The MLB Thread
« on: May 20, 2012, 12:08:16 PM »
Since the other three big North American sports have their own topics, this one should have one too.

I'm not sure if anyone knows this or not, but my favorite team is the Red Sox. Been a tough year for us though. Very tough. :(

Orioles are looking strong right now though. However, every year there seems to be an unexpected team that gets a great start and then they tank horribly. Last year, the Pirates got a great start and we all know what happened to them as the season went on.

I'm a Giants fan. They've been pretty mediocre thus far, but I haven't given up faith that they'll become a great team. Things have definitely slowed down since our World Series win two years ago.

The Orioles are still in first place somehow and its almost the end of May. Of course, we lost a close game to Boston tonight. But they are starting to get it back together, so I see them being at the top of the AL East by middle of June. The Yankees are overrated and I don't think they will make it to the playoffs this season.

While my Mets have been decent, yet somewhat inconsitent (except for Wright- he's been great).  :|

The Phillies are struggling too. :?

They had a lot of injuries to key players like Cliff Lee. They are still at .500 though and there is plenty of baseball left to be played.

Let's just say enjoy it while it lasts.  :mrpurple:

I struggle whether I prefer for the Giants or the A's and despite liking both teams, I tend to lean towards the A's with a 55%-45% difference. I've also been struggling to watch the games on TV due to my waning interest in television and other stuff.

Just playing around. ;)

Great for the Mets. First great thing to happen to them in a while.

So yesterday Matt Cain threw a perfect game for the Giants. That was the second perfect game thrown this season and five within the last two years. That is pretty amazing considering how rare they were in the past. And of course, that is not counting Galaragga's (sp?) game that should've been a perfect game. Man has times changed for the pitcher.

And it looks like my Orioles are finally getting back on the right track. I know next week we play TSM's beloved Mets, so I hope we stomp them.  :mrred:

And I just have to say, F*** the Yankees. Every year this team starts off poor.  Then they will build up momentum and start dominating the regular season where they seem like they never lose. Even though we have won five straight, we are still a half game behind them.

Now now, don't get overconfident. We all know it'll be the other way around since the Mets will have home field advantage.  :mrblue: :mrorange:
