Most pointless room ever

Topic of pointless rooms, been a little while since I posted my thoughts on this....but.....off the top of my head....

That Treasure Box was terrible. Sure, the room may have had potential, theoretically, but damn, when you explain the objective, and it bearly makes sense to the viewer, much less the contestant, there's obviously a problem.

The idea of going downstairs via a treasure box doesn't really strike me as obvious.

The most pointless temple room is the Throne Room (S1). The fact that the contestants didn't actually have to sit on the throne ruined the room's value, IMO.

It's been a while; give me a break. For perspective, the last new episode I watched that was new to me was The Mysterious Manuscript of Mary Shelley on November 3rd, 2004. I didn't watch too many episodes afterward.

I'm surprised you remembered the exact date you watched that episode on.

It's been a while; give me a break. I agree with the verdict that the Throne Room was pointless. It was just so cheesy! Go ahead and sit on this plastic seat which doesn't look like a throne at all to open the doors.

Seriously through the whole series it seemed that almost everyone ran up to which ever room was at the top.  Not to mention they just slowed you down and didnt have a puzzle

I didn't like the Treasure Room much.  When you think about it, it was basically a second Heart Room.

Really? I only found that really evident in Season Three! Many Season Two episodes had contestants start off in the Ledges (or getting forced downwards into it occasionally)

I always thought The Spiders's Lair and Bamboo Forest were just too easy.  Most contestants figured out that all you had to do was crawl under the webbing or poles.

The reason I prefer The Bamboo Forest over the Spider's Lair because the latter was absolutely no challenge at all. The webbing was useless - it couldn't slow contestants down, and you couldn't climb it either, as proved by Billy. IMO, it's not like the elastic jungle from Basic Training on GUTS because the bamboo rods aren't flexible and you can't go all the way under them. Unless you meant between the rods, in which case, that was the objective. lol

But yeah... The Spider's Lair was probably the worst room in that area.

The webbing was useless - it couldn't slow contestants down, and you couldn't climb it either, as proved by Billy. Unless you meant between the rods, in which case, that was the objective. lol

I gotta agree with you that the Spider's Lair was pretty bad. The stringing in that room was very thin, and was hard to climb. It was also one of those "clustered" rooms of season one I didn't like.

The only room that I could say that is worst than the Spider's Lair was the Treacherous Holes, because that room really did slow down players. I could understand how some teams that went through that room would lose because it was just too hard.

The Bamboo Forest was at least easy to navigate to the upper level. It was just useless though since it was used in five episodes. What were they thinking?

Yes, the Bamboo Forest is such a waste of space. Rarely any contestant went to the top and the door opened to the Treasure or Golden Orb rooms, both are a waste as well. At least The Jesters Court had a good purpose.

I do agree with the Spider's Lair though... I mean, what for put in webbing that doesn't do anything. And I agree with Toltendo, the definately should have used that vertical passage between the Swamp area and the King's Storeroom area more often than they did. It seemed like they only showed it some love in S2L5, and then it got removed...

But then, those occupying the swamp area except the Jester's Court are useless.

And who wants to sit on a plastic seat.

Medusa's Lair was so time-consuming. I mean, would the Applewood Amulet and the Lucky Medallion have been a win with 4 snakes? No!

Yeah, I can't stand the Heart Room at all. It literally was an empty room. And I hate how some of the contestants get lost in that room also. At least the Fallen Columns tried to provide a challenge, but then again, that room was useless.
