This order makes the most sense:

Do we know that for sure? Because I'm fairly certain the episodes aired out of production order.

I at least know for a fact seasons two and three did. I have several episodes recorded on VHS off of their original broadcasts.

Here's the order I have some season two episodes in:

The Electrified Key of Benjamin Franklin -> The Silver Cannonball of Grandy Nanny -> The Bone Necklace of the Blackfeet Chief -> The Milk Bucket of Freydis

And there's two season three episodes I can confirm the date they aired, since a Nick Days segment aired during the commercial break. I'll have to look and see (I don't know it off the top of my head) but I can check it and add it here.

First off, the air dates for Season 1 are incorrect. Lawrence of Arabia was one of the last episodes taped, but it was the first episode to ever air on Nickelodeon. May I ask where the dates next to each of the episodes came from?

In regards to your list, it is entirely wrong. The official episode list posted on the King's Storeroom (http://nicklegends.elfractal.com/episodelist.html)  is the most accurate list. We know for a fact that episode list is accurate for several reasons:

- Back in 2007, Nickelodeon aired Season 3 Legends episodes for about a month. They started with the very last episode (Catherine the Great), and aired them all the way to Queen Boadicea. Due to the lack of popularity though, they haven't aired more episodes since then.

- After Nickelodeon stopped airing Legends episode, Nick GaS all of a sudden started airing Season 3 episodes in production order. The episodes order they aired for Season 3 matched the episode order Nickelodeon aired for Season 3. After Nick GaS finished Season 3, they started with Season 1 again and taped the rest of the episodes in production order. That us how we got the official list that was posted on the King's Storeroom.

There is plenty of evidence that supports the episode list posted on the King's Storeroom. The biggest piece of evidence is that official sources  like Teen Nick and iTunes have referenced their Legends episodes by production number. For example, when Teen Nick aired "Henry VIII's Great Seal", the official TV guide referenced it as 1X16. But by going your list, "Lost Fountain of Youth" would be 1x16 which is unfortunately incorrect.

Your episode list seems to go by temple run order, which might not be completely inaccurate. After all, you're completely right about the "Nathan Hale" run being taped after the "Billy the Kid" run. But "Nathan Hale" is considered EP42 (2x02), not EP72.  But the episode list posted on the King's Storeroom is indeed the correct episode order and it has been confirmed by multiple sources. So if you want an accurate episode list for the Legends wiki, I would suggest you follow the one on the King's Storeroom.

And like PAK Man posted, the episodes were not always aired by their official production number either. As I mentioned, "Lawrence of Arabia" was the first episode ever shown on Nickelodeon. But it was one of the last episodes produced.

I know those orders don't make any sense, but I remember reading that the golden jaguar, codebook, and mask episodes aired as episodes 2, 3, and 7.

Y'know, the nonsensical order that you told me about with "Blackbeard's Treasure Map" being the first episode and not the 18th might be the order Nickelodeon wrote the scripts for the episodes.

There's actually plenty of evidence that "Galileo's Cannonball" was the first episode ever completed. You can tell by Kirk asking "Jammin' Jon" and Jennifer Holtz about their strategy and where they think the guards are. I think "Blackbeard's Treasure Map" was originally going to be in the first layout until the crew forgot.

If you look closely during the temple games in Season 2 and 3, you can see other artifacts from that day also hiding in the temple.

You can tell the episode is rushed because of the bad editing and lack of credits during the temple ending. But for official production purposes, this episode is EP001.

I was wondering what room the treasure map was originally going to be in before the whole episode was postponed to the fifth layout. I know that the secret battle plan was originally going to be in the Throne Room before the run was postponed to the 14th layout (when it was moved to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey).

That's a good question. Since the Dungeon was not available during S1L1, the artifact had to be located in another room. We can assume that the artifact might've been kept in the same room space. In this case, it would've been located in the Mine Shaft if it was still in S1L1. It wouldn't be too surprising since the Cannonball and Dead Man's Hand were located there.

And you're right about Nathan Hale's episode too. The Battle Plan was originally located in the Throne Room for S2L1. But it was moved to the Shrine because the Throne Room did not exist in S2L5. Plus, when Olmec reveals the location of the artifact after the legend, we don't see a close-up of it in the Shrine. An interesting note to make is that Nathan Hale's original run was most likely taped, but was postponed for one reason or another. In Butch Cassidy (the episode before it), Paula did not enter the King's Storeroom at all and she did not break any pots. In Golden Stallion (episode after Nathan Hale), there were a different set of pots in the King's Storeroom. That means the Nathan Hale kids most likely performed their original temple run, but something happened that caused them to re-tape it during S2L5.

Me and a few other L.o.t.H.T. fans know that the secret battle plan run was postponed because the production crew apparently screwed up and forgot to put a key in one of the three clay pots (there were two keys in the pot in the silver cannonball run).

One thing bugs me about that though, why would they postpone it so long for a small error like that?

The team goes into the temple, and just because of a small malfunction in the King’s Storeroom, they just abandon the run for weeks?

In Galileo’s Cannonball, the elevator wasn’t working, and some editing made the issue a non-problem. Why couldn’t they have pulled a Ron from Treasure Chest, where they pan to Kirk for a few extra seconds and manually open the door. I highly doubt that they had an issue in the King’s Storeroom, and said “oh well” see you guys in a few weeks, we will try again!

There must have been an even bigger issue with the Temple that rendered any future runs impossible, or an issue with one of the contestants. I guess it’ll be a mystery we will never figure out.
