The Heart Room / What was the first episode of Legends you saw?
« on: July 18, 2009, 06:47:56 AM »
The first episode I saw was "The Cracked Crown of the Spanish King", back in 1996. I was 9 or 10 at the time, and I was hooked.

Now, among college kids, owning up to watching the show makes you a badass.

Not among my circle of friends. If you own up to watching Legends to MY friends, you get laughed at for being a nerd! I know, cuz I owned up, and got the response "That gay ass show with the dumb rock?!! That show sucks!". I NEARLY CRIED WHEN I HEARD THAT!!! So SPEAK FOR YOUR DAMNED SELF RP!!! :evil:

And BTW, for the red text I AM YELLING and not just EMPHASIZING, RP!

I think you should make some new friends that like Legends.

Also, if anyone here has any bad experiences that they would be willing to come forth with, just let us all know. Hell, we can be our own little rehab group: Victims of Legends Haters!!!

Fortunately, I don't have this problem. Most of my college buddies grew up with basic cable, and most remember the show at least vaguely. It's better than nothing, but it really pissed me off when one of my friends called Olmec "Omar". :x

What are you gonna do, right? :roll:

The Pit / An Interesting Coincidence

Interesting topic. Back in the day, it never seemed that unnatural for a set of TV shows to have giant heads on them. Apparently, it was a theme that children of my generation enjoyed following.

It can all be summed up with a simple equation:

90sKIVA + GDH = BR.

90sKIVA = '90s Kids in Viewing Audience
GDH = Giant Disembodied Head

Stephen Hawking would be proud of me.

The Treasure Room / Was the artifact real?

The Royal Torque of Queen Boadicea was also a real historical object.  Boadicea habitually wore a large, golden necklace.  By definition, a torque (or torc) is a rigid piece of personal adornment made of twisted metal that can be worn as a bracelet, neck ring, or open-ended necklace.

The Dark Forest / Journalist Walter Cronkite dies at 92
« on: July 17, 2009, 04:12:25 PM »
Legendary CBS journalist Walter Cronkite has died of cerebrovascular disease at the age of 92. He was the anchor for CBS news for 19 years (1962-1981). Known by many as "the most trusted man in America", he was known for covering many memorable historical moments through television, including the Moon Landing and John F. Kennedy's assassination.

I myself never grew up watching this guy, but I respect what he did for television and the media in general. He will be missed.

Any thoughts?

The Pit / Bold Proposition To Bring Back Legends- PLEASE READ
« on: July 17, 2009, 11:28:36 AM »
It's a bold proposition, but I don't think it's possible.
First off, it would cost us out the wazoo to buy the rights to the show, and even if we could raise up enough money, we probably wouldn't know what to do with the rights.
Second, most of the people on this forum are just a bunch of teenagers. It's highly doubtful that unless we can use our older members (21 and up) as a mouthpiece, that we can catch Viacom's attention with this offer.
Call me pessimistic, but that's just the way I see it.

I received a lap dance from Britney Spears. She was wearing a green-sparkly dress and at the same time, I was in sweat and the song "Toxic" was playing as well. Although I had that dream around 2004-2005.

I wish I could have dreams like that. God knows how I've tried... :roll:

Although there were "other dreams that I had that involved in...  :D
