Yeah, Gareth was too fat. Rinette was too slow, ugh. I still like this episode. The first half was the key part.

The Ruby Earring of Benzibab - Good all around. Love the Silver Snakes, awesome team. Kirk was so dull, yet enthusiastic at the same time! Oww, that hurt!!! I was dying! When Kevin was running across the top of the Pit of the Pendulum with the Ruby Earring, Kirk said "he's got the watch!", so it's safe to assume this episode was filmed the same days as "The Good-Luck Watch of Empress Eugenie"

The Ivory Hunting Horn of Roland

Olmec seemed to have a lot of fun in this episode.  He used the Roland pun when asked if he was ready for the moat crossing, and during the legend explaination, he made a quip about "having more tricks than David Copperfield" which I thought was funny.  The temple run itself is magnificent.  The frontrunner was pretty fast and quite smart, and makes it out in a brisk 1:49, the second fastest completion in the show's run.

The Priceless Portrait of the Polynesian Girl

A rather strange design, but a very exciting non-win.  Also, listen to Olmec's voice when he does his typical "SHRINE of the Silver Monkey" deal.  :)

Didn't you basically copy the "Olmec had a lot of fun in this episode" part from The Room of the Mandarin Hand site? There were only a few paraphrasing differences...

The Ivory Hunting Horn of Roland:
I'ma just skip right to the temple run for this summary. Yakera of the Red Jaguars volunteers to go in first. She moves at a decent speed and doesn't encounter any real problems. She slightly hesitates at times, but she made it to the Shrine where the Horn was located, only encountering one temple gaurd in the Tomb of the Headless Kings along the way. One thing to notice is that she grabs the Horn, then starts running for the door that the temple gaurd normally emerges from in that room before she found the room's exit. She ran across the top floor, picked up a spider prop in the Crypt and recorded the second fastest completion that the show had seen. Good for her.

The Priceless Portrait of the Polynesian Girl:
Good moat crossing, good steps of knowledge, close temple games. For some reason, i remember the interview with the Purple Parrot girl that claims to have gotten struck by lightning from when i was like 7.... Anyways, the Silver Snakes won 1 & a 1/2 pendants to the Parrots' 1/2 so they are granted entry to the temple. Jim goes in first, meets a temple gaurd in the Crypt, swings across the pit, enters the Room of the Mandarin Hand, meets his second temple gaurd and is removed from the temple. Kristin (who talked about painting as one of her hobbies in her interview with Kirk) runs it at a good pace. She starts to go into the Mandarin Hand but quickly turns around. She then proceeds to shrug at the camera and look around. Then she grabs the hidden half pendant which was on the Observatory's acuator. What made her turn around? I will never know. It was pretty random that she turned around i thought... she must've caught a quick glimpse of the pendant before she went into the Mandarin Hand and then decided to go back. Anyways, she meets a temple gaurd in the Observatory so good thing she foundthat pendant half. Once in the King's Storeroom, she gives another big shrug to the camera before smashing the pots. Time was running low in the Shrine of the Silver Monkey, but luckily, she completes it and heads down to the Dark Forest. She actually makes up some time there and completes the objective quickly. She enters the Jester's Court, and this had to be the quickest anyone ever completed the objective in that room. Luck was on her side there. She runs into the Laser Light Room (which i thought was an odd spot for the Portrait). She grabs it! There's 14 seconds left!?!? Will she get out!?!? No... she was just entering the Ledges as time ran out... tough luck. I found it pretty funny that one of the only (if not, then THE only) contestants to ever talking about painting with Kirk was the one that grabbed the Portrait. This was the closest that anyone ever got to exiting the temple with an artifact from the bottom central room. This was a very exciting loss and i like this episode a lot.

Sweet, you got the 200th post.

The Ivory Hunting Horn of Roland - Pretty good. Solid Moat, I like that one. Olmec was funny, Steps of Knowledge were good. Temple Games were close, I like the come from behind ones. The Temple Run, Yakerra wasn't too fast or too smart, she had some hesitants & some mix ups, easy layout, but still pretty good.

The Priceless Portrait of the Polynesian Girl - Good Moat, kinda easy though. Good Steps of Knowledge. I also remember the Purple Parrots girl thing from like a young age. That was my memory thing, some of you know how I said I just remember random parts of episodes, this was one of them. Good Temple Games, Kristen was so funny with her look in the King's Storeroom. It was close, love how she likes painting & grabbed the Portrait.

By the way, not like this matters at all & I'm not trying to offend anyone, but some of Kraig's actions during the episode makes me think he might be gay, not that it matters at all, just stating it, he's still awesome & a good teammate. He cheered Yakerra on, but he wasn't backseat driving like some people (The Melted Head of Madame Tussaud & The Smashed Printing Plate of Fredrick Douglas come to mind immediately)

I noticed something, in The Priceless Portrait, when Kristen goes down to The Dark Forest, Kirk says she has to take the long way, but that's the shortest way to go.  Also, a person who was going after an artifact in The Tomb of the Headless Kings completed the Jester's Court just as fast by going right to the middle one

Yeah, I noticed the "long way" comment also. I also noticed how the Temple Guard door in the was really crooked & broken when he came out to get the Pendant of Life from Jim. But when Kristen came in, the door was fixed.

Did you also notice that Kirk said that he hoped she wouldn't encounter a Temple Spirit? The problem was that she had already encountered three Temple Guards, so she didn't have to worry about them.

I never thought about it, but I do remember him saying that.  That door thing was weird too, it looked like this ll with only the top right half opening

The Two-Cornered Hat of Napoleon - Pretty good Temple Run, 15 more seconds and she would've been out

The Melted Head of Madame Tussaud - The girl (not sure on her name) could really yell!  The boy needed to be faster, and he should've went right to the middle suit of armor like he was going to do, or went up to The King's Storeroom.  It could've been close getting to the artifact, and even getting out.

Funny that both have to do with Napoleon

Haha, that was yet another Jennifer! She could yell like Rachel (The Missing Portrait of Hans Holbien) & Dana (The Smashed Printing Plate of Fredrick Douglas). Man, I can still hear all 3 of them in my head every day. I'll do the reviews in the 3-4 shift, because all I saw in the 10-11 was like the last 30 seconds of The Melted Head of Madame Tussaud.

The Two Cornered Hat of Napoleon -
Pretty regular episode, but it has an exciting finish. During the second temple game, which was that mountain climbing game, you could clearly see the Crown of Queen Nzinga chillin up in the Lightning Room. Anyways, skipping to the temple. Red Jaguars won, Brian volunteers to go first. He only makes it to the Laser Light Room before letting out the most girly scream ever screamed by a boy. Carly runs in with 2 minutes to go. She makes it to the Mineshaft and tries the door to the Shrine, but it's locked so she'll have to take the elevator... DAMN IT! She goes upto the Lightning Room and plugged in the power cords which was only done twice in the show's history. Time is running down when she goes into the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. She finishes the statue with like 8 seconds left. She grabs the Hat in the King's Storeroom and makes it upto the Observatory before time runs out. There's really not much i can think of that they could've done differently to win... I guess getting lucky in the Laser Light Room would've helped (the last block revealed the light), or putting two rocks in the bucket at a time in the Rock Quarry.... or maybe even assembling the monkey faster? I dunno... but once she grabbed that hat, she was movin fast. If she woulda had another 10 seconds, this would've been a win. This is my favorite Red Jaguars temple run, despite it being a loss.

The Melted Head of Madame Tussaud -
This episode was pretty comical. Before the moat starts, Olmec and Kirk do some french stuff together. Then right when the moat starts, the Purple Parrots fall face first into the water. Then at the end of the moat, Kirk's commentary is like this "It's going to be between the Purple Parrots and.... It's the Purple Parrots!" Moving onto the Steps of Knowledge. This is one of my favorite Steps of Knowledge rounds. It seemed like it was very high tension. The Green Monkeys answer a question and it goes something like this: "Napoleon *huge pause*... Bona*mumble*..." Olmec gave it tothem anyway. Also, when the Orange Iguanas answer their final question, it's a team effort for the correct answer. When the Purple Parrots answer their final question, it goes something like this "He wanted a sculpture of his... uhm... i can't say it... face?" So it's Iguanas vs Parrots in the temple games. The temple games are pretty average. Something to take a look at is that the boy on the Orange Iguanas isn't wearing a name tag... weird. The third temple game was that one where they have to run out an retreive an item before getting hit by a huge boulder. In the beginning of the game, Jennifer of the Orange Iguanas runs out to early and is slammed back by one of the boulders... it's pretty funny. Now the temple. Nick decides to enter through the Crypt and in the pit, he chooses to go to the Tomb of the Headless Kings. This turned out to be a bad choice as we could see all 3 doors in the pit opened and Nick ended up having to climb the central shaft before moving forward. He met a temple gaurd after completing the Chamber of the Sacred Markers and his reaction was pretty  good. When he gets to the King's Storeroom he seemed to be having difficulty and Jennifer was freaking out from the sidelines. OMG, it was hysterical, unlike when Dana from the Printing Plate episode was screaming at her partner. Then in the Room of the Ancient Warriors he goes to the middle suit of armor... gets out of it and moves to the next one... HOWEVER when he is in the other suit of armor, you can see some moving shadows from the middle suit of armor. Nick then goes around the middle suit the suit closest to the central shaft... that one doesn't work either. He is helpless now so he tries the middle suit, is grabbed by a temple gaurd... These kinds of grabbings are the reason why i love the Room of the Ancient Warrior. Jennifer runs in now, she kinda hesitates in the Pit, but she goes straight upto the King's Storeroom and makes her way tothe Shrine. She doesn't quite assemble the monkey in time. During the credits, Jennifer looked really sad an disappointed. Oh well, that's how it goes.

EDIT: Whoa, sorry for the EXTREMELY LONG episode summaries this time.. doubt anyone will read them, but i felt that such episodes deserved in depth analysis. I really liked both of these episodes... even though i was rooting for the Purple Parrots in the second episode.
