And with a 6.25 average time to end the poll for "The Mysterious Manuscript of Mary Shelley." :mrblue:

Up next is "The Very Tall Turban of Ahmed Baba."

I gave this artifact a 6. The artifact is nice looking, even the gaudy jewel/bead doesn't ruin it. And it does sort of look like a turban, at least it looks more like a turban than the Lost Taj Mahal Turban did. But what drags it WAY down for me is that the turban.... isn't exactly "very tall." You know, like the episode title says? If anything, it looks extremely short. Where did the "very tall" come from? Was that just thrown in the episode title just to exaggerate what the artifact looks like and the story behind it? I do like the artifact, and it is very pretty looking. But I would've liked it a little more if the turban was actually as tall as the producers say it is.

And coming up tomorrow is the sister brother artifact, the Enormous Iron Nose Ring. :mrsilver: So we're covering both Jamie and Joel's artifacts back to back. Just like their episodes were produced back to back on the show. And this wasn't even rigged by me either. :afro:

I gave it a 7. I think it's one of the better made artifacts on the show.

I gave Ahmed Baba a 6. This is one of the best named artifacts on the show, but it does not even look like a "Very Tall" Turban at all. I am assuming that the producers exaggerated a little bit on the title to make it unique. Just like the Enormous Iron Nose Ring isn't that enormous. An both episode were filmed back-to-back too. ;) As for the artifact itself, the Turban is actually a good idea for an artifact because it incorporates other cultural items to the show. And I do like the glittery color of the artifact too. On the downside, the artifact looked a little too bland for me. And they really should've made it VERY TALL like the episode title states. ;) Good idea and it sounds interesting for an artifact, but I like the Taj Mahal Turban better.

Yeah, I always thought the producers just named it "very tall" just to exaggerate the title of the episode. And I also liked how green and glittery the artifact looked. Very pretty and shiny, something I would like to own too. I actually prefer this to the Lost Taj Mahal Turban, which just looked like a Chinese lantern that's used as a party supply. Oh well, still a nice artifact nonetheless. Just wish it was actually you know.... a "very tall" turban. ;)

And PS, the Enormous Iron Nose Ring was pretty enormous. But more on that tomorrow.

I gave this artifact a 7. I know it's just a nose ring, but I like the way it looks, and it does look visually pleasing. And it's certainly MUCH more interesting than most artifacts on the show. I also like how it looks exactly what it's supposed to be, an enormous iron nose ring. And unlike the previous artifact, at least the producers got the size and description of the artifact accurate. On the downside though, it's a little too cartoonish. And the size of the ring is a little exaggerated. While it's a nice looking artifact, it's a little hard to take it seriously. I mean, how many nose rings do you know are as enormous as this artifact is? Even if the ring is intended for animals, or oxes, in this case. Very interesting and nice looking artifact, but it's a little on the cartoonish side.

And it looks like Blackbeard is up tomorrow. I'm not sure if I want to cover this artifact just yet, but we'll see when next update comes. :afro:

I gave it a 7 as well. It serves the purpose perfectly. But it is just a giant nose ring. Kinda hard to screw that up, or make spectacular. It just kind of is what it is.

I gave the Nose Ring an 8. Unlike some of the other artifact titles they over exaggerated on (Ahmed Baba, Battle Flag), this one fits the legend perfectly. Most of us, if not all, are familiar with the Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox story. So the size of the Nose Ring actually looked like something that belonged to Babe. Plus, I really enjoyed the legend in this episode and all of the silly references to it in the temple games. Legends should've focused more on fictional characters like in this episode instead of making stuff up like in Snow Cone and Bifocal Monocle's legend. :afro: Good legend, perfect artifact, and an interesting plot through the whole episode. The only reason it didn't get a higher score was because the Nose Ring looked a little bland and fake. But still a good and fitting concept. ;)

"Bells on Babe's neck. Isn't that a song?"

And funny, it's the opposite thing for me. I thought the artifact looked pretty, but the cartoonish size kind of dragged it down for me. Oh well, still an interesting artifact nonetheless. And I also liked the legend along with the artifact too. ;)

Maybe a "Rate the Legend" thread should happen at some point?

Maybe. I wouldn't object to that. Who would start it though?

I could start it somewhere down the road. I would try to post the entire script for the legend too because most of us don't remember it by heart. The Snow Cone one will be the most interesting one to rate. Or the Cosa Rara one.  :afro:

They'll both rank at a straight 1. We might as well rank it a 1 right now. :afro: But yeah, a script of the legend would definitely help. Even though I don't pay much attention to the legends, (they kind of bore me honestly), I'd gladly vote in the thread.
