion-Slashed Jacket a 5. I have nothing really to say about this run, except that it was very average and boring. I don't hate this run at all, but I could care less about it too. This is probably Green's most forgettable run. Lauren and Mike were slow players themselves, but at least they made it one room away. But still a boring and lackluster run.
-
I gave it a 4. Pretty boring and lackluster run. Lauren and Mike really should've at least reached the jacket.
-
They should've even won this layout. This run was exactly like Pirate Captain, except the artifact was in a different room. Lauren moved way too slow as a frontrunner. And Mike stalled a few times when following her path. If he had those 5 extra seconds, they would've reached the Jacket.
-
Yeah, they should've won too. Their loss was completely inexcusable. Whatever, better than Xerxes at least.
-
I gave it a 3. Not that exciting.
-
Lion-Slashed Jacket finishes with a 4.00.
Next up is "The Very Tall Turban of Ahmed Baba".
Episode: "The Very Tall Turban of Ahmed Baba"
Artifact Location: Observtory
Players: Shane and Jamie
Pendants: 1.5
Outcome: Won!
-
I gave Ahmed Baba a 10. One of the most groundbreaking wins ever on the show! It is better than runs like Pirate Captain and Apanuugpak.
All jokes aside, I give this run a 5. Aside from being a win, there is nothing interesting or exciting about this win. Shane's layout was extremely generous and most any average contestants would've won. Plus, Kirk's commentary was extremely annoying too. I would go as far as to say I like Trojan Horseshoe more than this win. I don't mind if people like it, but it is no where as a good as Freydis or Annie Taylor. ;)
-
Extreme vitoral warning.
Anyways, I gave Ahmed Baba a 3. I'm sorry, but I absolutely HATE this temple run. I hate it. I hate it so fucking much. This temple run is overpraised, overrated, unexciting, and extremely forgettable. Shane was just lucky with his layout, any idiot with the IQ of 2 could've won.
-
And PS, check out the "Rate the wins" thread that I just happen to bump last night. Look where I ranked it. Maybe you should re rank them too.
-
I have to say that Ahmed Baba is the most overtalked about run on the show. It is even talked about more than runs like Annie Taylor and Apanuugpak. That is one of the reasons why I can't stand it. Also, the win itself is uneventful and crap. Like I said, I like Trojan Horseshoe much better than Ahmed Baba.
-
No kidding. The more a run gets praised, the more and more I hate it. Put bluntly, I'm sick and tired of hearing about it. I hate this run, and I'm not gonna smirk at even the very thought of this run. It doesn't deserve anything. No accolades, no praise, it deserves sweet fuck all. I've never seen a contestant and run gets praised as much as Shane's run. I hate this run, and anyone who likes it just goes to show how very little taste you have. Seriously, how can anyone like this run? It's complete crap. And I'm not gonna sugar coat it and tell people I like it. I don't understand how anyone can like it. I'm sick and tired of hearing it. And I'm not gonna like it just because I get dumped on for criticizing it.
Sorry to rant, but the love it gets is absolutely ridiculous.
-
I think it is a good time for me to revisit the rank the wins thread. Good idea on bumping that. :mrred:
But yeah, I was one of those people that have never cared for this win since day one. I never understood how people praised this win, but always hated on runs like Nose Ring. Joel is kind of overrated, but I like his episode much more than Ahmed Baba. Hell, Joel's episode is actually one of my favorite episodes in Season 2. :mrsilver: I remember TBF would praise Shane for being a good player, but called players like Tarrah lucky. The reason I chose to rate Ahmed Baba next is to get it out of the way. The other Green Monkeys wins were better, as well as some of the losses too (Discarded Seal, Belle Boyd, Good-Luck Watch, etc)
-
And I stayed up until 2:30 AM writing everything down too. And it took me a whole hour. So now it's your turn to re rank them. :mrred:
And yeah, TBF also used to give people flak for dissing Shane. He would put Shane on a pedestal and crap on other players like Tony from Billy the Kid over ONE mistake he made in the temple. Since you know, let's bring down other peoples favorites just to make ours look good, right? In all seriousness, Shane was not that great, at all. Any average player would've won this layout. He just happen to run into less temple guards. I much prefer losses like the other Green Monkey ones you mentioned and also Leopard Skin Cloak. And latter episode is especially a better episode than Ahmed Baba. If only Chandra had won, but that darn elevator tripped her up. Oh well, still love that run regardless. :mrpurple:
-
I gave it a 4. I don't hate it but it's VERY overrated.
-
It's way overrated, and I never liked it from Day 1. Even the very first time I watched this temple run. Some things never change I guess. Shane was just an average player who just happened to get lucky with his layout. And the very worst part is all the fanboys who give you crap or dissing it in even the slightest. I'm so sick of hearing about this win. But, I've already ranted about this enough.
-
Ahmed Baba finishes with a 4.25.
Next up is "The Golden Spider Web of Robert the Bruce".
Episode: "The Golden Spider Web of Robert the Bruce"
Artifact Location: Chamber of the Sacred Markers
Players: Jeremy and Christine
Pendants: 1.5
Outcome: Triple Capture
-
I gave Robert the Bruce a 3. I am sorry, I hate this temple run. I know it has an identical layout to "Missing Portrait", but I felt that Jeremy and Christine sucked in their layout. They were both slow and Jeremy got lost in every single room. Plus, he should've found that half-pendant. One of the most boring runs I have ever seen. Oh yeah, I have seen it many many many times thanks to Nick GaS. :x One of the weakest Green Monkeys runs on the show.
-
Another 3. Sucky run for sure.
-
I gave it a 2. Possibly my least favorite Green Monkeys run.
-
I find Xerxes and Dried Apple Half to be slightly worse. But yeah, Golden Spider Web is pretty bad too.
-
I find Xerxes and Dried Apple Half to be slightly worse. But yeah, Golden Spider Web is pretty bad too.
Same here, I thought those two runs were suckier than this one. Also, I hate Cosa Rara more than this one. But I am glad that I am not the only one that doesn't think highly of this episode.
-
I hate Golden Spider. I hated it on Day 1. Who would find anything even remotely interesting or good about it?
-
Robert the Bruce ends with a 2.75.
Next up is "The Discarded Seal of Ivan the Terrible".
Episode: "The Discarded Seal of Ivan the Terrible"
Artifact Location: Room of the Ancient Warriors
Players: Elisa and Travis
Pendants: 2
Outcome: Out of Time
-
I gave Discarded Seal a 10! I don't care if this team lost in the temple, in my eyes they were one of the best teams. There is nothing for me to complain about in this run. Travis and Elisa were very fast and came close to winning with one of the toughest layouts ever. Plus, the temple run was very memorable and exciting. They got shafted with this layout and totally deserve a second chance. In my eyes, this was one of the best Green Monkeys runs even though they didn't win. ;)
-
Another 10. Excellent run. Thanks for covering this one next. I love this temple run.
-
And did I forget to mention this was the first episode I ever saw? And what a great episode that was.
-
I thought your first episode was Billy the Kid? ;)
But yeah, I think Ivan the Terrible was one of the first episodes during the Nick GaS era. I remember it being on Youtube at least along with Bandit Queen. But damn, that is an excellent first choice. If this was anyone's first episode, they would think that no team had a chance to win in the temple. :afro:
-
Nope, it was Discarded Seal. It was my first ever episode, and one of the few on YouTube at the time, like you mentioned. ;) But yeah, it was an excellent first choice. Back in the old days of YouTube, even before this forum. Time flies. :o
-
I gave it a 9. Possibly the best non-win ever.
-
We can move on from Discarded Seal now. This episode finishes with a 9.60.
Next up is "Pecos Bill's Lost Lariat".
Episode: "Pecos Bill's Lost Lariat"
Artifact Location: Well
Players: Colleen and Chris
Pendants: 1.5
Outcome: Failed escape
-
I gave Lost Lariat a 6. This temple run had an easy layout, but Chris blew it by moving so slow and acting like a moron. He had more than enough time to reach the Lariat and bring it out, but he screws around. The run itself was riddled with mistakes by Colleen for missing a chance at a solo win, Kirk for giving useless advice as always, and Chris in general. At the same time though, I do find this run memorable and a little exciting for Colleen's speed. Disappointing run, but it still was pretty fun and memorable. ;)
-
I gave it a 6. Could've been a win, but Colleen, Chris, and even Kirk blew it.
Also, who do you blame more for the loss, Colleen or Chris? Or Kirk for that matter.
-
Here is the order I blame them:
1.) Chris
<large gap the size of football field>
2.) Kirk
3.) Colleen
Chris is the main person to blame for this loss. He had 2:30 to himself to bring the artifact out, but he moves so slow and gets lost in every single room. Even after grabbing the artifact with 53 seconds left, he doesn't even come close to bringing it out. -_- This was an easy layout, but Chris blew his load. Even if he followed Kirk's advice to take the bottom floor, 53 seconds was more than enough time if he put his ass into gear. I mean David from "Lawrence of Arabia" got his artifact out in 25 seconds and he had one less room than Chris to run through.
Next is Kirk. He really didn't know what he was talking about in Season 1. I know it was like a "spur of the moment" thing, but taking the bottom floor was just useless advice. Luckily, he is a little more intelligent in the later seasons.
Finally, I believe that Colleen deserves some blame too. I mean if she looked at the Treasure Room bar for a second longer, then she would've seen the door open AND get a solo shot. But in her defense though, the bar was sort of delayed in opening too. So its not like she was completely oblivious.
I blame 95% of this loss on Chris, 4% on Kirk, and 1% on Colleen. This run should've been a win easily, but Chris just ruined it big time.
-
Yeah, that pretty much covers it. I blame Chris for this loss too. Actually, this run doesn't deserve a 6. It deserves a 5.
-
I would've given it a 5 too but I like how this is one of the very few runs where you can argue that more than one person was responsible for this loss. Hell, it was one of the very rare times where you can even blame Kirk. :o At least it is not like runs like "Enormous Feather" or "Anne Bonny" where Karisa and David were the obvious losers in those runs. Even though Chris was most to be blamed for the "Lost Lariat" loss. But still, you can argue that Colleen and Kirk also played a factor too. ;)
-
David was responsible for the Enormous Feather loss? ;)
But yeah, I agree. This was one of those runs where both players (even Kirk!) were equally responsible for this loss. Of course, Chris was to blame THE most, like mentioned above. But like you said, Colleen and Kirk played a factor too. And Kirk can be blamed for A LOT of things in Season 1. I mean, more often than not, he just did not know what he was talking about. :afro:
-
Gave it a 5. Man. Chris. Ugh.
-
Lost Lariat finishes with a 5.60.
Next up is "The Jeweled Scabbard of Sforza."
Episode: "The Jeweled Scabbard of Sforza"
Artifact Location: Room of the Ancient Warriors
Players: Lacey and Asher
Pendants: 1.5
Outcome: Won!
-
I gave Sforza an 8. This may have not been the best win, but Lacey and Asher were a good team and gave us a memorable run. And their layout was hardly easy when they had to face the most challenging rooms of Season 1. Even if their win was sort of handed it on a silver platter, it was still a fun run and it deserves the praise it gets.
-
I also gave it an 8. Great win, even if it was a little bit on the easy side. Plus, I love Lacey and Asher's enthusiasm when they won.
-
I usually wait until Brent gets a chance to vote, but I want to move on because the general consensus is that Sforza deserves a solid 8. If Brent wants to place a vote though for this run, he can do it next time he visits. ;)
Next up is "The Trojan Horseshoe".
Episode: "The Trojan Horseshoe"
Artifact Location: Tomb of the Ancient Kings
Players: Shawn and Lucretia
Pendants: 1.5
Outcome: Won!
-
I gave the Trojan Horseshoe a 7. It is definitely not the strongest Green Monkeys win on the show, but it was still a respectable and solid win. I mean Shawn and Lucretia didn't do a single thing wrong, and it was a good team effort. Although it wasn't a very exciting or memorable run. But in a season where there were a lot of bad teams, this run had a better outcome and team.
-
Yeah, I've been waiting for Brent to log in here and cast these votes too. These polls are dead. All thanks to me and my leaving for a month. =/
And I gave this run a 5. Boring, uninspiring, unimpressive. I don't know why you ranked this a 7. Next. =/
-
Trojan Horseshoe gets a 6 from me and I would have given Sforza a 7.
-
I have a question regarding Brent's Sforza vote (next time TRJ logs in here): How can you incorporate his vote and recalculate the average? Although everyone else who voted in the poll gave it an 8. So I guess it isn't too hard to do. But still, keep that in mind for future references.
-
If you notice next to each run, I keep track of how many votes each episode gets. If you want to adjust the vote, take the current score and multiply the current number of votes. After that, take that number and add the new vote. Then divide that number by the new number of votes. For example...
Sforza's Current Score = 8.00
# of votes = 3
8 x 3 = 24
Brett's vote = 7
7+24 = 31
31/ votes = 7.75 new score
Sorry, I kind of gotten away with my explanation.
Trojan Horseshoe finishes with a 6.20 also.
Next up is "The Marble Armrest of Xerxes".
Episode: "The Marble Armrest of Xerxes"
Artifact Location: Chamber of the Sacred Markers
Players: Noelle and Pat
Pendants: 1.5
Outcome: Out of Time
-
I gave Marble Armrest a lowly... 1. Taking a break from this show for a month has given me a new view on some of these runs, and I have nothing but hate for this team. This was an awful temple and team performance. It was like Pat and Noelle weren't even ready for the temple. They couldn't even make it past the bottom floor in their entire 3 minutes. What the hell? It took most contestants a minute at most to complete the bottom floor. -_- Even with their hard layout, they were absolutely pathetic. Even if Pat didn't have enough time to reach the artifact, a minute is good enough to make some progress on the top floor. Loser team and they don't give an ounce of sympathy from me. I hate this temple run more now than ever and they had no business being on the show.
-
Well thanks for filling me in with all that math explanation. My worst subject no less. O_O
And I gave Xerxes a 2. But I'm gonna change my vote to a 1. Pat and Noelle DID NOT deserve to go to the temple.
-
Pat and Noelle were one of the most undeserving teams to enter the temple. Actually, I will go far as to say they are the most undeserving team ever. I mean third in the moat, second in the steps, and winning one of the easiest tiebreakers ever? And then for them to crap themselves in the temple. -_- I know John and Tia were lost causes, but at least they sort of earned their trip to the temple. The Xerxes team's trip was just bulls***.
-
I agree. Should've been Purple Parrots.
-
Also gave Xerxes a 1.
-
Seriously, this team DID NOT DESERVE to go to the temple. Did you hear that tiebreaker question? Any idiot would've gotten it. Not to mention, Zac's little bro Levi was on the Purple Parrots. Who else thinks the Purple Parrots would've done a better job with this layout? They would've lost too, but at least they would've made it to the top floor. And no I do not just hate this run just because Levi didn't win. People need to stop assuming that.
-
Marble Armrest finishes with a lowly 1.
Next up is "William the Conqueror". (The Paintbrush said she will type the episode title out for me. ;) :afro: )
Episode: "The Comet-Embroidered Battle Flag of William the Conqueror"
Artifact Location: Chamber of the Sacred Markers
Players: Jonathan and Olivia
Pendants: 2
Outcome: Failed escape
-
I gave the episode with a really long title a 7. I thought this was a good temple run despite the mistakes both players made. At least Jonathan and Olivia reached a center of the temple artifact, which was not easy in Season 3. But they really should've won too. Olivia wasted too much time in the Pit and Jonathan should've saw the door open the first time in the Ancient Warriors. It was still a pretty exciting run and good effort. And I like how this is one of the very few runs where you can make an argument that either player was responsible. ;)
-
Next up is "William the Conqueror". (The Paintbrush said she will type the episode title out for me. ;) :afro: )
No, I will not Mr. Lazy Pants. ;)
And I gave this run a 6. Honestly, I don't like this run at all. This could've been an easy win if Olivia didn't waste time in the Pit. And if Jonathan had paid more attention to the Room of the Ancient Warriors door. I don't know, I find this run frustrating. Am I the only one who thinks this run is overrated? =/
-
6 felt too low to me, but 7 feels to high. Sigh. I decided to be generous and give it a 7.
-
I don't know if I will exactly call it overrated. I always have seen Battle Flag get its fair share of criticism everytime it is brought up. I personally don't have a problem with this run except that it was a little boring. And that Nick GaS enjoyed playing it A LOT. :afro:
Next up is "The Lion-Headed Bracelet of Chandragupta".
Episode: "The Lion-Headed Bracelet of Chandragupta"
Artifact Location: Quicksand Bog
Players: Andrea and Shaun
Pendants: 1.5
Outcome: Win!
-
I gave Chandragupta a 9! An almost perfect run which featured a solid player that was one of the best on the show. Andrea's run was very enjoyable and is sometimes overlooked in place of more praised and controversial wins. I honestly have nothing bad to say about her run or performance. It is a run that deserves all the love it deserves. It is a little on the forgettable side, but still one of the best Green Monkeys performances!
-
I honestly gave this run a perfect 10. It deserves it, as far as I'm concerned, this temple run was perfect. You go Andrea!
-
10!
This is my second favorite run on the entire show! Andrea rocked!!
-
No problems with me seeing people give Chandragupta a 10! It totally deserves and it is one of the best solo wins ever. The only reason I didn't give it a 10 because I think it goes to runs like Pirate Captain and Lawrence of Arabia. ;) And Chandragupta finishes with a 9.50.
Next up is "The Lost Taj Mahal Turban of Aurangzeb".
Episode: "The Lost Taj Mahal Turban of Aurangzeb"
Artifact Location: Room of the Secret Password
Players: Dean and Chrystine
Pendants: 1.5
Outcome: Triple capture
-
I gave Lost Taj Mahal Turban a 5. It was a very boring run featuring an average team. Even though it ended in triple capture, there was very little time on the clock and it is not like they were going to win. Although Dean should've moved faster and Chrystine should've found that half-pendant. I don't mind this triple capture though. Much better than Robert the Bruce at least. :afro:
-
Gave it a 5. Boring.
-
I also went with a 5. This is the definition of average.
-
Taj Mahal Turban finishes with an even 5.00.
Next up is "The Imperial Purple Robe of Empress Theodora".
Episode: "The Imperial Purple Robe of Empress Theodora"
Artifact Location: Mine Shaft
Players: Ashley and Joshua
Pendants: 2
Outcome: Out of Time
-
I gave Imperial Purple Robe a 6. Ashley and Josh came close to reaching their artifact, but there is nothing to say about this run except they both moved too slow. People blame the elevator for them failing to reach the artifact, but if they moved faster in the first place they would've had more than enough time. I mean Ashley is almost as slow as Kerry from Cracked Crown. It was just an average temple run with an average team at the end of the day.
-
This gets a 5. Boring and nothing special.
-
Also went with a 5. Meh.
-
Empress Theodora finishes with a 5. ;)
Next up is "The Dried Apple Half of William Tell".
Episode: "The Dried Apple Half of William Tell"
Artifact Location: Room of the Ancient Warriors
Players: Lauren and Brett
Pendants: 2
Outcome: Out of Time
-
I gave William Tell a 1. To me this is the worst Green Monkeys run on the show, no questions asked. There was nothing redeeming about this run. It featured an incompetent team, a really tough layout, an annoying ass screamer, and quite possibly the worst Season 3 player ever. I don't care how hard this layout was, Lauren and Brett were an awful team. Even Thomas and Veronica made more progres than these two. And let's not forget that Lauren had a full minute to herself, and she doesn't even make any progress. -_______________- I hate this temple run with a passion, and Lauren was one of the worst players ever!
-
I'm also giving this a straight 1. Brett was a slowpoke, Lauren was a hosebeast. Easily one of the, if not THE worst Green Monkey temple run ever.
-
HOSEBEAST!! HAHAHAHA
Never heard that one before.
I also gave it a 1. I often forget how bad this run actually is.
-
Haha thanks. I got it from another site. It just rolls off the tongue so much. I love that word. It's another way of saying "bitch."
And it looks like this run gets a solid, unanimous 1. It deserves it though, it's just a pathetic run.
-
Yeah, no surprised to see William Tell earn a 1.00. I hate this temple run with a passion and a "1" is a perfect score!
Next up is "The Mussel-Shell Armor of Apanuugpak."
Episode: "The Mussel-Shell Armor of Apanuugpak"
Artifact Location: Chamber of the Sacred Markers
Players: Gator and Amanda
Pendants: 2
Outcome: Win!
-
I gave Mussel-Shell Armor a 9. This was one of the best runs on the show because it featured Gator! Seriously, Gator was amazing and it is awesome just watching him rip up the temple. I REALLY wanted to give this run a 10, but I gave it a 9 for a couple of reasons. First off, I feel that Amanda gets too much credit for this win. Don't get me wrong, she was a decent player and very supportive of Gator, but I don't feel like she deserves much credit for this win. She was lucky that Gator was blazing fast in the temple. Second, I have seen this win many times so it sort of rubbed off on me. Just like "Bandit Queen", I love both runs to death but it is more about their male partners than both players. I am saving a "10" for a run like "Pirate Captain". ;)
-
Also gave it a 9, for same reasons.
Also, who do you prefer more? Gator or Zac? Just wondering.
-
I meant to give this a 9 but accidentally clicked 10.
-
Vote change has been enabled.
-
Tough choice between Gator and Zac. I mean both players were awesome and the sole reason their team won in the temple. And both were just awesome. And both players looked like cool people to hang around. If I had to choose one though, I liked Zac's episode better. Especially after reading his interviews and how big of a baby Jackie and Russel were. And Russel reminded me of the Green Monkeys from Silk Sash. :afro: So I choose Zac for this one. ;)
Apanuugpak finishes with a solid 9. I counted Brent's vote as a 9 too. ;)
Next up is "The Dried Ear of Corn of Sojourner Truth"
Episode: "The Dried Ear of Corn of Sojourner Truth"
Artifact Location: Jester's Court
Players: Eddie and Tess
Pendants: 2
Outcome: Out of Time
-
I gave Dried Ear of Corn a 5. I chose this episode because I actually watched it today. :P And my opinion of this episode has changed too. In the past, I use to think it was just an average loss where it featured an average team. But now I find this episode pretty disappointing. Eddie was slow in the temple (Fast Eddie? Are we watching Belle Boyd or Sojourner Truth?). And Tess was a lost cause. She looked lost in half of her rooms and had significant trouble with the Silver Monkey. I don't understand how people can hate on Ashlie from Dolley Madison when she was far more redeemable than Tess. Ashlie at least hauled ass in the temple and was doing great until the Dark Forest. But Tess was slow and clueless from the start. Boring and forgettable run. I know I am not watching this one again.
-
Yeah, also gave it a 5 for the same reasons. Eddie (who was NOT AT ALL fast) and Tess were very dominant pre temple, but completely blew it in the temple run. I totally agree that Ashlie from Dolley Madison gets crapped on WAY too much for her confusion in the Dark Forest. Yet everyone feels sorry for Tess for doing exactly the same thing. I basically second everything Stone Marker said above. Because he hit the nail on the head. The temple run was not only disappointing, it was extremely boring. Nothing special whatsoever. Oh, and it was paired up with Cricket Cage too during the "20 episode cycle" Nick Gas days. So.... whoo hoo?
-
I guess it was only fitting for this episode to be paired with Golden Cricket Cage. Two episodes I know I will never watch again. It was disappointing too because Tess and Eddie were pretty good before the temple like you mentioned. Even if Ashlie wasted more time in the Dark Forest than Tess, at least you can tell she attempted to try and find the correct key. It's not like she didn't know what to do, she just didn't know where to put the key. Tess moved slow and got lost in every room. One of the most boring runs ever. O_o
-
Then maybe you should've done Cricket Cage for the Silver Snakes thread instead of Silk Ladder. Now THAT would be fitting. :afro: And yeah, Dried Ear of Corn was a boring temple run and episode from start to finish. Throughout the entire episode, it just had that boring "feel" to it. Where every round was bland, uneventful, and just seemed to drag on forever. I remember I screencapped this episode a few months ago. And even then, I was just waiting for the episode to be over. If it's one thing positive that I can say, I guess it's better than Cricket Cage. But that's already a given. O_O
-
I gave this run a 5.
It's pretty underwhelming.
-
Sojourner Truth finishes with a 4.83 after 6 votes. ;)
Next up is "The Broken Wing of Icarus".
Episode: "The Broken Wing of Icarus"
Artifact Location: Shrine of the Silver Monkey
Players: Jason and April
Pendants: 1
Outcome: Failed escape
-
I gave Icarus a 4. I can't stand this temple run at all, and I dislike it more than Lost Lariat! Jason was such a moron and he deserved to lose after that awful performance. The layout was easy, but he kept on backtracking and running all over the place. And even after grabbing the artifact with over 50 seconds left, he still runs out of time right behind freakin Olmec! -___- This is not an exciting loss and it was painful to watch. Runs like Good-Luck Watch are more exciting because those players actually put up an effort despite coming up short. I hated this run since day one, and I hate it now too. :afro:
-
I gave it a 5. Too frustrating and painful to watch. I used to like it when I first watched it, but now I just plain hate it. Could've been an easy solo victory, but Jason blew it, big time. You could totally tell April looked PISSED after time was called. She looked like she was gonna cry.
-
Gave it a 4. Definitely a letdown.
-
Icarus finishes with 4.25.
Next up is "The Mystical Spellbook of the Imperial Wizard".
Episode: "The Mystical Spellbook of the Imperial Wizard"
Artifact Location: Room of the Secret Password
Players: Jared and Katie
Pendants: 2
Outcome: Out of Time
-
I gave Imperial Wizard a 6. It was a boring and uneventful temple run like half of the Season 3 losses, but the Green Monkeys did make it far with a tough layout. Although this loss was entirely on Jared though. He hesitated too much in some rooms and had no reason to go into the Dark Forest. But I have to give credit to Katie for her amazing speed as the second runner. NOW that is how you use your time in the temple as a second runner. Too bad she didn't go in first, they would've reached the artifact at least. Maybe Jared should've paid more attention to the temple run rather than the Silver Snakes girl. :afro:
-
It was the Purple Parrot girl, NOT Silver Snakes. And she lost at the steps. :afro:
And I gave it a 5. Nothing special about this run. This team would've been in much better shape if Katie went first instead.
-
If Katie went in first, she would've moved faster AND not detoured into the Dark Forest. She would've been removed from the Quicksand Bog and Jared would simply have to follow her path and had no excuse to detour into the Dark Forest. They should've reached the artifact at least too. Would they have won though? It was a really tough layout.
-
I don't think they would've won, no.
-
Katie gives this run some credibility. If not for her performance, I would give this about a 3. But I gave it a 5.
-
This was just one of those runs where the opposite player should've gone first. In this case, it's Katie. She was just an amazing second runner. Imagine how much time she would've left Jared if she had gone in first instead.
-
The question is, would Jared have been able to do anything with that time.
-
Assuming Katie would've left him with about 1:20 left on the clock? Maybe. But knowing Jared, he probably would've either made as far as the Quicksand Bog, or would've just barely reached the artifact in time. Hard to say really. =/
-
Jared was actually pretty quick himself. And with a direct path open all the way to the Quicksand Bog, there should be no excuse for him to make any detours. I think they would've reached the Mystical Spellbook, but I don't see them winning unfortunately. Imperial Wizard finishes with a 5.40. ;)
Next up is "The Lost Hornpipe of the Pirate Captain"
Episode: "The Lost Hornpipe of the Pirate Captain"
Artifact Location: Quicksand Bog
Players: Jarrid and Jessica
Pendants: 1.5
Outcome: Won!
-
I gave Pirate Captain a 10! This was one of the best runs on the whole show that featured the best team ever! Jessica and Jarrid were an amazing team in the temple and I don't think there is any layout they could not win (except Discarded Seal). I really wish we saw more teams like the Green Monkeys in this episode. The whole temple run was exciting and amazing, and it is definitely the Green Monkeys best run!
-
Another 10! Jessica and Jarrid owned everything!
-
And Pirate Captain finishes with a perfect 10! Like always, Brent can add his vote if he likes. ;)
Next up is "Ponce de Leon and the Lost Fountain of Youth".
Episode: "Ponce de Leon and the Lost Fountain of Youth"
Artifact Location: Heart Room
Players: James and Jessica
Pendants: 2
Outcome: Out of Time
-
I gave Ponce de Leon a 3. This is a run that I use to be indifferent towards, but now I dislike it. James and Jessica were a boring and pretty sucky team in the temple. James might've made it far in the temple, but he wasn't great and he only made it close to the artifact because all of the rooms were easy. Jessica was a sad excuse for a second runner and I could never feel sorry for her. She had a lot of time to reach the room where James was left out. I will admit that this temple guard layout was very cheap though. But like Lucky Pig, it was definitely winnable but the team missed shortcuts and moved so slow. This is a run that I have little sympathy for now.
-
I gave this run a 3. Boring and nothing special.
-
And Jessica is definitely a player I can never feel sorry for. Short time or not, she just had no idea what she was doing. Kind of reminds me of Rinette from Mata Hari. They were both sucky players.
-
Seriously, I can't believe anyone would have sympathy for her. James got taken out with 0:39 seconds on the clock, and that should've been enough time to make it where he left off. Jennifer from Blue Pearl took less time to get where Albert was taken out, and she had to ride the slow Well elevator. Plus, Jessica had a shortcut she could've used. But what does she do? She backtracks all the way to the Observatory thinking the Heart Room would open. -______- I do dislike Rinette a little more though because she didn't even try at all and was much older than her partner.
-
Yeah, wasn't Rinette like, 14 years old at the time? And Gareth was only 11, and even chubby Garret made better time than her. I also dislike Rinette a smidgen more because she just didn't try, at all. But Jessica sucked too, and I have very little sympathy for either player.
-
3!
-
It looks like Jessica's beloved performance gets a 3.25.
Next up is "The Good-Luck Watch of Empress Eugenie".
Episode: "The Good-Luck Watch of Empress Eugenie"
Artifact Location: Tomb of the Headless Kings
Players: Janeen and Jay
Pendants: 2
Outcome: Failed escape
-
I gave Empress Eugenie an 8. This was a pretty exciting loss even though this team should've won! :? Too bad, because the temple layout was pretty much set up for them to win. The main reason they lost was because Janeen was way too slow and hesitant. You wonder why Jay was yelling at her like Dana. Luckily, Jay was one of the best male players on the show and at least grabbed the Watch. But they would've won if Janeen got her shit together sooner. Plus, I do enjoy Jay shouting at Janeen and the temple guard that touches her butt in the King's Storeroom. Disappointing loss, but it was a good performance and memorable run. ;)
-
Gave it a 7. Should've been a win, but Janeen's hesitancy and the production error in the Jester's Court prevented that.
