Extreme Slowness

Is it just me or does it take about 20 seconds for a post to appear after I click the "submit" button, be it quick reply or full reply for everybody? I don't remember the forum ever being this slow on my internet connection... which is usually decently fast.

It has been a bit slow for me lately, basically ever since I switched to Chrome.

I've been having the exact same problem. I have to refresh the page three times just to see my post. (And make sure I dont double post).

Same here. Google Chrome may be fast, but the posts take a little longer to load. Plus, not all the new posts I've previously visited are shown as "read".

I've noticed a slight decrease in speed myself. However, that doesn't seem to be in effect right now.

On my laptop, yes. On my friend's laptop, no. I have a feeling that it may have to do with the computer itself. But yes, there has been a noticeable decrease in posting speed.

EDIT: I stopped the page when posting, and it came up when I clicked on the index. Just posted in the Main Spam Topic rather instantly, though. Very strange...

Yeah, I had problems with posting speed for the past few days myself, and it's still going on.  However, I noticed that the posts themselves show up pretty quickly? it's the redirect that takes forever.

EDIT: Okay, so sometimes the whole thing happens pretty quickly.  I dunno if it has to do with whether I'm using a regular reply, quick reply (how ironic if that's why it's been failing so bad ) or if I'm just editing, but the last couple times I edited a post didn't give me as much trouble.

It differs between topics, that's what I can conclude. For example, this topic is taking forever to redirect, while the Main Spam Topic earlier tonight was uber fast.

Now my page doesn't redirect AT ALL. I left the dreams thread open, where I just posted, and it's still "posting". No page timeout message on Firefox, nothing. It has been there for the last five minutes or so...

Update: I think it's pretty much gone. Probably was a temporary thing with Forumer updating the servers or something like that.

I'm wondering whether something is going on with Forumer, since the majority of people who use this site are coming from Asian countries, particularly Southeast Asian. I heard it's popular in the Philippines from experience. Much of the population who have internet access use the forum as an alternative to talk rather than using phone, since it must be pricey and Forumer is mostly free. They tend to use internet cafes for access though.

Also, I'm not making prejudice remarks about people from Asia, it tends to be people from the specific country. I do remember when a Filipino guy during the 90s made the first widespread computer virus on the internet. (Just a random thought that somehow felt relevant to me).

Or it's simply that Forumer is doing a bad job in cyber security. I mean what kind of antivirus program are they using?
