I really think the Tigers need to do something big if they want to win a World Series. They've missed a few golden opportunities and I don't think they can afford any more misses.

So, it's the All Star Break already and the Orioles are 10 games over .500. This is pretty good so far considering many people felt that this team would fall apart. And PP319's Red Sox have the best record in the AL so far too. Pretty good considering they finished last in the division last year.

The ASG is tomorrow then it be the second half. Hopefully the Orioles can get it together and make another playoff appearance.

Um, the ASG is on right now on FOX. ;)

I haven't followed MLB that much this year. However, I've been intrigued by this year's Pirates team. This might be their year to break .500 and maybe make the playoffs! :o

As a Giants fan, I'm struggling to accept this season. We were so good the last few years, but this year, everything fell apart. I'm hoping we have time to recover and make a strong comeback in the second half. The NL West is bad enough to allow it, so it's up to us to take advantage.

Big news today, as 12 players have all agreed to 50-game PED bands, and A-Roid A-Fraud A-Rod could soon follow:

Major League Baseball and 12 players have agreed to 50-game suspensions for their roles in the Biogenesis case, multiple media outlets reported Monday, with the harshest penalty, against Alex Rodriguez, set to be handed down in the afternoon.

Rodriguez will be suspended through the end of the 2014 season in an announcement to come at 3 p.m. ET, sources told ESPN's T.J. Quinn. Rodriguez is expected to appeal and will be allowed to play until his appeal is heard.

The players' union made a late appeal to MLB for a deal for Rodriguez but was told there would be no more negotiations. He will be punished under the Joint Drug Agreement and other areas of the league's collective-bargaining agreement but will be allowed to play while he appeals.

The other players, initially confirmed by FoxSports.com, who have agreed to the suspensions without the right to appeal are:

• Everth Cabrera, Padres shortstop

• Jhonny Peralta, Tigers shortstop

• Antonio Bastardo, Phillies reliever

• Francisco Cervelli, Yankees catcher (on DL)

• Jordany Valdespin, Mets outfielder (minors)

• Jesus Montero, Mariners catcher (minors)

• Cesar Puello, Mets outfielder (minors)

• Sergio Escalona, Astros pitcher (minors)

• Fernando Martinez, Yankees outfielder (minors)

I hope A-Rod gets banned for life. He cheated on multiple occasions and tried to destroy evidence. Nothing more satisfying right now seeing him and the Yankees falter.

This was like the worst World Series scenario for me. It seems like the Cardinals make the World Series every other year, so I am not too impressed seeing the, there. Likewise, I hate the Red Sox with a passion. I'd rather see the Cardinals win the World Series anyday over Boston. :roll:

Although you have to give the Sox credit for having one of the worst records in baseball last season to having the best record and making the World Series. Go Cardinals!  :mrred:

Rooting for the Sox, too (although I wouldn't mind seeing Beltran win it all). I've basically hated the Cardinals ever since they beat my Mets in the 2006 NLCS. :(
