Episode 89px]

The camera swerves through a thick rainforest, and after multiple turns, it eventually stops in front of an ancient temple.  The eyes of giant stone head next to the temple gate light up red as he begins to speak:
The show's logo forms as two halves of a Pendant of Life come in from the sides of the screen and merge; the show's name appears above the logo as the camera pans across the entire temple.
"With your guide, Kirk Fogg! And here he is NOW!"

On this final word, Kirk emerges from a thick patch of jungle plants and shrubs, then runs into the foreground and up a wide set of steps to greet the crowd. "Thank you! Thank you very much! Nice to see you! Thank you, Olmec! Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple.  The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards.  Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures of his temple.  Which one are we gonna hear about today?"

Faint orange lights underneath Olmec turn on, and the camera cuts to a close-up of him as he replies:
"The Wolf-Skin Cloak of Victor of Aveyron."

"Ooh, the Wolf-Skin Cloak of Victor of Aveyron!" Kirk says in response as the camera cuts back to him. "Well, one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the Cloak.  Will it be:
"Taylor and Lisette of the Red Jaguars?" the camera pans to each team in order, their first names briefly appearing at the bottom of the screen?
"Chris and Katie of the Blue Barracudas,
"Daron and Amber of the Green Monkeys,
"Walter and Brittany of the Orange Iguanas,
"Zak and Annelise of the Purple Parrots,
"Or Jared and Stacy of the Silver Snakes?"

"They'll have to pass some tough physical and mental tests," Kirk says, "and in the end, only one team will earn the right to enter Olmec's Temple.  But first, they?ll have to cross the Moat, and here's how they'll have to do it today?
"When I say 'Go,' one player from each team will grab onto the rod above them and climb hand-over-hand across the Moat.  Then, when he gets across and lands on the other side, it's his partner's turn to grab onto the rod and do the same thing."
"As soon as the second player jumps down onto the deck, it's his job to run over here and hit the gong." He hits the top button on the Red Jaguars' gong? which lights up red? to demonstrate. "The first four teams to hit their gongs will be going into the next round.  Are you ready, teams?"
The players all cheer and shout in response.
"Olmec, are you ready?" asks Kirk.
"It's time to rock and roll!" Olmec replies.
"All right!" Kirk says in response. "On your mark, teams? get set? GOOO!!!"

?There they go, over the water and out to the gongs!? remarks Kirk as the first players from each team reach up for the rods and start making their way hand-over-hand over the waters of the Moat.  The teams remain fairly even throughout, and the first players on each team land on the other side of the Moat beginning with the female Purple Parrot and female Silver Snake after roughly 23 seconds. ?This is hard to call? Green Monkeys? Orange Iguanas got their first players across, now it?s turn for their partners!? The boy on the Blue Barracudas makes it across after thirty seconds; the girl on the Red Jaguars is the last frontrunner to make it to the other end, doing so 33 seconds into the challenge.
?This is tough, but we got some good teams? Silver Snakes gotta go back!? Kirk points out as the boy on the Silver Snakes slips from the rod and falls into the Moat about halfway across, forcing him to restart at the :40 mark. ?That could cost them!? The male Red Jaguar similarly has to restart 45 seconds into the round, but since he falls closer to the start, he manages to pull himself up onto the dock only a second after the male Silver Snake.  After 48 seconds of Moat crossing, the female Green Monkey jumps down off the rod and runs over to her team?s gong. ?We got our first team, it?s? Orange Iguanas number two!? The Orange Iguanas lock in after 51 seconds, and at the :57 mark, the female Blue Barracuda loses her grip on the rod and is sent back.
?Looks like we got a third team: Purple Parrots!? comments Kirk as the male Purple Parrot runs over and hits his team?s gong exactly a minute after the round began. ?We need one more team, who?s it gonna be?? The male Red Jaguar once again loses his grip, but at the same time, the male Silver Snake jumps down onto the deck and runs over to hit his team?s gong, ending the Moat 1:13 after it began.
?We got our four teams right here!? Kirk announces, and the camera switches to the celebrating Green Monkeys and their lit-up gong.  Kirk runs onscreen about a second later. ?Green Monkeys blazed across! They?re fired up, and they?re going on to the Steps of Knowledge, along with the Orange Iguanas?? the camera goes down the line to show each qualifying team? ?and the Purple Parrots? and the Silver Snakes! The Red Jaguars and Blue Barracudas gave it a great effort too.  We got a nice gift for ?em and here?s what it is.?
Dee reads the consolation prize:
?Look at the entertaining fun you?ll have when you strap on Moon Shoes! Super excitement is yours when you bounce higher than ever! Don?t leave earth without Moon Shoes, from Big Time Toys!?
Title: Rediscovery EP: The Wolf-Skin Cloak of Victor of Aveyron
Post by: The Ancient Warrior on June 28, 2010, 05:05:07 PM
When the camera cuts away from the consolation prize, the four remaining teams are now at the top of the Steps of Knowledge, along with Kirk. "As the quest continues, it's now time for Olmec to tell us about the legend of the Wolf-Skin Cloak of Victor of Avalon.  But pay attention, because your knowledge of the legend can bring you a step closer to Olmec's Temple."
Olmec begins to tell the legend:

"In the south of France, a boy was spotted wandering through the woods, and was captured.  He escaped, but a couple years later, in 1800, he came out of the forests on his own to see the world.  This boy became known as Victor of Aveyron.  When he was found, Victor couldn't speak, and acted more like an animal than a human being.  He spent the first twelve years of his life in the wild, and legend has it that when he appeared, all he was wearing was a wolf-skin cloak, his prized possession.  Victor was shown to many people who tried to help change him from a wild child to a civilized human being.  Finally, he ended up in the care of a medical student named Jean Itard.
" 'If I can help zees child to feet into society,' he thought, 'zen anyzing ees possible ! Zees would be a revolution for science !'
"Itard believed there were two traits that separated man and beast: Human emotion and the ability to talk.  He tried to teach Victor to read and speak French, but it looked like he wasn't making much progress.
" 'I know zat Victor can learn ze language,' Itard wrote in his journal one day. 'He wants to, so who am I to geeve up on heem ?'
"One day, Victor noticed the housekeeper, Madame Gu?rin, was setting the table for dinner and crying over the loss of her husband.  He went over to her and patted her on the shoulder, and soon enough, Madame Gu?rin let Victor give her a hug to try comforting her.  Itard took notes from the doorway before going to console her as well.
" 'He knows human emotion, and zat's a great sign.  He might've grown up in ze wild, but turning him into a human being seems much more possible now.'
"But Victor died before he became fluent in French; the only word he learned how to spell was 'lait,' meaning 'milk.' Itard was devastated, but the case of Victor proved that there's an age after which people can't learn a first language.  Eventually, the wolf-skin cloak that Victor treasured made its way to the Temple.  Your quest is to retrieve the Wolf-Skin Cloak of Victor of Aveyron and bring it back here."

"Thank you Olmec," Kirk says after Olmec finishes telling the legend. "Olmec, where is the Wolf-Skin Cloak?"
Olmec replies:
"The Wolf-Skin Cloak of Victor of Aveyron can be found in the Viper's Nest." The camera zooms in on a wolf pelt draped over the snake jars in the front of the Viper's Nest, then fades back to Kirk.

"All right.  Teams," Kirk begins to explain, "you're standing on the Steps of Knowledge.  In a minute, Olmec will ask you a question.  If you think you know the answer, I want you to stomp down on that ancient marking in front of you.  If you're right, you're gonna move down to the next level, but if you're wrong or run out of time, I'm gonna give the other teams a chance to answer." He walks down the steps as he continues explaining the rules. "The first two teams to make it to the bottom step?" Kirk pauses when he realizes he is about to say "step" twice? "will be one step closer to Olmec's Temple.  Olmec, we?re now ready for your first question."

Olmec begins:
?Did Victor grow up in: A basement, A palace or The wild??
Daron hits the marking first: ?The wild???
?Correct,? says Olmec in response.
?Nice job, Green Monkeys, step down!? says Kirk, and the Green Monkeys move down the second step. ?Next question!?

Olmec asks:
?Which of these couldn?t Victor do when he was found: Eat, Speak or Walk??
Annelise stomps down and confidently answers: ?He couldn?t talk.?
?Purple Parrots, step down!? Kirk encourages, and the Purple Parrots also move down to the second level. ?This match is heating up! Olmec, next question!?

Olmec now asks:
?Victor eventually ended up in the care of Jean Itard.  Was Itard a: Doctor, Medical student or Linguist??
While Olmec is providing the third choice, Stacy rings in: ?Student?? ?Medical student.?
?Orange Iguanas still lookin? to score, but it?s anybody?s game!? narrates Kirk, encouraging the Silver Snakes to move down to the second step alongside the Green Monkeys and Purple Parrots. ?Olmec, next question!?

Olmec asks:
?According to Itard, are the two things that separate humans from animals the ability to talk and: The ability to walk on two legs, An understanding of math or Human emotion??
After a moment, Walter buzzes in: ?The ability to talk and? human feelings.?
There is a pause.
?Correct,? Olmec finally says in response.
?Everybody?s on the board, this is a tough match!? Kirk replies. ?But we?re only looking for two teams.  Next question!?

Olmec then asks:
?Did Itard live in: France, England or Austria??
Walter gongs in again: ?France???
?That is correct.?
?Just like that,? Kirk says as the Orange Iguanas progress to the third step, ?the Orange Iguanas came from behind and now they?re just one step away from the Temple Games! Next question, Olmec!?

Olmec?s next question is:
?According to our legend, did Victor first emerge from the wild: When he was captured, On his own or When Itard found him there??
Walter steps in first once again: ?He? was captured and put on display like an animal.?
?That is absolutely correct!? shouts Olmec, and the Orange Iguanas jump down onto the bottom step.
?We got our first team going on to the Temple Games, and it?s the Orange Iguanas!? Kirk declares. ?That was fast! We?re looking for one more team, who?s it gonna be? Let?s keep going! Olmec, next question!?

Olmec asks:
?In our legend, when Victor came into society again on his own, what year was it: 1700, 1800 or 19???
A stomp from Daron interrupts Olmec: ?1800???
?That is correct,? says Olmec in response.
?Next correct response and the Green Jaguars are goin? to the Temple Games!? Kirk remarks as the Green Monkeys move onto the second-to-last step. ?Next question!?

Olmec continues:
?When Itard concluded that Victor did understand human emotion, was Victor trying to console: Itard?s wife, His housekeeper or His sist???
Annelise cuts Olmec off this time: ?His? housekeeper.?
?That is correct.?
?Purple Parrots, step down! You?re now one step away from the Temple Games!? says Kirk as the Purple Parrots move down to the penultimate level of the steps. ?Olmec, continue!?

Olmec does so by asking:
?Was the housekeeper upset over the loss of: Her father, Her son???
Annelise just barely beats Daron to the buzzer: ?Her husband???
?That is correct!? Olmec bellows, and the Purple Parrots jump down beside the Orange Iguanas on the bottom step.  Kirk reappears onscreen and runs up onto the bottom step between the two teams before the four qualifying players start celebrating with each other.
?We got our two teams for the Temple Games!? Kirk declares while running up the step and turning to face the camera. ?The Orange Iguanas and the Purple Parrots! Green Snakes, Silver Monkeys gave it a great effort too.  You?re not going away empty-handed, we got a great gift for playing and here?s what it is.? Daron, Amber, Jared and Stacy will each be receiving a copy of Planet 51 on DVD.
The camera then cuts away from the consolation prize, and only Kirk, the Orange Iguanas and Purple Parrots are still present on the Steps of Knowledge. ?These two teams will be playing for the right to enter Olmec?s Temple,? he says, ?and they?re gonna do it right after this!? The camera zooms out, then pans and zooms in on Olmec, who lights up before the show?s logo reappears and the camera fades to commercial.

Post by: The Ancient Warrior on June 28, 2010, 05:09:35 PM
When the camera fades in from commercial, the show?s title card is placed over a shot of the stage-left grave in the Graveyard of Ships.  The pendant logo splits, the title fades into the distance and the camera segues to Kirk standing in front of the Pit of Despair with the two remaining teams.
?Welcome back to Legends!? he says. ?Now is the time where the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest, so let?s talk to our team players.? He turns to the left side of the screen to talk to the blue-eyed girl on the Orange Iguanas, whose dirty blond hair falls just past her shoulders. ?On the Orange Iguanas, we have Brittany.  How old are you??
?Eleven,? she answers.
?And I understand you like to dance but you wanna be a nurse,? Kirk reads off the index card in his hand. ?Tell me about that.?
?Well,? explains Brittany, ?I have two younger sisters that they get sick a lot, and I?ve been helping my mom take care of them? she says I?m good at that, and I looked after a friend that she broke her leg before.?
?That?s pretty nice of you,? Kirk comments before moving on to Brittany?s partner, an average-sized boy with short dark hair and brown eyes. ?And your partner here is Walter.  How old are you??
?Thirteen,? replies Walter.
?And it says here you wanna make a cartoon about a rock band,? Kirk reads. ?How come??
?Well, because?? Walter begins, ?I?ve been drawing a while now, I have a lot of friends who play music, so I wanna do something I like that can involve them too.?
?Sounds cool,? Kirk replies. ?Let?s hear it for the Orange Iguanas!? The audience applauds for a few seconds, and Kirk turns around to talk with the girl on the Purple Parrots, who has hazel eyes and straight, strawberry blond hair reaching just past her shoulders. ?And on the Purple Parrots, we have Annelise.  How old are you??
?Twelve,? she replies.
?And it says here you like to play soccer and read mystery novels,? Kirk says. ?What?s your favorite??
?Um?? Annelise answers, ?I don?t have a favorite book, but if it did, it?s something with Sherlock Holmes in it.?
?Ah, sounds nice,? replies Kirk, moving to the right edge of the screen to talk to Annelise?s slightly taller partner, who has blond hair and brown eyes. ?And your partner here is? Zak, how old are you??
?Twelve,? he answers.
?And I heard you like anything doing with the water,? read Kirk. ?Swimming? Fishing???
?Yeah? uh, I live by a lake and I like to fish and swim in it? I?m on my school?s swimming team and I have a pet turtle,? Zak tries to explain.
?Sounds cool,? Kirk says, moving back toward the center of the screen. ?All right, let?s hear it for the Purple Parrots!? The audience briefly applauds for the Purple Parrots.

?You guys ready to play?? asks Kirk.
The players all shout in unison as a response.
?Okay, why don?t you girls go get ready for the first Temple Game, guys go get ready for the second Temple Game,? Kirk says, pointing in different directions, and as Kirk faces the camera again, Zak and Walter walk offscreen in one direction and Brittany and Annelise in another. ?Now, in the Temple Games, each team is competing to win?" he opens a pouch and pulls out a small gold medallion to show to the camera? "these Pendants of Life.  They?re gonna need those Pendants to protect themselves from the dreaded Temple Guards as they make their way through the Temple.  There are three Temple Games.  Olmec, will you tell us about Temple Game #1??

Olmec begins:
"When Victor of Aveyron was a child, he grew up in the wild surrounded by animals, and he often had to gather his own food.  In this game, you'll get to see what that's like.  When Kirk gives the signal, climb the mountain using the rope in your hands.  When you reach a bunch of berries, grab it and place it in your pack, then keep climbing.  When you reach the top, turn around and climb down the other side."
"The first player to reach the ground on the other side of the mountain with all four bunches of berries? or the player that's further along after 60 seconds? wins."
"I've never seen a mountain like this," Kirk comments as the camera fades to him. "Let's set the clock for 60 seconds." A countdown clock appears in the bottom-right corner of the screen, and Kirk runs around to the side of the mountain to do the commentary from there. "On your mark, get set, GO!"
Brittany and Annelise start climbing the mountain when Kirk says ?Go?; Annelise reaches her first bunch of berries a bit sooner because hers are placed lower on the mountain than are Brittany?s, but otherwise the girls move at about the same pace early in the game.  After a little more than ten seconds, Brittany has only her first bunch of berries while Annelise is just pocketing her second, but they are at about the same spot on the mountain.  By the time only forty seconds are left, both players have grabbed all but the last bunch of berries at the top.
?Just gotta get that last one and then they can come back down,? Kirk comments, ?but it?s tough when you gotta turn around!? By the :32 mark, both players have retrieved all the berries and are starting to come back down.  Brittany starts speeding up a little, and climbing back down the mountain proves easier for both girls than climbing up was in the beginning? as a result, Brittany reaches the bottom with 23 seconds to go.  Kirk runs over as the countdown clock stops and disappears.
?That?s it! C?mon over!? Kirk announces, calling the girls over as he gets ready to declare the winner.  Annelise takes a little longer, but she eventually joins Kirk and Brittany. ?Orange Iguanas made it all the way first, so they win a half a Pendant of Life!? The audience briefly cheers for Brittany. ?The next game is worth a half Pendant.  Olmec, tell us about it.?

Olmec continues:
"Legend has it that the only word Victor learned to spell was 'lait,' the French word for 'milk.' In this game you will have to do the same.  On the pole above you are tiles with the four letters that spell the word: L, A, I and T.  When Kirk gives the signal, climb the pole, grab a tile from the top, stick it to your helmet, and climb back down and place it on your board in the proper position.  Then, climb back up and do it again.
"The first player to remove all four tiles from the top and spell out the word? or the player that's further along in 60 seconds? wins."
"Oh, I hope our players can spell," Kirk says. "Remember they gotta get them in the right spot or it doesn't count.  Let's put 60 seconds on the clock." The countdown clock appears in the bottom-right corner; an orange half-Pendant in the upper left.  Kirk then dashes off to the side to do the play-by-play without being in the way of the camera. "On your mark, get set, GO!"
?There they go!? Kirk remarks as Walter and Zak start climbing. ?They gotta? edge their way up the pole to get to the letters that spell out L-A-I-T and bring them back down and put them in the right place, and it?s tough to do!? Neither player is particularly fast; Walter manages to bring down the L with 44 seconds to spare, at which point Zak is still climbing his pole for the first time.  Zak finally places the L with 32 seconds to go, but by then, Walter is heading back down with the A.  He places it in the second-from-left spot on the board with 29 seconds on the clock, prompting Zak to move faster.  Zak manages to place the A in slightly less time, leaving eighteen seconds with which to try scoring again. ?It?s looking pretty even now! They just need two more!? Walter returns with the I at the :13 mark; Zak brings his back with five seconds to go.  When time runs out, a pattern of ceiling spotlights flashes to indicate that the game is over, and Kirk runs back onscreen to count the scores.
?All right, time?s up, let?s check it out!? declares Kirk, reappearing onscreen and summoning Zak and Walter. ?Let?s look at the Orange Iguanas first.? He grabs the Orange Iguanas? board. ?Orange got L, A, I? they didn?t get the T at the end, so that?s three.? He goes over to the Purple Parrots? board. ?Purple Parrots also got L, A, I, so it?s a tie! They each get the half Pendant of Life!? The audience cheers momentarily for both players. ?So Purple has a half Pendant, Orange Parrots have a full Pendant, we go to the third and final game, it?s worth a full Pendant.  Olmec, tell us.?

Olmec narrates:
"Itard tried to teach Victor a language, which involved a number of steps? not unlike the steps in front of you.  When Kirk gives the signal, choose a step and? move out onto it.  If the step sinks, run back and tag your partner.  Then it's their turn to try to cross.
"The first team to get a player to the other side? or the player that's further along at the end of 60 seconds? wins."
The camera transitions to Kirk. "This is for the Temple!" he says. "Let's put 60 seconds on the clock." The countdown clock appears onscreen in the bottom-right corner, an orange full Pendant in the upper-left and a purple half Pendant in the upper right. "On your marks, get set, GO!"
?There they go through the forest!? remarks Kirk as the girls on each team step out onto the first platform.  However, Annelise and Brittany each fall on their second choice after deciding to go forward again; the two both have to go back and start over.  Zak chooses the middle platform in the second row and puts the Purple Parrots in the lead, but when he chooses to go directly forward from there and falls, Walter is at least able to make it past him and make it to the third step.  He finally sinks on his fifth choice with 48 seconds to go, just as Annelise is starting to move out.
?How did Victor make it across? You gotta remember where you were going; you gotta know not to go there again!? Annelise makes an incorrect move for her third choice, so the score remains 4-2 as the Purple Parrots have to start over.  Brittany manages to make it through five correct steps before falling again with 38 seconds remaining, while is Zak cautiously starting to follow her from a few steps behind.  Zak eventually makes it through four correct choices before falling on the fifth? not enough to tie or take the lead, but still a good job at closing the gap.  At the :33 mark? a little early? Annelise takes off, following Walter at first, but when he falls, she slows down.
?Purple Parrots taking the lead!? Kirk remarks when Annelise hesitantly makes it onto a sixth-row platform but doesn?t sink (:27).  She falls not too long after, after having made seven correct choices.  Brittany mistakenly chooses the same platform a little later and falls, but still managed to even the score again. ?This is a tough match! Who?s gonna make it across first?? Kirk asks as the players start to return to the beginning; only about fifteen seconds are left when the boys start again.  This time, Zak falls in the sixth row with six seconds remaining, while Walter (who was right behind Zak) makes it further along afterwards? when time runs out and the ceiling spotlights flash, Walter has just sunken only two steps away from the end.
?That?s it! Time?s up! Great job by both teams, let?s check it out!? announces Kirk, running back onscreen and checking with the spotters? flags. ?All right, it looks like the Orange Iguanas made it furthest along when time ended, so they get the half? I mean, the full Pendant, giving them two? they?re going to the Temple!? Brittany squeals in excitement, then she and Walter hug and jump in a circle while Kirk goes to talk with the Purple Parrots. ?The Purple Parrots gave it a great effort too, I wish we could send both teams to the Temple? but we got a great gift for them both and here?s what it is.? Zak and Annelise will each be receiving a backpack provided by Eastpak.
When the camera fades back from the consolation prize, only the Orange Iguanas are still with Kirk in front of the equipment for the third Temple Game. ?We?ll see if the Orange Iguanas can make it through Olmec?s Temple and retrieve that Wolf-Skin Cloak of Victor of Avalon,? he says, ?right after this!? The camera zooms in on the Wolf-Skin Cloak in the Viper?s Nest; after the show?s logo appears, the camera fades to commercial.

The camera fades in with the show's logo placed over a shot of the Pit of Despair with the fog machine running, taken from the stairwell leading down from the Room of the Ancient Masks.  The pendant splits, the title disappears into the distance, the fog machine stops and the camera segues to Kirk, Walter and Brittany standing in front of Olmec. "Welcome back to Legends!" says Kirk to the camera. "The Orange Iguanas have proven themselves worthy and now have earned the right to enter the Temple!  But first, Olmec's gonna give them some information to help them retrieve that Wolf-Skin of Victor of A?veyron."
Olmec begins to give the rundown:
?You could start by running up to the Room  of the Ancient Masks.  Push in the correct mask, and pass into the Pit of Despair.  There you must choose your next path.  You could race up into the Observatory, read the instructions on the far wall through the telescope and follow the instructions to open the door to the Central Dock.  Assemble the ship, and pass into the Den of Totem Poles.  Turn all the faces forward; that may take you below or lead you into the SHRINE of the Silver Monkey! Assemble the statue, and you may be headed toward the Pirate?s Cove! Place the torch in the correct holder to go back, or spin the ship?s wheel and enter the Graveyard of Ships.
?Stand on the correct grave to go upstairs? but beware the Temple Guards that may be haunting the graves!  Or, you might plow through the wall and into the Viper?s Nest, where you can grab the Wolf-Skin Cloak.  Next, you could try to enter the Bamboo Forest! If you escape, you might have a chance to enter the Lost Treasury.  Place the correct artifact on the altar, and if the correct door is unlocked, you can crawl back into the Pit and finally climb through the Cave, race down the stairs and back through the Temple Gate.  The choices are yours and yours alone!? Olmec pauses for a second. "You won 2 Pendants in the Temple Games.  Who's going first??
"I am," says Walter.
"Very well, Walter!" replies Olmec as Kirk hands out the Pendants of Life. "When Kirk gives the signal, you'll race through the gates into the Temple and make your way towards the Wolf-Skin Cloak.  Hidden inside the Temple are three secret passages that may lead you into the Bamboo Forest, as well as Temple Guards assigned to protect three specific rooms.  You can trade your Pendant for an extra life and go on, but if you're caught without a Pendant, you'll be taken out of the Temple? and then it'll be Brittany's turn to enter and try her luck.  If you can reach the Cloak, all the doors of the Temple will instantly unlock, and the Temple Guards will vanish.  Return through the gates with the Wolf-Skin Cloak of Victor of Aveyron in three minutes, and you will both be handsomely rewarded? and here's how!"
?   For just getting into the Temple, they're both going to get a skateboard provided by Vans.
?   If they can grab the Cloak in three minutes, they're also going to get Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia on CD-ROM, provided by Compton's New Media.
?   And if they can get the Cloak out of the Temple before three minutes are up, they're both going to the Bahamas! The Bahamas Princess Resort, on exciting Grand Bahama Island, offering tennis, swimming and international entertainment.  Fun for the whole family, from the Bahamas Princess Resort!

"Let's see if we can get these Orange Iguanas to the Bahamas!" Kirk declares before turning to Walter. "Okay, Walter, let's get you out in front.  Put your mouthpieces in? both of you, you never know when you're gonna run in.  Lower your gate, Olmec!"
Olmec groans gutturally as he lowers the gate; the faint orange lights under him are turned off.
"And let's set the clock for three minutes." The clock appears onscreen. "On your mark, get set, GO!"

?There goes Walter, up into the Temple!? Kirk declares as Walter disappears behind the Temple Gate and races up the stairs; he decides to slide down into the Cave. ?They got two Pendants! Hopefully they won?t run into those Temple Guards?? Walter makes his way around the jagged ledges in decent time and takes the lower crawl tube into the Pit of Despair with 2:45 on the clock; from there, he heads across and opens the door to the Lost Treasury.  He slides on in, but before he can get started on the objective, out from the corner of the room jumps the first?
?TEMPLE GUARD!? Kirk declares (2:37). ?Gotta give ?im the Tem? er, give ?im the Pendant!? Walter quickly hands over the Pendant of Life, then goes to the treasure chest behind the ladder and pulls out a mirror, which he places on the pedestal in the front of the room.  It opens the door into the Bamboo Forest, and Walter goes on with 2:28 to spare.  However, as soon as he sets foot in the room, a second Temple Guard emerges from the ground and takes him out.
?Oh, another Temple Guard! Go Brittany, take off!? shouts Kirk, and Brittany passes through the gate and then slides down into the Cave (2:21). ?Walter got taken out right in front of the Cloak! Can she get it in time?? Brittany makes it into the Pit of Despair with 2:09 remaining, then enters the Lost Treasury with 2:02 left and finally passes into the Bamboo Forest with 1:56 on the clock.
?This is where that Temple Guard came out and scared Walter!? Kirk remarks as Brittany makes her way through the room by finding openings in the three parallel webs of bamboo shoots.  When she makes it across the room, she tries both doors for the Viper?s Nest, but neither opens (1:42). ?No doors opening, looks like she?s gotta find another way!? Brittany climbs and crawls back across the room, and eventually makes it back into the Lost Treasury with 1:26 to spare.
?Looks like he?s trying to find another way!? comments Kirk as Brittany starts climbing up the ladder in the Lost Treasury, towards the locked Central Dock room. ?That door?s not gonna open, she?s gotta find another way around!? Brittany jumps down only halfway up the ladder, and with 1:17 to go, she reenters the Pit.  She starts climbing up the stage-left wall of the room to reach the doors just above the plank-like beams; after some climbing, she makes it up on top of the platform connecting the two beams and hits the actuators for the Central Dock and Observatory doors, only to have neither open (1:01). ?Maybe she?s got a plan, what?s she gonna do now?? Brittany jumps down and slides back into the Lost Treasury with 53 seconds to go, then reenters the Bamboo Forest with just 48 seconds still available.
?She can go up!? Kirk comments, watching as Brittany starts climbing along the bamboo shoots in the room. ?Is she gonna go up?? Brittany makes her way to the only door leading up from the room, and finally hits the actuator with a little over thirty seconds on the clock.  The door leading upward opens, and she makes her way up into the Den of Totem Poles (0:27).
?All right, now she?s in the Room of the Three? Two? uh, Totem Poles!? announces Kirk as the audience and Walter cheer Brittany on. ?She?s gotta line up all the faces on the totem poles to open a door!? Brittany starts with the totem pole on the right side of the room and slowly turns the three sections of the pole so that they face the audience, starting from the bottom up; fifteen seconds are left when the first totem pole is complete. ?Oh, I don?t think she?s gonna make it!? The audience starts counting down as Brittany turns the sections of the stage left totem pole.  With three seconds left, the door leading into the Shrine of the Silver Monkey opens, but Brittany can only enter the room before time expires.
?Oh, time?s up, and they were just right on top of the object!? Kirk laments, Walter by his side. ?Walter gave it a great effort, Brittany gave it a great effort? they got kinda lost, but they still get the skateboards, and we gotta get outta here.  Join us again next time for more adventure and another great Legend of the Hidden Temple! Buh-bye!? The camera zooms out and shows rooms such as the Shrine of the Silver Monkey, Bamboo Forest and Viper?s Nest, along with Brittany?s return to the foreground, as the credits roll.

The enthusiasm that the show's host, Kirk Fogg, has especially during the early episodes of each season of Legends, makes it easier to watch the early episodes with disappointing outcomes, but even with that, this episode decreased in quality as it went along.  The Orange Iguanas were a close second in the Moat, first in the Steps of Knowledge and won the maximum two Pendants of Life in the Temple Games, but they didn't stand a chance in the Temple itself.

As much as it looks like the team tried the direct path to the artifact, one must keep in mind that the team was given no alternative, as is the case with many a team.  After Walter was taken out in the Bamboo Forest, Brittany made it up to that point, but then stalled excessively.

The door to the Viper's Nest didn't open, and Brittany didn't realize she could climb up from the Bamboo Forest? possibly because, in the first two seasons of The Rediscovery, there WASN'T a door connecting the Junction of the Secret Shafts/Labyrinth to the Room of the Ancient Warriors/Knights' Barracks.  She retreated to the Lost Treasury and then the Pit of Despair, double-checking any of the doors leading to the higher rooms of the central shaft.  Nothing worked, so with time ticking down, Brittany realized which way she had to go, but time ran out shortly after completing the objective in the Den of Totem Poles.  Basically, the team knew what to do for the most part, but the inclusion of a never-before-seen passage confused otherwise smart players.  Quite a shame, really.

Trivia and Records:
This is the first Rediscovery Temple Run in which the newly-available passage connecting the rooms of the third-from-left shaft is used (it appeared in the first two seasons of the original show as well, and was used a total of five times there).
