The Heart Room / Blackbeard’s Treasure Map being Episode 1
« on: January 20, 2020, 01:39:50 PM »
This has been puzzling me for years and I want to know what the others think about this. I still don’t know why Blackbeard’s Treasure Map is supposed to be Episode 1 of the show. There are many things that support and also many things that contradict this statement. We obviously know that Lawrence of Arabia’s Headdress was the first aired episode, but it was one of the last episodes taped in Season 1 so it is technically not episode 1 in terms production. The editing of the episode altogether is pretty bad and there was a lot of confusion by Sabrina in the Temple (still one of the worst to go in due to being slow and pretty much waving the white flag early). Also there were no full credits here. That part might suggest it’s the first episode. The part of me suggesting that it wasn’t the first is because it appeared to be filmed on the same day as all other S1L5 runs were on (Ponce de Leon, Jean Lafitte, Delphi, & Leonardo Da Vinci) and had the same moat as those episodes (tubes). Meanwhile, the moat for Belshazzar, Galileo, and Wild Bill Hickok were different (rafts). The run for Galileo’s Cannonball was probably the first run ever to be completed since Kirk didn’t sound as energetic as he would be later on, and asking about the strategy Jennifer and Jammin Jon were going to use (he doesn’t do that in any other episode that I can think off). Now Belshazzar’s run was postponed to the S1L5 day for some reason which was the same layout Blackbeard had. So that possible lists 3 candidates for real episode 1: Blackbeard, Belshazzar, and Galileo.

What do you think?

The Temple Games / Best Steps of Knowledge combination! 3 Strikes
« on: July 02, 2014, 06:44:04 PM »
I'm surprised there is not a game for this. We are going to determine the best steps pair by doing 3 Strikes.

Rules:
You can give out 1 strike in 2 hours between non-consecutive posts. If no one posted since your last post in 24 hours, go again.
Vote on how the colors looked and how the episodes that had the steps went.
Like in Baseball, 3 Strikes = Out.

THE LOST HORNPIPE OF THE PIRATE CAPTAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And there you have it. The 20 year discussion of what is the greatest LOTHT episode is over. The Lost Hornpipe of the Pirate Captain will take sole possession forever as the Greatest Legends Episode ever. Congratulations to Jarrid & Jessica for making sure this was possible. They each will take a Golden Olmec.

There are a few people to thank. ;)
The most important is being place first, and that is each and every one of you who took time out of your day. This tournament wouldn't have been done without you voting for each matchup. TRJ, TSM, PPF, PP319, Viper, Brent, PP4L, RJF, TBK, and I all took part of this incredible tournament. :mrred:  :mrblue:   :mrorange:  :mrpurple:  :mrsilver: (If I forgot you, I'll add you on)

TRJ: For the inspiration of making this tournament of his idea of the Best win tourney.  :mrred:

TSM: For having the sub forum for the tournament. :mrsilver:

Jarrid & Jessica: For providing us the Greatest Legends Episode ever. Kirk said they were the best team and he is a man of his words.

Kirk Fogg: For making sure it's always a good time when you are watching LOTHT. Even though he Fogg's up a lot, he still entertains us and the contestants.

Dee Baker (Olmec): For being the real face of the show even though it is just a talking a stone head, Olmec is the face of this show and the face of the tournament. :mrsilver:

Nickelodeon & Stone Stanley: For providing us 120 episodes of LOTHT, an amazing series that was always fun to watch and never gets old.

And most of all...
John & Tia: You knew it was coming, right! :afro: Actually, I don't wanna to say thank you to these losers, I'd rather say Fuck you to them.

Once again, Thank you all for participating and help deciding our Greatest Legends Episode ever! :mrred:  :mrblue:   :mrorange:  :mrpurple:  :mrsilver:

Analysis: The incredible matchup is here! :mrblue:   The winner will get the Golden Olmec and end the discussion of which episode is the Greatest Legends Episode ever. We are left with two amazing ones who deserve this title.
Will it go to Lucky Pillow? With John & Missy, a very emotional team, they came back in the Temple Games and provided one of the best moments in "The Tiebreaker Touch"!  :afro: Missy was nervous all day, but that didn't stop her for having an awesome run that never gets old. The crowd and Kirk were the loudest they ever were when Missy crossed the gate with 22 seconds. One episode that deserves the title! :mrblue:
Or will it be Lost Hornpipe? With Jarrid & Jessica, one of the best teams on the show according to none other than Kirk Fogg, dominated against one of the toughest teams that ever lost the Temple Games (One in which was a Bag Collector     ). The Tough and tenacious Green Monkeys proved Kirk's statement right in the run where both players ran their heart out and won dramtically. Jarrid & Jessica proved that Lost Hornpipe must be the one here at the top.

One will win, the other will bite the dust. It's up to you to decide which episode is the Greatest Legends Episode ever! :mrblue:

Right now, I am keeping my vote secret. ;)

Oh, and do you want the winner announced here or in another topic like what TRJ did with his Tourney?

Saturday will be a big day at Belmont Park in NYC. California Chrome is trying to become the first horse to win the Triple Crown since Affirmed in 1978, 36 years ago. Since then; Spectacular Bid, Genuine Risk, Pleasant Colony, Gato Del Sol, Sunny's Halo, Swale, Spend A Buck, Ferdinand, Alysheba, Winning Colors, Sunday Silence, Unbridled, Strike The Gold, Lil E Tee, Sea Hero, Go For Gin, Thunder Gulch, Grindstone, Silver Charm, Real Quiet, Charismatic, Fusaichi Pegasus, Monarchos, War Emblem, Funny Cide, Smarty Jones, Giacomo, Barbaro, Street Sense, Big Brown, Mine That Bird, Super Saver, Animal Kingdom, I'll Have Another, and Orb all failed in the past 35 years. Can the streak be broken? (Colored are ones who had the TC on the line)

Analysis: As much as I would've loved to see Lucky Pillow in the championship, I have to pick Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress. This is my favorite episode and it deserves to be in the championship. No team had dominated the show like David & Candace did. David probably had the fastest Moat crossing in Season 1, already kicking things off with a bang, They swept the Temple Games, and then provided the best win of Season 1, possible the whole series. David was a boss at the Silver Monkey and when he grabbed the Headdress, he had the best exit of anyone. Very smart to climb the holes instead of the ladder. He squeaks by for an amazing win.
Lucky Pillow is one of my favorites as well, but not as good as the Headdress. It will still have my favorite moment of John touching Missy's boob.  :afro: This sets up for Missy's stellar run. She starts off slow at first but goes faster and proves to have the best skill of anyone as she grabs the Pillow and the crowd went crazy. Kirk was going crazy too and I have a feeling he likes this run the best.  :mrblue: I like Lucky Pillow, but Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress is better IMO.

Analysis: I will go with Lost Hornpipe on this one. This one is way better than John Sutter. TBH Lost Gold Mine had a relatively easy trip to the Elite 8. Lost Hornpipe had the best team, and a great run to top it off. John Sutter had some quirky moments and a good run as well, but Lost Hornpipe has to be in the Final 4.

Analysis: I will go with Apanuugpak on this. Simply put, Gator dominated the entire episode and the run was simply amazing. You can watch this over and over and never get sick of it, even when it was on the 20 episode cycle. Gator had the speed and skill to be the best. Snakeskin Boots was great too with the PP Pwnage, but Apanuugpak is better.

Jewel Encrusted Egg was great too, had some memorable stuff like two Kristens, Kirk jumping in the pit, and the run that finished Legends off.

Analysis: The battle of One Second Wins! I will pick Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress. It is crime if this isn't in the Final 4. This is one of the best episodes ever made, and Nickelodeon picked a good one to air first. David & Candace dominated all day, especially David during the run. Best Monkey assemble ever, and best exit of Season 1. He could be the best contestant on the show. Freydis was amazing too. But it looks like the Milk Bucket, like Tarrah, hit the wall here.

The Heart Room / The "Puke in the Pit" theory
« on: May 27, 2014, 09:43:32 PM »
I'm still confused by this. :?  I'm leaning toward either Missy or Tarrah. I'm ruling out what YouTubers think in Christina because I'm putting the key theory here. It could've been Missy because she was nervous all day, or Tarrah because of editing and her jumping right over the pit... that failed.
