I'm giving this artifact a straight one. All this artifact is is just some stupid little scroll that is often used for props in the temple games. Unlike John Sutter, and hell most map artifacts, this doesn't even look like a map at all. It just looks like some piece of paper. What's with these dungeon artifacts sucking so badly? And more importantly, what's with the dungeon artifact EPISODES sucking so badly? Season 1 had a lot of crappy, uninspiring artifacts, and this is no exception. John Sutter was a lame artifact too, but it least it looked sort of like a map. But not this artifact. The only positive thing I can say about this artifact is that I like how the skeleton is holding the map. That's pretty humorous looking I guess. Other than that, it's a terrible artifact and terrible episode. Congrats producers for making "the first episode ever recorded" have an utterly lame artifact.

But not to worry you guys, tomorrow is artifact #110, being the Good Luck Watch. Which fortunately, is MUCH better than this "thing" right here. :afro:

I gave Blackbeard a 2. The artifact looks almost like a copper pipe or those brown parts of the toilet paper holders after you are done with it. The Map to the Lost Gold Mine looked MUCH better than this abomination and actually looked like a map. This thing doesn't even look like a piece of paper. :o Also, it was pretty lame that there was no figure in the moat during the story. I understand this episode is filled with choppy ending, but how hard was it for an intern to dress like a Pirate? Also, there are too many pirate stories in Season 1 already! Anne Bonny, Jean Lafitte, Blackbeard, etc. The reason I didn't give this a 1 was because I actually liked the legend. But other than that, this artifact fails to even look like a map. I guess there is nothing redeemable about this episode after all. :afro:

Looking at it a little more, it does look kind of like those brown rolls you see on toilet papers once you reach the end of it. Albeit MUCH longer than standard size. And yeah, why couldn't they get an intern to dress like a pirate? Wasn't there anyone who could resemble whoever the hell Blackbeard was? And there was never anything redeemable about this episode. What a bad pilot episode and artifact, huh? :afro:

I gave this artifact a 9. Like all the artifacts on the last ever filming day, this was an amazing artifact. I love the design/pattern the watch has, I love the detail it has, and I just love how the watch is heart shaped too. Very fancy, high quality, and gorgeous to look at. The only reason I couldn't give this a perfect 10 is because the artifact is a little too small for me. If Jay had actually escaped successfully with the watch, he'd better hold on to that thing for dear life and not drop it. Kind of like the Golden Earring and how small that artifact was. But, I guess you can't expect much from a stop watch for an artifact. Other than that, this was an excellent artifact and the producers did a great job with all the artifacts on the last ever filming day.

Just 10 more artifacts to go at this point. We should finish this thread by mid January maybe? But yay to us for getting to artifact #110! :afro:

I gave the Good-Luck Watch 10! This was the best artifact on the show IMO. The amount of details put into this artifact makes it almost look like the real thing! The design was beautiful, the details were beautiful, and the fact that they used a real clock for the watch shows that the producers put a lot of work into this artifact. Plus, the name and legend for this episode was superb. This was the best artifact on the show and it looked cool in the Tomb of the Headless Kings. Too bad the producers had to wait until the last day to give us awesome artifacts.

And this time I'm gonna wait for Brent to make his vote for this artifact. Seriously, this artifact is near perfect.

And I want to cover it in the episode review topic too, Nickelodeon logos and all. So expect Good Luck Watch to be covered in that thread somewhere down the road too. ;)

It may have been more than 6.5 years since anyone added to this, but should we get on with the Bonnet of Dolley Madison?
