Legends of Hidden Temple DVD?
« on: August 18, 2007, 01:09:54 PM »
So its been announced that Nick GAS will be taken off the air by January 2008. Nick released 2 DVDs in May (Clarissa Explains It All, Pete And Pete).

At the top of the DVD's it says "Nickelodeon Rewind Collection". I wouldnt exactly call 2 DVD's a collection. Is it possible that Nickelodeon will release a LOTHT DVD by the time Nick GAS goes off the air? I dont feel like recording every episode.

Also, does anyone know where I can get a DVD besides eBay? The only website I found where you can get classic Nick Shows is here-

I'll tell you, I've been contemplating this since early 2005, but it seems very unlikely after all I've learned. Even if we get past the Viacom issue, I think they also need to sign release papers to put the episodes on DVD. I may be wrong, but I think Renegade once told me that that would call for all the participants on the show to sign a release paper, including those who never past the moat.

12 kids per episod multiplied by the 120 episodes produced= 1440 kids.

Of course, even if I'm wrong about all of that, Nick never seemd that enthusiastic about bringing Legends back.

So, in conclusion, it is VERY unlikely. I'm sorry, take it from me, we would all love for it to happen, but honestly, it's not likely.
Crazy, but that's how it goes.

Forgive my lack of understanding, but why would the kids need to sign for a DVD release? I would assume, since the recordings are Nickelodeon's property and have already been shown commercially, that such a step would be unnecessary.

That would be so cool if they brought LOTHT on DVD.  It really stinks because I don't have nick gas so I just watch the episodes of Legends when it was on nick and right now they're getting really old.

I got to thinking about it and I figured the same.

My advice would be to ask Renegade since he was the one who first mentioned it.

Well you wouldn't have to get permission from the contestants to be on the dvd. When you go on any gameshow they make you sign a contract stating that you allow them to show your image on that show and are able to make profit off of that show in any format without any kind of consulting later on. Much in the way that the low key actors don't recieve any royalty checks from movies they appeared in.
