Afterthought, yes, but? 340K? Why not 340J?
« on: May 31, 2010, 10:14:22 PM »
I know this could've been said much sooner, but I don't know why this hasn't been brought up in three years.

Remember when Legends briefly reappeared on the main Nick channel in '07? Well, something I'm surprised hasn't been asked was why the production number for "The Jewel-Encrusted Egg of Catherine the Great" was "340K"? suggesting it was on an ELEVENTH production day? rather than "340J." The rest of the episodes aired on Nickelodeon seemed to follow this pattern as well, IIRC, but didn't Nickelodeon tape four episodes a day (discounting, of course, the oddity of "The Secret Battle Plan of Nathan Hale") from the start of Season 2 until the end? What could have caused Season 3 to be taped over eleven days rather than ten?
If you have seen all 120 full episodes of Legends, copy and paste this into your profile for all to see.

Where does it say 340K?

EDIT: If you're trusting tv.com, the letter behind each ep number is one behind i.e. 321G instead of 321F. But it's tv.com, you can't trust them.

When artists like LMFAO, Ke$ha, Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jespen and Justin Bieber and songs like "Party Rock Anthem", "Call Me Maybe", "Thrift Shop" and others are succeeding in today's music industry and about 99% of the world is buying their shit and any argument you make is followed by nonsense from these people, you would wish the world had ended on 21st December 2012.

When Nickelodeon ran episodes of Legends in May 2007, they listed the episodes in their online TV schedule as three numbers followed by a letter. At first, they showed the episodes in reverse production order, starting at 340K and going back. But shortly thereafter, they picked a new order where they went forward from some other episode. If I recall, the Nickelodeon run was canceled before they actually showed those ascending order episodes. Please, help fill in the holes if you remember the situation... it was a while ago.

Don't Mind if I do, Ed!

The Legends 2007 run started, as we all know, on Monday May 14th, 2007. (Ironically that was my 20th Birthday, a great present from Viacom)

Episodes ran in reverse production order Starting with "The Jewel-Encrusted Egg of Catherine the Great" (episode #120), and continued to do so on weekdays at 7:30AM EDT until Nick announced on its website that beginning on Monday June 11th, 2007 the episodes would begin running in true production order beginning with "Blackbeard's Treasure Map" (episode #1)

Unfortunately for us, on Friday June 8th, 2007 instead of airing the episode that was slated to air on that day, which was to be "The Ivory Hunting Horn of Roland" (episode #101), Nickelodeon instead aired an episode of The Fairly Oddparents in its place.

To our shock, a check of the Nickelodeon website showed that the originally slated airing of "Blackbeard's Treasure Map", as well as all consecutive airings of Legends, had been canceled and replaced by more episodes of The Fairly Oddparents. This was probably done due to the low ratings associated with early weekday morning television.

Alas, Legends never again aired on Nickelodeon. And too bad, because Roland is such a great win IMHO!

The best bet I'm at right now is that it was a typo. I can't really think of any other reason why they'd have to film Season 3, when they were probably getting very efficient with their production, over a period of 11 days.

What was the earliest episode in Season 3 that was shown during this stretch, and what was its letter?

The earliest episode was "The Royal Torque of Queen Boadicea" (epsiode #102)

I don't know its letter for sure, but if it was 4 episodes a day for Season 3 (With no postponements) then the episode would have been 322F.
