As you guys more than likely already know, the show introduced the Rock Quarry in part of Season 2.  I liked this setup more than the Wheel Room of the previous season, but it got me thinking.  There was space in the Rock Quarry to still access the door to Medusa's Lair.  Nobody actually tried this, but do you guys think that it could have been possible to go to Medusa's Lair from the Rock Quarry?  Or, do you think the crew simply deactivated the actuator for the week or two that the Rock Quarry was there.

I suppose they could have jumped in the bucket and climbed into the lair, but I only saw one episode from that layout and they filled the bucket.
Crazy, but that's how it goes.

Keeping it real and do what you feel

You gott eat Checkers!

I think the bucket wasn't controled by the rocks, rather by stagehands who lifted the slab after the contestant fulfilled the requirement.

But yeah, I think the Medusa's Lair door was deactivated.

I always wondered that too! Like... climbing up to Medusa's Lair would've been faster than filling up the bucket. I figured it would've been deactivated anyways though. Oh well.... we'll never know.

PS, The Rock Quarry/Troubled Bridge = my favorite "pit" space in the temple. :P

Yes, but whatever time they saved in the rock quarry, they'd lose it again trying to put the damn snakes into Medusa's head.

The door was officially deactivated, even when a team grabbed the artifact. I'm not sure why, bit it was.

Good idea, though. It would have made for some VERY interesting temple designs. Could you imagine a design that forces the player up through the Crypt, up into the Observatory, down to Medusa's Lair, then into the Rock Quarry, then into the Laser Light Room and on through the rest of the temple? That would be a very tricky design!

Oooooh, yeah! That woulda been awesome though. They coulda had so much more to work with. They could've hid an artifact in like the Swamp and had the kids go up into the Observatory, then over to the King's Storeroom, thenbacktrack to Medusa's Lair and into the Rock Quarry, then through the Laser Light Room and finally into the Swamp to grab the artifact.... IMO, that would be a harder design than some of the actual designs they had on the show. :P

Yeah, I've thought of things like that too.

In the Wheel Room, if a player could squeeze behind the wheel & get to The Heart Room/Room of the Fallen Columns & the bottom door to the Cave of Size. It would've been interesting.

Yeah, that would be cool if they had to go down the central shaft & make an additional stop to the Rock Quarry along the way!
