Here's an interesting question that has never been addressed. Why did the Jester's court glow when activated?
Crazy, but that's how it goes.

You don't do nothing you don't wanna do
Be nothing phony about you
Keeping it real and do what you feel
You gotta eat
You gott eat Checkers!

Hm... Maybe the Jesters' court was actually a dungeon that housed the jesters whose hearts were too dark for the king's liking. As a punishment, the performers were sealed immobile in this endungeoned room; only if the secret motion was performed (pressing its hands and a foot (or head) at the same time), could the darkness of the hearts be released once again. Unfortunately, this temple was long-forgotten until some intruders came in...

Hehe... I'm bored. :D

I have no idea. Perhaps just because it looked cool?!? I still don't know why there were never temple guards there. It would have been cool if the temple guard could have been up against the wall then "come to life" when the kids entered the room. They probably would have been too visible though.

I think a better question would be why it didn't light up in some episodes. My opinion is that it just looked cool and that's why the production crew had it light up.

It seems that it didn't light up in season 3 three episodes, and also, that really cool laugh was replaced with some other stupid noise.

It still lit up in the third season.  But yes, they did take out the laugh (which sounds a lot more sinister after nicklegends' story).

heres a question. why was there NEVER a temple guard in the jester's court. I mean. they COULD have found A place to put him. whether it be a trapdoor. or maybe inside one of the steps. or a door like the heart room or medusa's lair. or if worst came to worst. he could just crouch in it and jump out when the contestant came in. and leave out the front afterward...(boredom if you cant tell)........

Anyway, I think in terms of the actual studio, it was done with blacklights.
