Pretty good ranking for the Silver Snakes in Snake Bracelet. They were definitely a consistently good team throughout their episode. They should've definitely finished with more time in the temple run though. Robert was blazing fast, but Tracy moved a little slow. Imagine if the order was reversed in the temple? They would've probably beaten Benzibab's team record. Of course, they wouldn't have increased their score in your rankings though. But it would've been pretty neat to see.   :mrsilver:

Also, Happy 23rd Birthday to GM1! To return the favor, I'm sending Lauren (Dried Apple Half), Chris (Lost Lariat), Jeremy (Robert the Bruce), and the Xerxes kids to throw you a surprise party!  :afro:

All jokes aside, enjoy your special day!

Today I lost my best dog friend in the entire world for the last 15 1/2 years. To say I’m heartbroken is an understatement. She was absolutely the love of my life for all those years, and I don’t know what I’m going to do without her. I love you so much, Chloe, and I’ll miss you!

Sorry to hear that, TSM. :( I know the exact feeling about losing a pet you grew up with. I lost my cat back in 2014 due to liver disease. I had him for 15 years and still get sad thinking about him being gone. Especially since he died while having a seizure. My family eventually got a new cat who helped ease the pain somewhat. But he will never replace my original cat.

Don't worry, I think your ranking system is fine. ;) I understand you're trying to go for a more objective approach as opposed to an subjective approach. I know we've had our own ranking systems in the past, but those ones were more personal. I like how you're trying to rank the teams on a more objective approach. I think you're doing a good job so far and I will try to go back and review all your recent rankings. ;)

I think your rankings have been pretty accurate so far too. Even though teams like Buddha and        had easy layouts, they were still very strong prior to temple runs. So their high rankings are pretty justifiable. On the other hand, the Silver Saddle Horn and Mata Hari teams ranked low, which is pretty accurate based on my memory of those episodes.

Almost done with Season 1! It will be interesting to see how low Ron ranks in the Anne Bonny episode.  :afro:

I'm not surprised to see the       kids rank high. They were very dominant before the temple run - first in moat, first in SOK, and won 2 Pendants in temple games. The temple run was a different story though. Even if the layout was easy, they should've finished with more than 29 seconds on the clock. Erica moved fast, but Jeremy was slow and clueless. I'm definitely surprised to see them rank higher than the Lawrence of Arabia team. Based on your rankings, it seems Jeremy and Erica ranked better in the SOK. But I think the temple run is a different story. I would personally give David and Candace a higher temple score since they faced a much tougher layout and David completed his rooms at an impressive rate.

Good rankings so far though. It's been a while since I watched Legends related material, so it's nice to see some discussion about the episodes.  :mrred:

If he is still here, Happy Birthday TRJ! Enjoy your annual gift of the Keys of Alhambra. :mrred: :jaguars2:

Thanks, GM1!  :mrred: But you can keep those dirty Keys to yourself. Maybe I can lock you in the Dungeon with them and Lisa.  :afro:

No surprise to see the Green Monkeys to be the best overall team. They had the most wins on the show and a lot of them were good quality wins. Lawrence of Arabia, Emiliano Zapata, Lost Hornpipe, Chandragupta, and Mussel-Shell Armor were all solid wins. They also had some strong non-winning teams too like Good-Luck Watch, Discarded Seal, and Belle Boyd. They didn't really have many bad teams either outside Dried Apple Half and Xerxes. And they had a good artifact retrieval percentage in all three seasons.

I'm surprised Red Jaguars ranked in third place. They are almost a bottom of the barrel team to me. Despite having double the temple appearances of the Purple Parrots, they only had 1 extra win than PP. And one of those wins is the tainted Shaka Zulu win. 3/4 of their wins came from easy temple layouts too. The only good Red Jaguars teams were Genghis Khan, Two-Cornered Hat, Royal Torque, and Catherine the Great. Other than that, it felt like half of the temple runs featured bad teams. Alhambra, Blackbeard, Nzinga, Missing Weather Maps, Smashed Printing Plate, and Silver Saddle Horn just to name a few. If it wasn't for the Purple Parrots lack of temple appearances, I would personally rank them as the worst team.

Orange Iguanas are no prize either. They also had twice as many temple appearances as the Purple Parrots, but only have one extra win. They had some pretty strong teams like Blue Pearl, Sir Gawain, Mush Pot Hat, Dolley Madison, Lucky Medallion, and Levitating Dog Leash. But they also had many bad and average teams. Just like the Red Jaguars, the number of temple appearances keep them from the bottom.

I think the Blue Barracudas are the most rounded team in the first 2 seasons. They didn't really have any bad teams except for Lucky Pig and Lost Logbooks. Unfortunately, their lack of appearances in Season 3 and no temple wins during that season doesn't help them. I would rank them higher than Red Jaguars at least.

My personal ranking would be:
1.) Green Monkeys
2.) Silver Snakes
3.) Orange Iguanas
4.) Blue Barracudas
5.) Red Jaguars
6.) Purple Parrots

Worst.

Year.

Ever. :( :?  :|

I'm with you, GM1. I will be turning 30 next month and had some big goals going into this year. Now I'm ready to jump forward to 2021.  :afro: Although I try to count my blessings considering I still have a job and no one in my family has been infected with COVID yet. But this year has been an absolute nightmare for sure.  :(

This is actually the same Wiki that Renegade Pancake/The Manarin Hand started 10+ years ago. I have an old account named "The Golden Idols" on that website. It's been a while since I've used it. The amount of detail is very impressive too. I think it covers pretty much every little detail about the show.  :P

I have to work during this lockdown too. Fortunately, I can work from home for most days and we have a limit of 10 people per day in my office.

Do you work retail, PP319? I worked retail for 7 years, but fortunately I got the hell out 4 years ago. I can't imagine being around customers during these crazy times. They were already annoying AF during normal days. I can't imagine how they're acting during the pandemic. I know when I got to grocery stores to show, I try to be extra appreciative towards the workers. I've seen a lot of people complaining about petty crap during this lockdown.

Not sure how long this lockdown will last, but I'm slowly accepting that it might impact the rest of 2020. Which sucks for me because I had a lot of good stuff happening in the past year. Maybe the hot summer will help slow the spread of the virus, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Based on the other Season 2 layouts with the Swamp, I assume that the King's Storeroom-Swamp door was locked. Which is unfortunate, since it would've created some interesting layouts if it the ladders were accessible like the S2 Jester's Court. Plus, didn't Gracelyn check the ladders to see if those doors were opened? It seems like the two corner ladders never opened at all, even when the contestants grabbed the artifact. My guess is that the King's Storeroom was just a deadend. It would be strange for Gracelyn to miss th eShrine door opening. It would also be strange for Kirk to not mention it opening either.

The Heart Room / Re: Blackbeard’s Treasure Map being Episode 1
« on: January 22, 2020, 06:56:32 PM »
The producers probably have some kind of official "episode roster" that determines when each episode will be scheduled. Blackbeard was probably "Episode 1" on the episode roster and when the producers realized they couldn't tape it as part of S1L1, they moved the episode to S1L5. But they never changed the episode number on the "episode roster" since it was originally planned to be "Episode 1", but was postponed. And when they submit their roster to the television stations, they kept Blackbeard as "Episode 1". That's the best explanation I can come up with. It would be nice to  interview Sabrina and James about their experience with this episode and whether their episode was really postponed or not.

I'm not really sure if the Belshazzar temple run was ever taped in S1L1. I always felt they postponed the temple run altogether because of how much time they spent taping the earlier rounds. If the temple run was really taped in S1L1 originally, then it would be a big inconvenience for Katherine and Ron to have to come back another date just to finish their run. Too bad their temple run was postponed just for them to end up with a hot mess of a layout in a later temple layout. But it's also possible they did try to tape their temple run in S1L1 originally too, but were time barred due to first production day quirks. As you mentioned, the Galileo and Dead Man's Hand layouts were messed up too. Maybe one of these days we will get a chance to interview the Belshazzar kids. ;)

The Heart Room / Re: Blackbeard’s Treasure Map being Episode 1

I think the best explanation would be that Blackbeard was originally schedule to be taped as a part of the S1L1 episode, but was postponed to a later date most likely due to time restrictions. Blackbeard is essentially only "Episode 1" on paper. There's no way that this episode was taped as a separate Pilot episode like past forum members use to state. This episode was most definitely taped with the other S1L5 episodes for a few reasons:

1.) The moat rejects from Blackbeard return again in the Leonardo Da Vinci episode.

2.) The production team and Kirk don't sound awkward and confused like in S1L1.

3.) The moat and temple games in Blackbeard are the same as the other S1L5 episodes.

With that being said, there's evidence that Blackbeard was not originally intended to be a S1L5 episode and was probably shoehorned into that layout at the last minute. First off, the editing in this episode is atrocious. During the moat, there's no video tape of the intern like the other S1 moats. Also, the camerawork during the temple run was shoddy and there were no credits at the end of the episode. Most likely because the episode was rushed and they didn't have time to clean it up. Also, the fact that Belshazzar and Blackbeard's temple run use the same temple layout could be the reason why the producers shoved Blackbeard into S1L5.

To answer your other question, Belshazzar was definitely the first episode produced. In one of Kirk Fogg's interviews, he states that the first ever episode took 18 hours to tape. This would make sense if it was the Belshazzar episode because they would have to postpone the temple run due to unusually long taping time. Galileo was probably the first TEMPLE RUN produced since the Belshazzar run had to be postponed. It also explains the weird awkwardness during the temple run. Also, Jennifer stated during her interview that the Mine Shaft elevator crapped out for Jammin John and they had to retape part of that run. PS: Galileo wasn't the only run where Kirk asked for the team's strategy. He also did it in some earlier S1 runs like Lost Gold Mine, Golden Ship, Lost Hammer, and Sultan Saladin. ;)

Long story short, Blackbeard was probably originally planned to be "Episode 1" but due to time constraints they had to postpone it to a later date. But they never changed the episode number on the official roster since it was planned to be part of the first production day. This is my take on it. ;)

Sorry to hear about your Packers losing, GM1. The 49ers are a strong team on both sides of the ball. I don't think any team in the NFC except Seahawks would've beat the 49ers. Even my Ravens barely beat them at home.

It looks like we get 49ers vs. Chiefs Super Bowl! This looks like a great SB matchup on paper featuring the top defense facing the top offense. Definitely the Super Bowl I wanted the most out of the 4 remaining teams. And the best part is that there's no Patriots.  :mrred: :mrred: :mrred: :mrred: :mrred: :mrred: :mrred: :mrred: :mrred: :mrred:
