The camera zooms out from some water lying in front of the temple, and then we fade to Kirk and the two teams.
?Welcome back to Legends,? says Kirk, standing in front of The Tiger?s Den with the two remaining teams. ?Now the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest? so before we get started, let?s meet our teams. On the Blue Barracudas, we have Veronica. Now, Veronica, you?re a figure skater??
?Yes,? replies the short, dark-haired girl.
?So, then, how long have you been, uh, figure skating?? asks Kirk.
?I started when I was five, and I just kinda, uh, liked it since then,? explains Veronica.
?Sounds great,? comments Kirk, turning to her taller brown-haired partner. ?And also, we have Russell. Now, Russell, you collect coins?how many do you have??
?I have about a hundred and fifty,? Russell says.
?You have a favorite?? Kirk then asks.
?It?s one from Hong Kong,? he replies. ?It?s got like jagged edges all around it.?
?Ooh, that one sounds cool,? says Kirk in response. ?Let?s hear it for the Blue Barracudas!? The audience applauds for the team as Kirk turns to faced the boy with glasses on the Green Monkeys.
?And over here on the Green Monkeys,? he then says, ?we have Ted. Ted, I hear you?re a football player?what position do you play??
?Uh, quarterback,? replies Ted.
?Mm, quarterback!? replies Kirk. ?And, uh, how long have you been doing this for??
?About? four years,? recounts Ted.
?All right, cool,? comments Kirk, moving on to Ted?s fair-haired partner. ?And over here, we?ve got Vivian. She?s a violinist?for how long??
?Six years,? she replies.
?And, uh, do you have a favorite song to play?? Kirk adds.
?Not really,? Vivian says as she shrugs.
?Oh, OK, let?s hear it for the Green Monkeys!? shouts Kirk. The audience claps and cheers again, this time for the Green Monkeys.
?All right, well, why don?t you go get ready for your games?? Kirk says. ?Boys over there, girls over there?? Kirk points in different directions, directing the teams to their respective temple games, before facing the camera to explain the rules.
?In the temple games, teams are competing for pendants of life?? Kirk grabs a pendant out of his pouch and holds it up to the camera. ?The winning team will need those pendants to protect themselves from the dreaded temple guards, as they make their way through the temple. There are three temple games, so, Olmec, why don?t you tell us about Temple Game #1??
Olmec explains:
?Prince Edward fought in the Battle of Cr?cy, fighting his way to the end. Now you?re about to take part in a battle of your own. When Kirk gives the signal, grab a sword, run across the teeter-totter and push down one of the soldiers on the other side. Then drop the sword, run back, and do it again. The first team to knock down all four soldiers with their swords, or the team that knocks down the most soldiers at the end of 60 seconds? wins.?
?Good luck, gentlemen!? says Kirk in a deep voice. ?Let?s put 60 seconds on the clock!?
The clock appears in the corner of the screen. ?On your marks, get set? GO!? Russell and Ted both dash out onto the teeter-totter, cautiously crossing the platform as it tips downward into the pits of foam blocks on the other side. ?They?re over the tipping path now,? commentates Kirk, ?and now they?ve gotta? take their sword and knock down the soldiers!? The two boys both swing the swords at the first soldier, both knocking theirs down. [0:43] ?It?s neck and neck so far,? says Kirk, ?that means one mistake could cost either team!? Ted appears to be slightly more daring, moving at a faster speed across the teeter-totter, while Russell continues to put his arms out for balance. By the time the Blue Barracudas knock down the second soldier, the Green Monkeys are already on their way back for their next sword. [0:16] ?Still got a few seconds left!? shouts Kirk above the audience?s cheering, as Ted knocks over his third soldier and drops his sword into the rubble. But with six seconds remaining, Russell just manages to knock down his third. The audience begins to count down: ?Five? four? three? two? one??
?And it?s over!? announces Kirk as the clock hits zero. ?Let?s check it out!?
Kirk runs over to the starting platforms, where the two boys are catching their breaths. ?Well, the Blue Barracudas knocked down three statues, and so did the Green Monkeys, so it?s a tie?they each get the half pendant of life!? The audience cheers as Kirk gives both boys a high-five each. ?Well, it?s all tied up?let?s see what?ll happen in the next game. Olmec, tell us about our next temple game.?
Olmec narrates:
?King John I of Bohemia wore a feather-lined helmet during the Battle of Cr?cy. Today, you?re going to make a similar helmet. Before you stands a pond, and on the other side, a cave abandoned by the ostriches that once lived there. When Kirk gives the signal, cross the water using the stepping stones, grab an ostrich feather on the other side, then run back along the path, and place the feather on the crown. Then climb back up onto the shore and do it again. If you fall in, go back and start again. The team that has the most feathers on their crown at the end of 60 seconds wins.
?This could get a little wet,? notices Kirk. ?Let?s set the clock for 60 seconds, though.?
The clock lands in the corner of the screen with a bang. ?On your marks, get set? GO!? The two girls, harnessed and held on by elastic cords, begin to cross the pool?rather sloppily, too, with water splashing as they step onto the shaky ?stones?. [0:50] ?They?ve got to make their way across,? explains Kirk as Veronica grabs a feather and starts to make her return trip, ?and it?s real tough when those stones wobble around like that!? The Green Monkeys also return their first feather, but Veronica missteps and plunges into the water a few seconds later. ?Oh!? shouts Kirk. ?Blue?s gotta go back now?and that could cost them!? It does?the Green Monkeys catch up quickly and overtake the Blue Barracudas, with the score 4-2 Green with 16 seconds remaining. ?It?s gonna come down to the wire?can Veronica catch up?? Kirk asks rhetorically. As the final few seconds on the clock tick down, the Green Monkeys place their fifth feather on the crown, and the Blue Barracudas struggle to catch up?but TIME IS UP!
?That?s it!? yells Kirk to stop the players. ?Come on over here? oh man, they?re cold, they?re wet, they?re tired? it?s tough work, gathering feathers, isn?t it? Alright, let?s count up?the Green Monkeys got one? two? three? four? five feathers, and the Blue Barracudas got? two feathers?the Green Monkeys get the half pendant of life!? The audience cheers at this announcement.
?So now it?s one pendant for the Green, a half for the Blue,? continues Kirk. ?We?re gonna give these girls some time to dry off?but let?s check out Temple Game #3 first! Olmec, tell us about it.?
Olmec continues:
?Anyone planning to fight in a battle with Prince Edward would need to know how to ride a horse?and we?ve got a horse of our own that you?ll need to ride? for 60 seconds. When Kirk gives the signal, hold on tight?because the horse will begin to spin. The team with the most players on at the end of 60 seconds? wins.?
?Whoever wins? goes to the temple,? reminds Kirk. ?Let?s put 60 seconds on the clock!?
The clock crashes down into the corner of the screen. ?On your marks, get set? GO!? The horses begin to spin; no player showing signs of slipping at this point? ?But it?s still early on in the match,? comments Kirk, ?and things could change any moment now!? Something does?the direction of spinning, trying to shake players off. [0:40] But all four players hold on tightly, not showing signs of giving up. ?These are some tough teams!? yells Kirk. ?But remember, the Blue Barracudas need this game to go to the temple!? With the game nearing its end, still no one has fallen off, but the spinning has gotten faster and the direction changes sharper? but time runs out with all four players still hanging on!
?All right, nice job teams, it?s over, come on down here?? Kirk walks over to the airbags underneath the horses, where the players are getting off. ?Well, everyone stayed on, so they BOTH get the full pendant?but that means that the Green Monkeys had two pendants, the Blue Barracudas had one and a half? The Green Monkeys are going to the temple!? The audience cheers as Ted and Vivian burst into excitement.
?Congratulations to them,? continues Kirk, ?but these were two evenly-matched teams. The Blue Barracudas gave it a great effort?it came down to that last temple game?and they?re not going away with wasted efforts. We?ve got a great gift for them, and here?s what it is!?
Dee reads the prize:
?It?s a $100 iTunes gift card! Good for music, movies, and much more. Just log into the iTunes store and start searching, from Apple.?
?They?re excited, they?re pumped?are they ready for Olmec?s temple?? asks Kirk turns to the jumping team, who excitedly shout in reply. The camera flies towards the temple, flying past the bottom floor and stopping at the Grand Marsh. A pendant of life crashes together, and then we fade to commercial.
