I gave this layout a 5. Not a hard layout at all, Lisa was just too stupid to make any decent progress.

I gave the Golden Ship layout a 7. I always felt that the temple guard placement in this run was unfair. While Gabby and Joe should not have taken a direct path, they were from early Season 1 and didn't know better. Three temple guards in four rooms? That was pretty cheap. Not to mention, their half-pendant was no where in sight. Even though they were slow as a rock, this layout was unfair for the temple guard placement and the no where to be found half-pendant. They had to be really luck with their path to avoid one of the guards. I would probably give Gabby and Joe a second chance in the temple due to this layout.

Agreed. I also gave them a 5 for the same reasons, although the doors opening the way they did never should've happened and I can understand the confusion on Lisa's part. That's no excuse for what she did the rest of the run though.

As for Golden Ship, I gave this one a 6. Bottom of the column runs are almost never easy and this one is no exception. If Joe had started in the top starting room instead and that room gave instant access to the pit, then this could've been a winnable layout. However, where was the half pendant? That alone could easily up a score. I was tempted to give it a 7 on that alone, but I'll stick with 6. This team could've moved a lot faster.

Imagine if a team like Robbie and Tina had this layout and ended in triple capture? They would've finished with 2:30 left on the clock. But yeah, Joe really should've known that it would've been way too easy to reach the Throne Room from the Wall Climb. If he started in the Gargoyle Room, then at least this team would've had a chance to use all their time. They still would've lost though because neither was fast. To this day I still wonder where that half-pendant was...

I gave this layout a 6. Really not that hard of a layout at all, just bad luck with the temple guard placement.

Golden Ship finishes with a 6.33.

Next up is another pretty bad triple capture.

I gave Sultan Suleiman a 7. While the Purple Parrots were at fault for losing, the layout seemed very unusual. The King's Storeroom being a deadend was a bit unusual and was pretty time consuming. So even if Brian and Gracelyn did not waste time in certain rooms, their layout was a little crazy. Although the triple capture was totally their fault.

I also gave it a 7. For the same reasons as TRJ.

Sultan Suleiman finishes with a 7.

Now it is time for another triple capture, but with one pendant this time.  :P

Useless Map gets a 7 from me. I don't know, I always felt that this layout was kind of cheap. With one pendant, all that Hallie and Jared could've done was avoid a temple guard. It was unfortunate they met the one in the Crypt. It would've made more sense if he was in the Ledges since that would've been a direct path. Plus, most of the paths to a Dark Forest artifact were tough. I really don't hold the triple capture against these two.

I gave this layout an 8. I thought this layout was extremely difficult and cheap, temple guard placement wise. While it would've helped if Hallie had entered the King's Storeroom instead of the Tomb, the temple guard placement was just too much. Especially since Hallie and Jared only had one pendant. Just an unlucky layout all around.

The sucky part about one pendant teams was that they had to avoid at least one guard in the temple. At least with 1.5 pendant teams, they had a chance to redeem themselves and avoid triple capture by finding their other half. Not that it was an easier because they are either non-existent (like in Season 1) or had some real tricky hiding places (Missing Eye). But still, I am surprised we never had more triple captures from 1 Pendant teams except for Useless Map and Kamehameha. It was bad luck that Hallie and Jared encountered all three guards in 5 rooms. Unlike Robbie and Tina, this team didn't bring it onto themselves.

Unless you count them "taking a direct path." What a shame too, it could've been a solo victory (which I also highly doubt by the way), but Hallie decided to blow it by taking a direct path. [/n00b logic]

It could've been solo victory if the Ledges opened to the Pit of the Pendulum. I think it would've worked in the Useless Map run, but then again there is runs where the team was forced into the Crypt from the Ledges with a temple guard. Like Nathan Hale. But yeah, Hallie was a horrible player for taking a direct path. Even though she had no idea where the temple guards were at.
