I'm just curious, but why were the three of you who went for it leaning towards Uzbekistan? That was the correct answer, but I'm still wondering what the reasoning was.

Otherwise, I admit that was a hard one, so I don't blame anyone for jumping over it.  As a fun fact, Uzbekistan is one of only two countries that is completely surrounded only by other landlocked countries; the other is the much smaller Liechtenstein, wedged between Switzerland and Austria.  Anyway, that question was worth $3000 to those of you who answered it; that's going to shake up the scores a little...

Everyone's still in it, and we're now only six questions away from the million and two away from Round 2.  Some of you no longer have a Jump the Question handy, so I'd like to remind you that if you choose to walk away from either of the remaining Round 1 questions, you will keep half of your winnings and those will be added into your all-time scores on the leaderboard I'm keeping track of.  Miss a Round 1 question and you lose the bank.  The next question will come sometime tomorrow evening, but hopefully not too late.

For me, I knew Kazakhstan has a border with Russia and Kyrgyzstan has a border with China, so it was between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

Oh thank goodness I didn't guess! I would've said C: Kyrgyzstan. I knew it was a landlocked country and was bordered by the landlocked country of Tajikistan, but it also bordered China, which is bordered by numerous seas. One other thing that threw me was that the right answer (Uzbekistan) borders Turkmenistan, which is bordered by the Caspian Sea. Wouldn't that make Uzbekistan wrong then? Wouldn't there be no right answer?

Anyway, because of this, I decided to play it safe and skip the question. Good thing I did, huh?
