The Heart Room / Worst consolation prize?

Also they never had good video games, it was always stuff like "Porky Pig's Haunted Holiday".  Oh well, even a bad SNES game is a lot better than a tuna savings bond.

Hey, they had NBA Jam as a consolation prize in "The Trojan Horseshoe". Pretty decent game.

Episode: The Diamond Necklace of Marie Antoinette
Layout: Season 4, Layout 5
Team: Blue Barracudas
Artifact Location: The Bamboo Forest
Result: Made It!
Time Left: 0:16

Rebecca started in the Cave of Size, but only the door to the room of Royal Gongs opened, whee she met her first guard. After progressing to the Mandarin Hand room, she, trying doors leading towards the artifact, went down to the Throne Room, where she was taken out. Crispin raced in, going directly to the Royal Gong room, followed his partner's trail to the Mandarin Hand room, finding the half pendant on the way, and went up to the Storeroom. He smashed the pots, found the right suit of armor, and assembled the statue. He didn't notice that the Shrine-Dungeon passage opened, and he went to the Viper's Nest, meeting thethird guard and finding a dead end. After backtracking to the Shrine, he went down to the Dungeon, busted through the wall, found the key and entered the forest. He grabbed the necklace and raced out with 16 seconds to go.

Comments are welcome! :)

Kirk: Welcome back to Legends. Now the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest, so give it up for Maya and Jason of the Orange Iguanas and Rebecca and Crispin of the Blue Barracudas. Now, in the Temple Games, the teams will compete for pendants of life. They need these pendants to protect themselves from the dreaded temple guards as they make their way through the temple. There are 3 games, so let's get to it!

*the games are played*

Kirk: The Blue Barracudas have a pendant and a half, and the Orange Iguanas have a half pendant, the Blue Barracudas are going to the temple!
The Orange Iguanas gave it a gret ride, we enjoyed having them, and we have a great gift for them, and here's what it is.

*they get $50 Target gift cards*

Kirk: Welcome back to Legends. The Blue Barracudas have proven themselves worthy and now Olmec will give them some information to help them retrieve the Diamond Necklace of Marie Antoinette.

Olmec: You could start by running up the stairs to the Room of the Royal Gongs. Press the correct gong and you could gain access to the Troubled Bridge. Croos the bridge, and you could go up to the King's Storeroom. Smash the clay pots to find the key that could open the Room of the Mandarin Hand. Push in all five fingers and you could gain access to the Room of the Ancient Warriors. Place yourself in the correct suit of armor and you could choose to enter the Shriiine of the Silver Monkey. Assemble the Statue, and you could enter the Viper's Nest. Release the Snakes from the correct vase, and you could climb down to the Dungeon. Smash through the wall to unlock the Tomb of Ancient Kings. Find the key, and you could go to the Bamboo Forest, where you can grab the Diamond Necklace. If you escape, you may have a chance to sit on the Throne of the Pretender. If the stone slab is up, race through the wheel room, climb through the Cave of Size, and back through the Temple Gates. The choices are yours and yours alone. You have one and a half pendants. Who's going first?

Rebecca: I am!

Olmec: Very well, Rebecca. When Kirk says go, you'll race into the temple in search of the Diamond Necklace. Hidden inside the Temple are temple guards. ou can give one your pendant and go o, but if you don't have a pendant, you'll be taken out, and it will be Crispin's turn to try your luck. Hidden somewhere in the temple is the other half of your pendant. If you find it, you'll gain an extra life. If you bring the necklace out of the temple within 3 minutes, you will be handsomely rewarded, and here's how.

Announcer: For making it to the temple, you'll both get a $250 Target Gift Card! If you get the Necklace within 3 minutes, you'll recieve an Xbox 360 with 4 games: Top Spin 2, Tomb Raider: Legend, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and Project Gotham Racing 3! If you bring the necklace out of the temple within 3 minutes, you'll both be headed to Puerto Rico!

Kirk: Ooh, Puerto Rico! Hope we can get them there. Rebecca, in position. On your mark, get set, go!

Kirk: They'll have to pass some tough physical and mental tasks, and in the end only one team will have the right to enter Olmec's Temple. But first, they have to cross the moat, and Olmec will tell us how they'll do it today.

Olmec: Before you lies a rope. The first player will swim across with the rope, wind it around the pole and hold on tight. The second player will then grap the tope rope and walk across the bottom round. The first four teams to hit their gongs will go on to the next round!

Kirk: Teams, are you ready?

Teams: Yeah!!

Kirk: Olmec, are you ready?

Olmec: Let's Rock and Roll.

Kirk: OK then, on your mark, get set, go!

*Moat Crossing*

2nd: Orange Iguanas
3rd: Blue Barracudas

Kirk: As the quest continues, It is now time for Olmec to tell us about the Diamond Necklace of Marie Antoinette. But pay attention, because your knowledge of the legend can get you one step closer to Olmec's Temple.

*Olmec tells the legend*

Kirk: Thank you, Olmec. Tell us, where is the Necklace?

Olmec: The Diamond Necklace of Marie Antoinette can be found in the Bamboo Forest.

*Teams answer the questions*

The Heart Room / Re: Favorite example of bad editting on the show?
« on: July 04, 2006, 02:22:25 PM »
Personally, i just love the bad editting and voice overs that occured on Legends constantly. One of my favorite examples happened in a season 1 episode (I don't remember which.... but it might've been "The Golden Cricket Cage of Kahn").  It was during a moat crossing. The Green Monkeys were going to be the 4th team to cross, but for some reason, they were disqualified!  Then, the purple parrots ring in 5th and are allowed to advance instead of the green monkeys. What's weird is that, when the green monkeys are running to hit the gong (as Kirk is announcing their d/q) only the boy player runs to hit it. Neither of the monkeys look very excited and their gong light doesn't turn on. Then it shows a bad shot of the parrots ringing in and their gong light turns on. Then is does a far shot where you can see all the teams and their gongs. The green gong is lit and the purple gong is not. They obviously made the green monkeys and the purple parrots redo hitting their gongs so that they could get the shots of their gongs lighting up... Pretty funny if you ask me.... and i really dunno why they green monkeys were d/q'd either... it's pretty unclear.

It was in John Henry's Lost Hammer.

I would've liked to see an artifact related to Marie Antoinette. Maybe a guillotine blade?

"The Severed Head of Marie Antoinette" How's that? (I think I'll do that one)

And, "The Missing Feather Pen of John Hancock" (I'll take this one too)
