All kids TV has gone downhill. It doesn't just seem that way because we're grown-ups now, it has actually turned to shit. Sure, there are a few good ideas that get aired, but the majority is toy commercials and fluff-pablum-drivel aired five times a day. And it's affecting the standards too. What was once an internationally revered show featuring a nurturing environment to educate basic math, language, and social skills has turned into 'Look at Me!' theater.

I blame the day PBS gave Lamb Chop's time-slot to Barney.

I usually don't think Joel Stein's columns are funny, but I'm relieved someone shares my hatred for Elmo. I never liked him, even watching the show growing up.

I don't watch much kids' TV these days, so I can't comment on its general quality. To its credit, Sesame Street did do a good L&O spoof (Law and Order: Special Letters Unit). Admittedly this will fly over kids' heads, and it's questionable to introduce them to a sex-crimes show, but as an L&O fan I liked it enough to forgive them for introducing Abby Cadabby.

I don't understand how people had a hard time figuring out why present day children are obese. I blame it on TV. We weren't obese because we were imitating Legends of the Hidden Temple and GUTS and other live action shows when we were kids. There are no more live action shows for kids to imitate now. It's all Spongebob. *vomits*

Why didn't I think of that?!?! That's my solution to childhood obesity...build a temple and have them run through it in under three minutes. If they don't make it, no dinner, kids!

Oh, you emo young'uns. This kid is really pathetic for thinking that insulting an old children's show will make him look cool. That said, however, this shouldn't be bothering you nearly as much as it is...like I've said in other threads, not everyone will share your opinions.
