It is pretty embarrassing that both players on one team ranked at the very bottom of the list. No other team beside both John and Tia made it to the bottom. And they both occupy the lowest spot too. John and Tia are easily the worst temple team too.

I am kind of surprised to see Jessie from Silk Sash on that list. But she wasn't that great anyways. She sucked in the moat and her temple performance was mediocre. Out of all of the players that made it to the bottom 10, she is the most surprising.

Ron sucked pretty bad, but I didn't expect him to be the lowest ranking Red Jaguar. :o It was his cheating in the moat that brought him down. Plus, he wasn't very good in general. I hate him anyways and he deserves it.

Nothing to say about Karisa, except she was a disgrace and David did all the work.

Kristen was a waste of space too. Scott carried this team throughout the show, and she ruins the temple run and doesn't give him a chance. She didn't even try at all in this episode.

Claude should be embarrassed for ranking on John and Tia's level. He was so awful and Marie did everything in that episode. He was an amazingly bad player.  :o

Overall, good final list. I agree with all of these except for maybe Jessie. I am surprised that neither of the Xerxes kids ranked low either.

Well, the problem with Jessie was she ranked low in pretty much every round, especially the moat. You even did rankings on her too, but on mine, she ranked a little lower. As for the Xerxes kids, they had averages in the mid 5 range. Their performances on the Steps helped a bit. And yeah, Ron's cheating in the moat REALLY bit him in the ass. Not to mention, he didn't get any higher than a 5 on the temple run. Keep in mind that the players who ranked the worst had averages in the 4-low 5 range. So there is bound to be some surprises.

And yeah, John and Tia ranking the worst AND with Claude joining them is pathetic. I think we all can agree that John, Tia, and Claude are the worst players ever. Oh well, you should try doing these rankings again. I'm starting to miss them. ;)

I really want to do the Chandragupta/Bandit Queen day since it seems like a very interesting one. And now that I found out the tunnel game was used only in Bandit Queen and Thornwood Gavel, I am interested in doing this day to see how it turns out.

Chandragupta is a great episode. It would be interesting to see how Andrea final rankings are, as well as Shaun who never entered the temple.
Lion-Slashed Jacket was boring, but Mike and Lauren will be interesting to rank too.
Bandit Queen will definitely be interesting for Zac's dominance and Miriam's temple performance.
Thornwood Gavel will probably be the most interesting IMO, especially since Mike and Kelli were very dominant before the temple run. It will be interesting to see how Kelli's temple score brings her overall one down.

So yeah, I might attempt this production day tomorrow night. :P It wasn't a bad day at all, and Bandit Queen is still fresh on my mind. I still have the Iron Nose Ring day too, but I don't care for Ahmed Baba and Ivory Elephant at all. :P

Well, you don't have to do it right away, just when you feel like it. As for me, I'm pretty much done with the rankings. I honestly can't think of a production day I want to rank next. If it helps, I have Bandit Queen's production day ranked. And I can tell you that the likes of Zac, Andrea, and Shaun score very high. Everyone else is about average. I also have Tall Turban's filming day ranked. From what I remember, Joel scores in the 8 range, and Shane only scores in the low 6 range. So it's not like you're really missing anything at all. But it's totally up to you. If you don't anymore rankings here, there's always episode rankings. That's updated more recently than this anyways. But when you do rank them here, I'll gladly read them over.

So, now that I'm back I guess I should finish what I started.  Looking back through the thread, I left off at S1L7, even though I actually have up through S2L1 done.  Way back when some server error deleted some of my progress.  I went back and watched the episodes to double-check my thoughts (I changed some rankings around, but only by a point or two) and to remember what I thought about each episode.  So let's get back to this with S1L8.  And as always, discussion and debate is open.

Overall, I thought most of these, with the exception of Pecos Bill's Lost Lariat, were pretty boring episodes.

KING TUT'S COBRA STAFF:

Purple Parrots - Eusinia
Moat: 6
Steps of Knowledge: 6
Individual Temple Game: 7
Team Temple Game: 8
Temple Run: 5
Overall: 6.4

Purple Parrots - David
Moat: 5
Steps of Knowledge: 6
Individual Temple Game: 4
Team Temple Game: 8
Temple Run: 5
Overall: 5.6

Blue Barracudas - Stacy
Moat: 6
Steps of Knowledge: 7
Individual Temple Game: 6
Team Temple Game: 5
Overall: 6

Blue Barracudas - Joe
Moat: 7
Steps of Knowledge: 7
Individual Temple Game: 5
Team Temple Game: 5
Overall: 6

Notes about this episode: This episode really wasn't very exciting to watch.  In pretty much every round, you knew who was going to win or move on even if you hadn't seen the episode before, and that's only fun to watch if the winner does just a purely amazing job, which definitely can't be said about Eusinia and David.  The Temple Run was okay.  Eusinia and David weren't amazing but with time running out just a couple rooms away, it was kind of exciting to see if they would get to the staff (Assuming that you didn't already know, like all of us).

THE DRAGON LADY AND THE BLUE PEARL:

Orange Iguanas - Jennifer
Moat: 7
Steps of Knowledge: 2
Individual Temple Game: 5
Team Temple Game: 6
Temple Run: 8
Overall: 5.6

Orange Iguanas - Albert
Moat: 4
Steps of Knowledge: 5
Individual Temple Game: 6
Team Temple Game: 8
Temple Run: 5
Overall: 5.6

Red Jaguars - Christine
Moat: 6
Steps of Knowledge: 1
Individual Temple Game: 5
Team Temple Game: 5
Overall: 4.25

Red Jaguars - Robbie
Moat: 7
Steps of Knowledge: 5
Individual Temple Game: 5
Team Temple Game: 7
Overall: 6

Notes about this episode: This was a little better.  The Temple Run situation was similar with a not very amazing team but still a close, exciting finish thanks to Jennifer hustling to make up time, though this time with a disappointing finish.  This time however, the Temple Games were a close matchup.  Especially in the last two games, you didn't immediately know who would win.  Moat and Steps were still less than exciting.

THE CODEBOOK OF MATA HARI:

Silver Snakes - Rinette
Moat: 6
Steps of Knowledge: 2
Individual Temple Game: 5
Team Temple Game: 5
Temple Run: 3
Overall: 4.2

Silver Snakes - Gareth
Moat: 6
Steps of Knowledge: 8
Individual Temple Game: 4
Team Temple Game: 5
Temple Run: 6
Overall: 5.8

Blue Barracudas - Gigi
Moat: 3
Steps of Knowledge: 1
Individual Temple Game: 5
Team Temple Game: 1
Overall: 2.5

Blue Barracudas - Brian
Moat: 7
Steps of Knowledge: 4
Individual Temple Game: 5
Team Temple Game: 4
Overall: 5

Notes about this episode:  Here's a perfect example of how even if the competitions are close, it's not exciting if the "best" people still suck.  People know this episode for the controversial "furthest along" calls in the Temple Games, but honestly, it was probably better that the Silver Snakes won because they were clearly the better team, even if that isn't saying much.  The only one I thought was remotely okay was Gareth.  I give credit to him because he wasn't horrible, and at least he was pretty smart, just not very physical.

PECOS BILL'S LOST LARIAT:

Green Monkeys - Colleen
Moat: 6
Steps of Knowledge: 6
Individual Temple Game: 7
Team Temple Game: 8
Temple Run: 8
Overall: 7

Green Monkeys - Chris
Moat: 6
Steps of Knowledge: 4
Individual Temple Game: 6
Team Temple Game: 7
Temple Run: 5
Overall: 5.6

Blue Barracudas - Janelle
Moat: 7
Steps of Knowledge: 6
Individual Temple Game: 7
Team Temple Game: 7
Overall: 6.75

Blue Barracudas - Hank
Moat: 8
Steps of Knowledge: 7
Individual Temple Game: 5
Team Temple Game: 8
Overall: 7

Notes about this episode: This one was very fun to watch because not only were the contestants actually good, but the rounds were very close and competitive.  In fact, if Chris hadn't have screwed up so badly in the Temple Run, I would say this was one of the single best episodes in Season 1.  I'm a little torn about who won, though, because I really liked Hank and Janelle and wanted them to win, but at the same time I know that Colleen did really well to earn that win.  Chris, being the clear worst of the four, definitely shouldn't have earned the win, but all the more to Colleen for making up for that and still winning.

ROBIN HOOD AND MARIAN'S SILK LADDER:

Silver Snakes - Erica
Moat: 8
Steps of Knowledge: 6
Individual Temple Game: 5
Team Temple Game: 8
Temple Run: 7
Overall: 6.8

Silver Snakes - Jeremy
Moat: 6
Steps of Knowledge: 7
Individual Temple Game: 4
Team Temple Game: 7
Temple Run: 5
Overall: 5.8

Purple Parrots - Nicole
Moat: 7
Steps of Knowledge: 3
Individual Temple Game: 4
Team Temple Game: 6
Overall: 5

Purple Parrots - Dustin
Moat: 7
Steps of Knowledge: 5
Individual Temple Game: 3
Team Temple Game: 7
Overall: 5.5

Notes about this episode: To nobody's surprise, this was a pretty lame episode.  I can say that Erica and Jeremy definitely deserved to make it to the Temple Run over the Purple Parrots, but I don't think they deserved the grand prize win.  Erica maybe, but definitely not Jeremy.

Awesome, nice to see THK back in doing these rankings. I know that you had S1L8 done before the database crash. It's nice to see you have them up though. ;) Here is what I think:

I personally find the Cobra Staff episode pretty exciting. Good and unique temple game sequence and the temple run was pretty exciting too. Kind of weird to see both Blue Barracudas rank higher than David. I thought he did alright for the most part. I would've even given him a higher score in the temple than Eusinia due to being more competent at least.

Blue Pearl was a great episode and very exciting. I am surprised to see Albert and Jennifer both rank that low though. They were pretty good. It looks like Jennifer's fast speed in the temple saved her score from being lower. That was an amazing comeback by her and other second runners should follow her lead. I would've liked to see both players in the 6-7 range, but I guess my rankings for them might be generous.

Mata Hari was complete crap though and I definitely agree with the rankings for this episode. When a 5.8 is the highest score in the whole episode, you know none of these teams were good. The way Rinette won her temple game was complete crap too. It should've been a tie at least. Although Brian not beating her is kind of embarrassing too. And Oh God, that final temple game was hilarious. Gigi literally never made it up the first hill of the Dragon Tunnel. Her partner had to come and grab their secret document in order to score. Rinette and Garrett weren't much better. I agree with you though, I feel that the Silver Snakes deserved to go to the temple too over the lowly Barracudas. The temple run was pretty "meh", but your scores for them seem pretty accurate too. Rinette was horrible with the little time she was given.

Lost Lariat was a good episode also. This episode featured solid players all around. Well, at least in comparison to the other S1 teams. Colleen was definitely the star of this episode though. Chris was okay until the temple run too. At least he won his individual game. The temple run is what brings Chris down. Colleen was the fastest girl of S1, but Chris was one of the dumbest second runners. I would've given him a 4 in the temple because he was so slow and blew so many opportunities that would've save him time. Terrible player.

And then we have Robin Hood, the lamest win in the series. The rest of the episode was good though. Jeremy and Erica were very strong before the temple. First in the moat, first in the Steps, temple game sweep, and then win the temple. Erica was the all-around better player. She was definitely deserving of that temple win too. She made it through 5 rooms in under a minute. Jeremy was the bad one though, and I would've gave him a lower score in the temple. He looked confused and walked the whole way through. And the victory dance at the end.

Blue Pearl > Cobra Staff > Lost Lariat >     >>>>> Mata Hari in terms of episode rankings that day.

Nice to see your rankings back up. Surprised to see how low some of these contestants rank, but S1L9 will be interesting to rank. With Ron the Cheater from Anne Bonny and David from Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress. ;)

Damn, look at Gigi's score. Only a mere 2.5 average? Fuck. And yeah, it was better that the Silver Snakes went to the temple in Mata Hari. Can you imagine what Gigi would've been like in the temple? And it looked like neither team was impressive in Silk Ladder, though Erica seemed like a stronger player than Jeremy by far. Though it could've been an easy Purple Parrots win. :( Oh well, I liked S1L8's filming day. The only truly bad episode was Mata Hari, and you can imagine why.

My opinion probably changed from a year ago, but I didn't really like S1L8 save for Pecos Bill's Lost Lariat.  It felt like sometimes it was way too obvious who was going to win and you weren't wondering what would happen so much as just waiting for it to happen.  Honestly, it was mostly the moat because a lot of teams just couldn't do it, and the last team or two always seemed to take forever.  I think the bad start to the episodes made me a little more cynical.

Yeah, most of the moat performances on this production day weren't good anyways. Especially since the moats seemed to take longer due to waiting for the last two teams to cross. One question I have though about King Tut's and Blue Pearl's moat. Do some of the players really need to be graded? For those moats, one player was merely being pulled in by their partner, and naturally just had to sit on the tube. That really doesn't require any skill, and in my rankings of both those episodes, some of the players just sitting on the tube got an "N/A." But, I suppose it depended on how fast they were being pulled in. I hope you know what I mean there.

I don't really remember what I was thinking about that way back when.  Probably something about actually reaching for the inner tube, how much they struggle to actually get in, and if the help pull themselves across and how fast.  I don't really remember.  It was probably pretty much an automatic 5 or 6 unless you somehow helped get it done quicker or, on the other end, if you were too dumb to live.

Yeah, that moat was pretty painful to watch. I remember the Cobra Staff and Mata Hari one being long. :o I guess all of them were long too. I agree with THK that the bad moats kind of ruin an episode for me. When a moat is takes too long to complete, it kind of sets a tone for the rest of the episode. Not that all long moats are bad episodes, but they do make you wish that it will be over already.

Heh, too dumb to live. I suppose it doesn't matter too much, since that aspect of the moat only happened in King Tut and Blue Pearl. All the other episodes required both teams to cross it the same tired way they would in any other Season 1 moat. But in my rankings (and PP319's rankings of King Tut), I gave those players an "N/A" since sitting on a tube doesn't really require skill. But yeah, a really long moat where it looks like the players don't belong on the show ruins the episode a bit for me.

Let's finish off Season 1.  With S1L9, it seemed the episodes started out really good, but progressively got worse (though even the worst ones were still watchable for the most part).

LAWRENCE OF ARABIA'S HEADDRESS:

Green Monkeys - Candice
Moat: 7
Steps of Knowledge: 7
Individual Temple Game: 7
Team Temple Game: 7
Temple Run: 7
Overall: 7

Green Monkeys - David
Moat: 10
Steps of Knowledge: 6
Individual Temple Game: 9
Team Temple Game: 7
Temple Run: 8
Overall: 8

Red Jaguars - Brittany
Moat: 4
Steps of Knowledge: 1
Individual Temple Game: 5
Team Temple Game: 5
Overall: 3.75

Red Jaguars - Angel
Moat: 9
Steps of Knowledge: 6
Individual Temple Game: 7
Team Temple Game: 6
Overall: 7

Notes about this episode: If I had to name a best episode of Season 1, it'd be a close one between Henry VIII's Great Seal and this one, and I'd probably say this one.  For the most part, every round was competitive and exciting.  The Moat wasn't the biggest nail-biter ever, but at least they were fast enough that it actually felt like a race.  The Steps of Knowledge were VERY competitive.  Candice and David actually barely scraped by as there was a three-way tie on the final step for the second spot in the Temple Games (and honestly, part of me is thinking I may have been too generous to them in that round).  The Temple Games were close, at least as far as David vs. Angel.  Brittany kinda sucked and it was pretty clear Candice would beat her, but it wasn't so much of a beatdown that it became boring.  And to top it all off, one of the most exciting finishes to a Temple Run ever.  David was stuck with less than 30 seconds to get out of the worst room possible to have to escape from, and still managed to do it right in the nick of time.

THE COLLAR OF DAVY CROCKETT:

Silver Snakes - Shannon
Moat: 7
Steps of Knowledge: 5
Individual Temple Game: 7
Team Temple Game: 10
Temple Run: 7
Overall: 7.2

Silver Snakes - Adam
Moat: 7
Steps of Knowledge: 7
Individual Temple Game: 7
Team Temple Game: 7
Tiebreaker Bonus: +1
Temple Run: 5
Overall: 6.8

Red Jaguars - Abby
Moat: 8
Steps of Knowledge: 4
Individual Temple Game: 8
Team Temple Game: 9
Overall: 7.25

Red Jaguars - Eric
Moat: 8
Steps of Knowledge: 7
Individual Temple Game: 8
Team Temple Game: 8
Overall: 7.75

Notes about this episode: While not nearly as good as Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress, I still really liked this episode, despite a less than amazing Temple Run win.  This is one of the rare episodes where all four players in the Temple Games were really good.  I especially liked the Steps of Knowledge where Abby and Eric actually had some catching up to do in order to edge out the Blue Barracudas.  Again, all of the Temple Games were close matches, and the Silver Snakes (mostly Shannon) really put it into high gear in order to win the team game and then the tiebreaker.  It's a little conflicting though, because Abby and Eric actually seemed like the better team, even though Shannon and Adam were a pretty great team themselves.  Either one of the teams would've deserved the grand prize, though I wish that would've showed more during the actual Temple Run.  If the Silver Snakes (Adam in particular) had done somewhat better, I'd be more fine with the fact that their layout was relatively easy.

THE SNAKE BRACELET OF CLEOPATRA:

Silver Snakes - Tracy
Moat: 6
Steps of Knowledge: 2
Individual Temple Game: 6
Team Temple Game: 7
Temple Run: 7
Overall: 5.6

Silver Snakes - Robert
Moat: 6
Steps of Knowledge: 6
Individual Temple Game: 8
Team Temple Game: 7
Temple Run: 10
Overall: 7.4

Orange Iguanas - Samantha
Moat: 7
Steps of Knowledge: 2
Individual Temple Game: 7
Team Temple Game: 6
Overall: 5.5

Orange Iguanas - Joshua
Moat: 7
Steps of Knowledge: 6
Individual Temple Game: 7
Team Temple Game: 6
Overall: 6.5

Notes about this episode:  There was a quality decline here from the previous two episodes.  While I still liked it and it was still good, it wasn't as exciting and the players weren't as good, save for Robert.  I really don't have a lot to say about this one.

THE TREASURE OF ANNE BONNY:

Red Jaguars - Catherine
Moat: 7
Steps of Knowledge: 6
Individual Temple Game: 6
Team Temple Game: 6
Temple Run: 9
Overall: 6.8

Red Jaguars - Ron
Moat: 2
Steps of Knowledge: 6
Individual Temple Game: 6
Team Temple Game: 7
Temple Run: 4
Overall: 5

Green Monkeys - Joanna
Moat: 6
Steps of Knowledge: 7
Individual Temple Game: 6
Team Temple Game: 5
Overall: 6

Green Monkeys - Nate
Moat: 6
Steps of Knowledge: 5
Individual Temple Game: 7
Team Temple Game: 6
Overall: 6

Notes about this episode: The worst of the 4, though despite the stupidity and cheating by Ron in this episode, I actually still enjoyed it, mostly thanks to "Fred" (this is actually one of the few episodes where I genuinely enjoy the "getting to know the contestants" part).  Despite Catherine's strong start, Ron made this one of the most annoying Temple Runs ever, but thanks mostly to the Temple Games, I could still enjoy the episode overall.

I personally would've given David a "9" for the temple run, and Ron a "1" for the moat. If you cheat in ANY round, you totally deserve to get a "1." That's at least what I did for my rankings of this episode, which is somewhere in this thread. And you're right, after Davy Crockett, the episodes do get weaker and weaker, with Anne Bonny being the weakest link of the four.

S1L9 is easily the best production day of Season 1. And one thing I noticed that every episode had at least one temple player that stuck out as being "dominant" for their team that day. In this case being David (Lawrence of Arabia), Shannon (Davy Crockett), Robert (Snake Bracelet), and Fred (Anne Bonny).

I agree with these rankings too for the most part. I would've gave David a 9 in the temple too. He had an amazing performance. Besides detouring into the Fallen Columns and Cave of Sighs, he was very fast and his Silver Monkey was incredible considering he grabbed all 3 pieces at once. And his temple exit was the best on the show. Which is why I would give him a 9. Nice to see this Green Monkeys team get a good score overall though.

And wow, the Red Jaguars outranked Shannon and Adam in Davy Crockett? Well, the Silver Snakes did sort of scrape by their whole episode and only won their team game. The temple win was pretty easy and is probably in the bottom 5 on the show, but I don't mind it too much. Adam is the one that ruins it, he was so slow. I might've given him a 4 in the temple.

Snake Bracelet was a good episode. Robert was easily the most dominant. He answered all the questions correctly in the Steps and did all the work in the temple games. And he was amazingly fast in the temple too. Tracy drags down this win a lot though. She was very slow and wasted time in the Observatory. They would've broken the Benzibab team record if she would've gotten her act together. And I like how the Purple Parrots didn't even make it to the temple games in this episode. Since they were the first team to get two questions correct in the Steps. :P

Anne Bonny was definitely the weakest link this day. Ron was a cheater and his moat score really brings him down. But he wasn't a great player all day either. He failed in the temple run hard also. He had more than enough time to bring the artifact out of the temple. Pathetic temple loss. But I agree, Fred was awesome. I like how she says she is "weird" in her temple interview and she was one of the few S1 players to cheer for their partner. Pretty exciting run, even if Ron sucked. Ron is a disgrace to the Red Jaguars.  :(
