The Treasure Room / Make Up Your Own Artifacts
« on: July 06, 2006, 05:42:08 AM »
I don't have a big list (yet), but I've thought of "The Lost Musket of Oliver Cromwell".  I'll write it soon.

Scratch that, I'm not sure I want a weapon as an artifact on a kiddie show.  Let's make it the Horse-Trampled Hat.

The Heart Room / Worst consolation prize?

Hey, they had NBA Jam as a consolation prize in "The Trojan Horseshoe". Pretty decent game.[/quote]

Yeah, NBA Jam is pretty good as far as consolation prizes go...certainly better than most of the tie-in crap Acclaim was putting out at the time.

Olmec: Michelangelo painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel on wet plaster...
(Orange Iguanas kid rings in, cutting him off)
Kirk: Orange Iguanas!
Orange Iguanas: Uh, a scaffolding?
Olmec: That is not one of our three choices.

The Treasure Room / Make up Your Own Kirk Entrances

When Olmec says, "And here he is NOW!", he opens his mouth really wide on "now" and holds it, revealing a cannon.  Kirk shoots himself out of the cannon, flies across the stage, hits the surface of the moat and glides on top of the water to the other side, at which point he stands up and begins his usual "welcome to the temple" spiel.

The Dark Forest / another new guy

Hey, I've already posted some, but I haven't properly introduced myself yet.  I'm Scott, I was a huge fan of the show when it first aired on Nick (I was 9 when it came on), and I'm in the process of rediscovering it.  I really like this forum so far, keep up the good work.

The Heart Room / Rock Quarry

I always wondered that too! Like... climbing up to Medusa's Lair would've been faster than filling up the bucket.

Yes, but whatever time they saved in the rock quarry, they'd lose it again trying to put the damn snakes into Medusa's head.

That's a good point. I shutter to think were I'd be right now without the famous Shriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine.

So true, especially his pronunciation in the "Secret Map of the Bandit Queen" episode, which prompted an "Oh my!" from Kirk.

He starred in and wrote (IIRC) Distortion the Movie.

Not to mention directed.  The guy's a triple threat!

Speaking of which, has "Distortion" been released yet?  I'd love to see it.

I've seen it spelled both ways, but I'm pretty sure there was no "u".  I appreciate your concern for my spelling abilities though.

Also they never had good video games, it was always stuff like "Porky Pig's Haunted Holiday".  Oh well, even a bad SNES game is a lot better than a tuna savings bond.

Yeah, maybe I was being a little hard on ol' Kirk.

I never really cared too much for the Room of the Ancient Warriors, because the amount of time spent while the Temple Guard caught you varied greatly depending on which Guard (spotter) was there.  Some would just turn to the side for a second or so, while some would spin the contestant all the way around and hold them there for five seconds.

Agreed, the Room of the Ancient Warriors was a cool concept but the temple guards took too long, as if they just HAD to get some face time in.  It was especially frustrating in "The Discarded Seal of Ivan the Terrible", when the second player was just a room away but then got held up forever by a temple guard.

Whenever he would screw up things that he said in EVERY EPISODE.  For example, I think it was "The Jewel-Encrusted Egg of Catherine The Great", where he stumbled all over, "Only one team will enter Olmec's temple".

Also, who could forget this witty little gem: "Exit, stage left!"
