So you're saying that with my bracket, that the finals no matter what will always be Lawrence of Arabia vs Apanuugpak

It may not necessarily be Lawrence of Arabia vs Apanuugpak, but it would be two of the top-seeded episodes. There wouldn't be any competitive eliminations up until the finals (or final few match ups). With a random generator, there might be a number of competitive eliminations throughout the duration of the competition. There would be much more variety in the match ups, and while there may be a few obvious competitions, the random nature of the match ups would provide a better playing field for eliminations.

Regardless of when they get eliminated, "bad episodes" (however you constitute that) will be eliminated. If they deserve to move on more than their counterpart, then they will. That is the point of setting up this competition. Even if two "bad" episodes are matched up in a round, the better of the two won't make it too much further in the competition because there will be, at one point or another, an episode that is comparably "better" than it. But if you set up the bracket in a way that forces certain episodes to be eliminated before others, then you might as well just not have the competition in the first place, since you've already predetermined the outcome of the competition.

  I take that back, random will do just as long as the eight episodes I mentioned earlier have byes (Lawrence of Arabia, Apanuugpak, Pirate Captain, Annie Taylor, Catherine the Great, John Sutter, Bandit Queen, and Freydis), then Shuffle the others

Do I make sense in saying that using the pre-seeded structure ultimately will greatly impact the outcome of the competition in that, in a way, a pre-seeded list nearly always automatically eliminates the lower-seeded contender?

And also, in the poll, do you mean to say "Yes, with modifications" instead of "Yes, with modifactions"?
