I gave this run a 6. It was an exciting run, but it was very frustrating at the same time. This was one of those runs where BOTH players were equally responsible for this loss. Of course, Chris was to blame the most. For moving like a slow moving rock, and taking his sweet time exiting the temple. Although Kirk should NOT have told him to bust through the wall. Stupid Kirk, let the kids take their own way out of the temple. Sure, Colleen should've noticed the Observatory bar was raised, but man, was she fast. Probably the fastest Season 1 girl ever. But Chris was just pathetic. So Colleen, Chris, and Kirk were to blame in some way. Oh well, still a memorable temple run nonetheless. Better than Icarus.

And I know we also covered this in the Green Monkey thread not long ago. And I'm pretty sure I gave it a 6 there too. So I wanted to stay consistent. :afro:

I gave Lost Lariat a 6. I like this run much better than Icarus even though Chris was just as moronic as Jason was. At least this run doesn't get praised to high heaven like Icarus. As for the run itself, it should've been an easy win but it didn't happen because Chris was a moron. What makes this run interesting is that you can argue that Colleen, Chris, and even Kirk was responsible for this loss. Not many runs you can say that about. It was a frustrating loss, but it is a fun run to discuss due to the unique mistakes in it.  ;)

I think this may be the only temple run where both players AND Kirk were responsible for this loss. Of course, we all know Kirk had no idea what he was doing as a host for Season 1. But this temple run is very unique and interesting to talk about because of all of that. ;)

And with a 5.6 average, time to end the poll for "Pecos Bill's Lost Lariat."

Up next is "The Royal Torque of Queen Boadicea." :mrred:

I gave this run a 7. I'm not a huge fan of this run, and I find it a little overrated. But it was still a great run and featured a solid effort by Lissy and Nate. The clear star of the run to me was Nate. Look at the way he breezes through every room he enters. And his layout was pretty hard too! Nate manages to grab the torque with 15 seconds left on the clock, and then tries to exit the temple via the top floor. Which was a smart move, considering the Pit slows a lot of people down, see Tiffani from Sir Gawain. Unfortunately, he just couldn't get out in time. Mostly because of Lissy's hesitance at the beginning, and the long path to the artifact itself. The only reason I can't rate it higher is because it really lacks the excitement factor. Nothing really stands out about it compared to runs like Good Luck Watch and Priceless Portrait. So I really don't think as highly about it as most of the fandom does. Still a great run nonetheless, and MUCH better than most bottom central shaft runs.

I definitely expect this run to rate very high, and that's fine too. It's much better than Smashed Printing Plate, that's for sure. :afro:

I gave Queen Boadicea a 9!  :mrred: I love this run and the Red Jaguars were a very strong team. This is one of those temple runs where the team had to be on their "A" game to win. Unfortunately, Lissy moved a little too slow at the beginning of the run. Had she moved faster in rooms like the Crypt and Pit, Nate might've been able to escape. But Nate was a great player and he picked up the slack very well. Bottom of the central shaft runs were always hard, but this team tackled their layout just fine. If only Lissy moved a wee bit faster. Solid teamwork and a close ending makes this one of the most exciting losses on the show. The only run that I find a little more exciting is Polynesian Girl when it comes to bottom of the central shaft runs.  ;)  :mrred:

They definitely had to be on their "A" game to win. At least Nate picked up the slack though. So it was almost an "A" game for them. And like I said above, he had a great exit plan. It's actually easier to exit the temple via the top floor than it is the bottom. Though if he had stuck to the bottom floor, it would've been a very close finish. It probably would've been an Icarus or Applewood Amulet type finish! :o Still a solid run, much better than Smashed Printing Plate. I mean, THIS layout was harder, and Nate and Lissy still made better progress. Though I definitely prefer Polynesian Girl over this run. Since the latter run had a smidgen more excitement. ;)

I gave this run an 8. This was a solid Season 1 temple run. Both Chris and Tracy moved very swiftly through the temple, but unfortunately Chris' detour in the Heart Room cost them a chance at a solo victory. Tracy did a great job following up on Chris' path, and she grabbed the jaguar just before time ran out. Making this the only failed escape the Blue Barracudas ever had. Despite the one mistake entering the Heart Room, this temple run was very memorable and exciting. Especially at the beginning of the run where Chris tries to enter the temple from behind Olmec, instead of going directly into the Cave. And I just rewrote this episode in the episode review topic too, how fitting. :mrblue:

And this failed escape is much better than the one coming up tomorrow, Enormous Feather. :afro:

I gave Golden Jaguar an 8. This was a quirky and memorable temple run from literally the beginning to end. At the start, Chris running between Olmec and the Cave of Sighs was pure gold. It would've been funny if he actually ran behind Olmec! Luckily, he fixed himself right away and ran into the right direction. Unfortunately, he made the same mistake in the Heart Room where he entered that room for no reason. He was taken out one room away from the artifact. Tracy was actually a great second runner who doesn't get enough appreciation. She quickly retraced Chris' steps, assembled the Silver Monkey in good time, and grabbed the Golden Jaguar with two seconds to spare. You are telling me feel sorry for Jessica from Ponce de Leon and Rinette from Mata Hari? Overall, this was a fun run to watch that featured a decent team.  :mrblue:

And I just reviewed this episode too. Kind of like I had just reviewed Sir Edmund Hilary when I first started this topic. Good choices, huh? :mrblue: :mrsilver:

And you reviewed every episode we ranked so far too. Does that mean Enormous Feather is your next review? :afro:

And Golden Jaguar is a great episode. Imagine if it was a win? It might get into the 8 range like Sultan Saladin and Lawrence of Arabia. ;)

Me? Take on Enormous Feather? No way, though it would be interesting to see where that will score with me.

And yeah, both Sir Edmund Hilary and Atahualpa would rank REALLY high if they were wins instead. ;)

I like Sir Edmund Hillary a little more than Golden Jaguar. Tara and Danny really should've won, but their layout was tough and they pretty much dominated it. If it was any other team with an artifact from that room space (Snake Bracelet, Genghis Khan) then they probably wouldn't have reached the artifact. They were a fast and smart team in the temple that almost escaped with the artifact. And Tara's central shaft detour doesn't bother me as much as Ron's mistake. ;) But Golden Jaguar is exciting too and I think that people overlook this run because they assume it is another Electrified Key or Iron Mask where the players kill their chance at a solo win. But Chris and Tracy were still a smart and fast team.  :mrblue:
