And here are all the temple game match ups that happened when this combination occurred:
Red/Blue: Genghis Khan, Buddha, Scheherazade
Red/Green: Apanuugpak
Red/Silver: Sultan Saladin, Sir Edmund Hilary, Davy Crockett, War Fan (all had Silver Snakes going to the temple)
Blue/Green: Pecos Bill, Electrified Key, Cosa Rara, Sforza
Blue/Silver: Great Seal, Stone Head, Mysterious Manuscript (2/3 being Blue Barracuda runs, and had an epic fail in the temple run)
Green/Silver: Enormous Iron Nose Ring

So every combination between those four teams happened. Same can be said for Red-Blue-Green-Purple. Come to think of it, not many pairs had all four possible color combinations happen.

For sure. But of course first you have to collect data from every single episode and then tabulate everything. It's incredible how many just raw numbers there are when you look at this show.

And with a non solid 6 average, time to end the poll for Red-Blue-Green-Silver. :mrred: :mrblue:  :mrsilver:

Up next is Red-Blue-Orange-Purple. :mrred: :mrblue: :mrorange: :mrpurple:

 :jaguars2: :barracudas2: :iguanas2: :parrots2:

Episodes it was featured in: (Used in 5 episodes)
The Golden Cup of Belshazzar
The Jewel-Encrusted Egg of Catherine the Great

The Golden Jaguar of Atahualpa
The Lucky Pillow of Annie Taylor

The Lucky Medallion of Atocha

My vote and reasoning will come in the next post. ;)

I gave this match up an 8. Some of the very best episodes on the show came from this matchup, (Catherine the Great, Atocha, and Lucky Pillow), and two of those aforementioned episodes were on the same day. Even the non winning episodes like Belshazzar and Atahualpa, weren't so bad either. For some reason, I always think of pixie sticks whenever I think of this layout. Probably because they come with the exact same set of colors as this combination does. The colors looked.... alright together. It wasn't as pretty as Red-Blue-Green-Purple, but it was still a neat looking pair. Too bad this combination was pretty rare, only used in a mere 5 episodes. And too bad we never got a Purple Parrot episode out of this match up either. But the episodes on the above list were simply amazing, and that and how nice these colors looked solidifies my vote. ;)

10.

Rareness isn't inherently a negative thing. It makes something special and unique.

I personally love these four colors together in any setting. I enjoy the even mix of primary and secondary colors.

And is it even possible to overstate the significance of my favorite episode, team, and individual player coming from this combination?!

This is the group I was waiting for. I know some will think my ranking is a little high, but I'm sticking to my guns on this one for sure.

I. LOVE. THIS. COMBINATION.

It's interesting how each vote so far has all different ratings. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Maybe TRJ will help fill in the "9" gap. Since I know he was looking forward to this match up as well. :mrred: :mrblue: :mrorange: :mrpurple:

I gave this combo a 10. I love this pairing both aesthetically and selection wise. The Purple Parrots had some really bad luck with this combo, but I love the episode selection. Annie Taylor, Catherine the Great, and Lucky Medallion are some of my top 10 favorite episodes! Atahualpa is an underrated failed escape and Belshazzar was the first episode ever, so you can't really say anything bad about it. I like how the first and last episode recorded were from the same combo. I love this combo and it gave us some of the best episodes ever.  ;)

So much for the "9 gap."

But yeah, these colors looked nice together, and they had some amazing episodes from this pair. Even Belshazzar wasn't bad. And like you said, it was the first ever episode recorded. So I'll definitely cut that episode some slack. While the Purple Parrots didn't have great luck with this pair, they did advance 3/5 times from this pair, if that helps. ;)

And coincidentally, the two times they did not advance (Catherine the Great and Lucky Medallion), the Red Jaguars and Orange Iguanas faced off.  :mrred:  :mrorange:

And look at how much all five of these episodes have in common in general. :o I know this was brought up in the "Interesting Coincidences" thread. Let me see if I can pull up the post.

EDIT: Here's the post:

Here's some interesting tidbits regarding the SOK pair Red-Blue-Orange-Purple:
- Two golden artifact were from Season 1 (Golden Cup, Golden Jaguar)
- Two lucky artifacts were from Season 2 (Lucky Medallion, Lucky Pillow, filmed the same day to boot)
- The Purple Parrots advanced 3/5 times from this pair. :mrpurple:
- There were 4/5 artifact grabs from this pair too. (credit goes to TRJ for this tibdit)
- Two were Red Jaguar runs, and two were Blue Barracuda runs. (credit goes to TRJ for this tibdit)
- Both the first AND last episode filmed had both this pair, and were Red Jaguar runs.
- Not only that, but both Belshazzar and Catherine the Great were the only runs where the team won more than one pendant.
- Furthermore, both Belshazzar and Catherine the Great were the only runs out of that pair to not come down to a tiebreaker.

Most of these facts brought to you by the trivia thread.
So many coincidences for such a rare match up.

I gave this match up a 2. This is my absolute least favorite combination on the show. To me, these colors looked extremely ugly together, no matter what season it was used in. And besides Blue Pearl and Bandit Queen, the episodes to feature this pair were average to just plain terrible. I'm glad this was one of the more rare match ups, these colors were a complete eyesore.
