I know, she could've easily just kept it and ran in, but she was a team player and gave it back to Ty, and it was a smart move, he blazed through The Temple

It would've been, the Temple Guard would've had to pull him into the old entrance, and Jennifer would run by, and Ty could talk to her. What if that happened in a season one episode? There would be no place to put him

Probably put him in the "that's not he Cave of Size" part, where Chris ran. I remember at the end of some temple runs, Kirk would be like "come back out " & the first runner would come out through the wrong Cave of Size.

I think that's where all of the doors where the Temple Guard came out led to, but they really wouldn't have time, as soon as he was caught the other person would start

Good question. Here were 2 ways Rene could've saved the run, & probably gotten the Crown out:

A - Get the [obvious] half pendant in the Swamp
B - Not put her hand in the tree, but go into the Mine Shaft. It would be much easier to go into the Mine Shaft & ride the elevator up to the Lightning Ball Room, where the Crown was, rather than to get her hand in the tree, go up to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey, assemble the monkey, than get the Crown.

How could you not think to look in The Swamp for a half pendent, there's two places it could be, and you might even look right at one if you try that door

I know. That was an odd layout. 3 temple guards next to each other. Did you notice the half pendant is usually on a door (or ladder in the Treasure of Ann Bonney) leading to a temple guard?
