I could start it somewhere down the road. I would try to post the entire script for the legend too because most of us don't remember it by heart. The Snow Cone one will be the most interesting one to rate. Or the Cosa Rara one.  :afro:
They'll both rank at a straight 1. We might as well rank it a 1 right now. :afro: But yeah, a script of the legend would definitely help. Even though I don't pay much attention to the legends, (they kind of bore me honestly), I'd gladly vote in the thread.

I didn't like half of the legends because they were almost always a love story or about fighting. Especially the Season 1 legends that felt like they were read right out of a history book. I did enjoy the legends that had nothing to do with love or fighting, like Annie Taylor's and Nose Ring's legend. But then you had Season 3 that had to add a twist to every story. And we also get crap like Snow Cone and Mummified Hand's legend. :afro:

Plus, there were those legends that just had ZERO to do with the artifacts namesake. Like with Atocha and Gwalior's legend. I mean, do we even know what an Atocha or a Gwalior is, at all?

But anyways, back to the artifact thread. Which I'll update tomorrow. Same with the new failed escape thread. ;)

And with a 7.25 average, time to end the poll for "The Enormous Iron Nose Ring of Babe the Ox." :mrsilver:

Up next is "John Sutter and the Map to the Lost Gold Mine." :mrblue:

I gave this artifact a 4. This was hands down, one of the best episodes of Season 1. Unfortunately, the artifact was less than impressive. It was just your typical Season 1 prop that didn't even look like a map. It looked like a scroll, which was easily the most overused artifact in Season 1. Also, wasn't this prop reused for the Treasure Map of Jean Lafitte? Although neither artifacts really look alike. While the artifact does sort of look like a map, it's uninspiring and extremely boring to look at. But when it comes to Season 1 map artifacts, I guess you can't expect much. Too bad, because this is my all time favorite Season 1 episode, at least after Lawrence of Arabia.

So, I decided to cover this artifact today instead of Blackbeard. And I really don't want to cover two terrible map artifacts in a row. So Blackbeard won't be covered at all for another two days. The Lion-Slashed Jacket comes tomorrow. Hope you don't mind. Though since this is two Season 1 map artifacts in a row we're talking about, I'm sure you won't. You're welcome. :afro:

I gave the Map to the Lost Gold Mine a 4. It was a pretty lame artifact where there was no thought put into it. I mean a folded up piece of paper? Although in early Season 1 I can be a little lenient, which is why I didn't give it a lower score like I did for Missing Weather Maps. And it does sort of look like a treasure map too. But still, it is so lame to look at. One of the best episodes on the show, but the artifact is seriously lacking.  :afro:

Yeah, Blackbeard had the "first" Map artifact. Just like it is the real "first" episode.  :afro:

I gave it a 5. Generic map artifact. Does the job, nothing special, but I felt generous.

I gave this artifact a 3. This artifact is just lame. It doesn't even look like a jacket that's been "slashed up." It just looks like some cheap decoration you mount on the walls. Furthermore, it's extremely boring to look at. The episode is lame, and so is the artifact. And I have very little to say about it either. But I suppose it's better than some other artifacts on the show.

Coming up tomorrow, the first episode ever recorded. And our first ever artifact. :afro:

I gave the Lion-Slashed Jacket a 7. I actually like this artifact and it actually looks like a jacket that would be worn by Sacagawea during that time period. Not only that, they did a pretty good job on making it look like the jacket was actually ripped up by a lion. So the artifact actually looks like the description of it in the episode title! On the downside though, it sort of looks like something they picked out at goodwill store and decided to make an artifact out. But still, it was a cool idea for an artifact even if the legend and episode was very forgettable.  ;)

I mean, I did sort of like the legend. It was interesting, especially since the producers decided to include lions for two episodes in a row. And the slashed up jacket looked much more accurate in the legend than the artifact did itself. Other than that, this artifact was lacking to me. But, I guess if this is what passes for a slashed up jacket for the producers, then good for them. ;)

Yeah, me too. I like how all four votes each have four different scores. Someone should come in and give this artifact a 6. Just to close the gap. :P
