I gave Mata Hari a 4. It was your typical boring and average Season 1 loss where one player makes it one room away from the artifact, but the second runner has little time to reach the artifact. The temple guard layout was unfair, but the team had no chance at winning because they were slow and Rinette was a piss poor second runner. Gareth actually did a decent job as a frontrunner, so I don't really give him a hard time. Rinette on the other hand was a sad excuse for a second runner. While she had very little time, she still didn't use it well at all. She moves so slow and was just entering the Holes of Python before time expired. So in 44 seconds, she barely covered 4 rooms. I can't believe people defend her. Overall, boring run with a pathetic second player.

I gave it a 3. Boring temple run, and Rinette was waaaaay too slow as a second runner.

Seriously, Rinette was an awful second runner. She had a clear path all the way to the Treasure Room, but doesn't even make it past her fourth room. It's not like runs like Stone Marker or Belshazzar where the front runners made little progress and the second runners had little time to make more. Rinette has no excuse for moving that slow. She was older than Gareth too.

And Gareth was fatter than Rinette, and even HE moved faster than her. Anyone who defends Rinette obviously didn't watch this run carefully. Imagine if she had gone first? Gareth wouldn't even have a chance to enter.

Yeah, it would've been like Lucky Pig's run where Rinette would've used all 3 minutes and Gareth would've been lucky to even reach the first step of the temple. I am definitely glad that didn't happen. Also, I never understood the hate Gareth got either. I know he moved a little slow in some rooms like the Cave of Sighs and Holes of Python, but every other room he moved fine. He didn't have trouble with any objectives and tried to use all of his shortcuts. Much better than Rinette and I am so glad she didn't go in first.

Well, Gareth only got tripped up in the Cave and Holes of Python because he had a hard time maneuvering through the rooms due to his chubbiness. Other than that, he actually moved pretty quickly. And he knew what he was doing for the most part. He only lost because the temple guard placement (the same tired "one room away" trick in Season 1), made it impossible for this team to win. Heh I remember when Renegade called Gareth a "fatass" while Rinette was the "slowpoke." Both were pretty accurate descriptions too. I wonder if there were any other chubby contestants on the show? There might have been, but I don't quite remember.

Actually, I would say that there were fatter ones than Gareth even. Here are the chunky contestants from the top of my head:

- Jeremy
- Terry Kay from Jean Lafitte
- Ron from Anne Bonny
- Kristen from Lucky Pig
- Damien from Pytheas
- Chrystine from Lost Taj Mahal Turban
- CJ from Golden Stallion

Kristen had to be the fattest one also. I mean you can actually see it in her face. :afro:

Kristen was definitely fat. I mean, just look at her face. I can't believe I forgot about her too. Same with Jeremy. I remember TPP called Jeremy "fatty" in one of his descriptions of him. I think it was his YouTube video on the Silk Ladder temple run. Either way, Gareth did MUCH better than most of those above contestants. Even if he was chubby. :afro:
