Admittedly, if the evil organizations played as dirty as you would expect, I'd be a little more willing to suspend my disbelief.  Especially considering how lethal the Mons can be...

But then again, I suppose that's not as bad as Yu-Gi-Oh where the fate of the universe is left up to a children's card game. At least battling Pokémon makes some sense when you consider the strongest might even be able to control time and space.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the shaping of policy by public opinions actually called a democracy? How quickly politicians can forget what their role is...

And I can tell you it's not to just sit there, doing jackshit to help anyone else while collecting buttloads of tax money and exclusive perks.  They're supposed to be civil servants.

I swear, if only all the government officials were restricted to salaries of about $60K to $75K a year (the exact amount depending on the people's approval) and they did not get to collect all these benefits that regular workers have no access to upon leaving their jobs, we wouldn't be in anywhere near as bad a situation as we are now.  But somewhere along the line, being selfish and set for life became the norm, and the democracy as we call it transitioned to a plutocracy as we know it.

And how about restrict OUR government officials to anything under one million?

And at the end of the day, it doesn't matter how much the message gets thrown around if the officials are too stubborn to admit they're a big part of what got our respective countries in this mess and comply.  But hey, I think at this point it's still worth a shot stateside.

Okay, I would let the song thing go, but this one is just too fucking crazy to pass up telling the backstory.

Back in April, my school was making us study some religious festivals. There was one Indian festival (forgot the name) that involved a fire of some sort, and we had to illustrate it on paper. The guy who drew the fire in my group did it terribly: it was this huge tower of flames, widening at the top. Someone commented that it looked like a flower (which it did), and then went on to say... "That's a flower. It's a like... a flower of fire."
