Episode 121: The Hypnotic Flute of the Pied Piper
(Camera moves through a thick jungle with animals popping out from either side and finally reveals King Olmec)
Olmec: Legends of the Hidden Temple!
(Title card forms)
Olmec: With your guide (and my good son), Zuma!
(Title card glows gold and fades)
Olmec: And here he is now with our original guide, Kirk Fogg!
(Kirk and Zuma swing on ropes into the outdoor theater where this reboot is set)
Kirk: Alright! Thank you! Thank you very much! Thank you, Olmec!
Zuma: Thank you, father!
Kirk: Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple! I’m OG guide Kirk Fogg.
Zuma: And I am King Olmec’s good son, Zuma.
Kirk: The rooms in the temple are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan temple guards. Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple.
Zuma: Which one will we hear about today, father?
Olmec: The legend of the hypnotic flute of the Pied Piper.
Kirk: Oh, the legend of the hypnotic flute of the Pied Piper. Well the legend is set and one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the flute.
(CGI transitions of the team animals are shown when each team is called and each team name appears in front of the contestants when Kirk or Zuma do the roll call)
Kirk: Will it be the Red Jaguars?
Zuma: Do you think it will be the Blue Barracudas?
Kirk: Or how about the Green Monkeys?
Zuma: Could it be the Orange Iguanas?
Kirk: Maybe the Purple Parrots?
Zuma: Or will it be the Silver Snakes?
Zuma: They will have to pass some very tough physical and mental tests, and in the end, only one team will earn the right to run through my father’s temple.
Kirk: But first, they must cross the moat, and Olmec will tell them how they’ll do it today.
Olmec: Before each of you is a log raft with an ancient rope above it. When Kirk gives the signal, stand on the raft while pulling yourself to the other side. Once you are across, your partner will pull back the raft and do the same. When the second player is safely across, run over and hit the gong.
(Kirk and Zuma hit the Red Jaguars’ and Silver Snakes’ gongs)
Olmec: The first four teams to hit their gongs will go on to the next round!
Zuma: Are you ready, teams?
(Teams shout “Yesss!”)
Zuma: You can say it better. Are you ready, teams?
(Teams shout “YESSS!”)
Kirk: And are you ready, Olmec?
Olmec: Let’s rock!
Kirk: On your marks, get set, go!
1. Silver Snakes
2. Orange Iguanas
3. Blue Barracudas
4. Red Jaguars
Kirk: We got our four teams right here! They are…
Kirk: …the Red Jaguars,
Zuma: …the Blue Barracudas,
Kirk: …the Orange Iguanas,
Zuma: …and the Silver Snakes!
Kirk: Green Monkeys and Purple Parrots, no one on Legends leaves empty-handed. We have a great consolation prize for both of you and here’s what it is.
(Zuma opens a chest with the first consolation prize plus $1,000 USD)
Kirk: As the quest continues, it’s now time for Olmec to tell us about the hypnotic flute of the Pied Piper. Pay attention teams, because your knowledge of the legend will bring you one step closer to Olmec's temple.
Olmec: In 1284, the town of Hamelin was suffering a terrible rat infestation. Nearly everyone was overrun with the vermin. Legend has it that one day, a man wearing pied clothing and a flute came along with a solution.
Piper: Listen Mayor, just leave it to me! I can use my special flute to get rid of every rat in this town!
Mayor: Ha! I'll believe it when I see it, but if you're not pulling my leg, I'll make sure you get paid in full.
Olmec: Outside, the piper went straight to work, blaring a haunting melody on his flute. All the rats were immediately entranced and fled straight to him. He then led the rats into the Weser River, where they drowned. But after this, the Mayor withdrew his promise and the piper left with nothing. The next day, he played his flute again, this time luring away all the children. This caused the citizens to pay him several times the original price. His flute years later was discarded after his retirement, and made its way to the temple. Your quest is to find the flute, and bring it back here.
Zuma: Thank you, father. So please tell us, where is the flute?
Olmec: The hypnotic flute of the Pied Piper can be found in the Throne Room.
Kirk: Teams, you're now standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, Olmec will ask you a question. If you think you know the answer, stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. If you're right, you'll move down to the next level. But if you're wrong or run out of time, I'll give the other teams a chance to answer. The first two teams to make it to the bottom level will be one step closer to Olmec's temple. Olmec, we're now ready for your first question.

Kirk: These two teams will play for the right to enter Olmec’s Temple!
Zuma: And they will do it right after this!
(Pendant forms and “Legends of the Hidden Temple” comes out from behind it to conclude Part A)
